PICTURE PERFECT :
Often described by Spike as an Anne Rice sort of vampire, it is true that Angel does fall into certain vampiric stereotypes. He has brooding down to a fine art, for example, with smiles and laughter not rare, but not exactly common either. Despite not being a natural extrovert, he does have a commanding presence which he can use to intimidate foes or lead his team. He walks tall and proud at all times, never allowing himself to appear unconfident. Another Rice-like aspect about him is his tendency to dress head to toe in black. That's not to say he never wears other colours but, when he does, they tend to be dark like a magenta, purple or navy shirt.

SO, WHAT ARE YOU LIKE? :
Angel:
Angel's whole existence is driven by one word: atonement. With over a century's worth of guilt for the atrocities he committed as Angelus, he tries to make up for it even by just a fraction by saving as many innocent lives as possible. Whereas once before he purely fought a good fight for the sake of his own redemption, he now knows that he probably will never be redeemed, and fights because it is the right thing to do. He has accepted the fact that he is more than likely heading to hell when he dies. He is okay with it.
Angel is a leader. He is steadfast in his decisions, sometimes stubborn in fact, and has what it takes to make the tough decisions that no one else can. He keeps the good fight in his mind all the time, even when other distractions come into play. For example, during his time as CEO of the LA branch of Wolfram and Hart, his main focus was always on taking the firm down from the inside.
When situations seem dire, Angel has a tendency to isolate himself and brood. He can be quite pensive and often allows his eternal guilt to overpower him. Even with a soul, Angel has been known to let his inner darkness take over him. He has cut himself off from his friends completely before, let morally corrupt humans die at the hands of vampires when pushed too far. But he realises that it is his friends that keep him on the right path and out of the shadows. He may not always let them know how much he appreciates them, but he does consider them to be his family.
Angelus:
Angelus, on the other hand, is driven purely by sadism. He considers killing to be an art form, and revels in the torment of his prey before delivering their death. He still considers his breakdown of Drusilla to be his finest moment. He uses his words as dangerous weapons and he was once stated as being an expert at mixing truth with lies, thus making him a devastatingly efficient manipulator. That's not to say that he doesn't enjoy physicality, quite the opposite. He gets his rocks off on physically torturing innocents, he finds it fun.

Angel was born as Liam in Galway, Ireland, growing up to be a “drunken, whoring layabout” who never bothered with an honest days work
In 1753, Liam was thrown out of a pub for brawling, only to stumble upon a woman named Darla. Darla quickly offered to show Liam the world, revealing herself to be a vampire, and turned him into one too
A few days later, Liam rose from the dead, killing a gravedigger upon his revival Liam returned to his family home, killing his sister (who inspired the name Angelus), mother, housekeeper and father
For over 100 years, Angelus and Darla rampaged through Europe, with Angelus becoming the most feared vampire in history
In 1760, Darla introduced Angelus to The Master. Much to Darla's surprise, Angelus openly mocked The Master and challenged Darla to pick between them. Darla abandoned The Master and fled with Angelus
After a long cat and mouse game with notorious vampire hunter, Daniel Holtz, Angelus and Darla killed his wife and infant son, in 1764, before turning his daughter into a vampire, forcing Holtz to kill her himself
In 1765, Holtz almost killed the two vampires. In order to save herself, Darla knocked out Angelus and abandoned him
Finally Holtz gave up his chase of Angelus and Darla in 1773, when Sahjhan gave him the choice of travelling to the future
In 1789, a powerful creature known as The Beast sought out Angelus for help. The Svear Priestesses wanted to banish The Beast, but The Beast could not kill them. Angelus refused to help and was attacked by The Beast, but the Priestesses banished him before Angelus could be killed
In 1860, Darla brought about a young woman named Drusilla to Angelus' attention in London. Intrigued by her gift of sight, he was intent on crafting the chaste Drusilla into a creature of pure evil and insanity. First Angelus killed her entire family in front of her, then, when she fled to a convent to become a nun, slaughtered the entire convent. Finally, Angelus had sex with Darla pretty much on top of Drusilla, driving her mad, before turning her into a vampire.
In 1880, Drusilla sired Spike, who Angelus offered to teach the art of slaughter. Angelus then had sex with Dru, just because he realised how much Spike cared for her
In 1898, Angelus killed the favourite daughter of the Kalderash clan of gypsies in Romania. They took their revenge by cursing him with his soul, forcing him to experience unimaginable guilt for all his past victims
From then, Angelus was only able to feed off murderers and rapists. When Darla challenged him to feed from an infant during the Boxer Rebellion, he was unable and she abandoned him once again
In 1952, Angel found himself staying at the Hyperion Hotel in LA. He became somewhat of a hermit. When trying to save the guests of the hotel from a paranoia demon, a woman named Judy caused them to turn on Angel and hang him. In return, Angel left the hotel, leaving the guests to the mercy of the demon
In the mid 1990s, Angel was approached by Whistler in NYC, who persuaded him that he had a destiny to fight evil. Whistler then showed Angel the current Slayer, a LA girl named Buffy Summers
Angel then moved to Sunnydale, where Buffy was destined to end up
In 1996, Buffy moved to Sunnydale and Angel introduced himself and became an ally. Their blossoming romance was hindered by the revelation that Angel was a vampire. However he earned some trust by staking Darla to save Buffy
In 1997, Angel slept with Buffy, but lost his soul by achieving perfect happiness, becoming the murderous Angelus once again
Disgusted that Buffy had made Angel feel human love, Angelus started to target Buffy's friends in order to break her, including snapping the neck of Giles' girlfriend, Jenny Calendar
With the help of Drusilla and the apparent help of Spike, Angelus opened a portal designed to suck the world into a hell dimension. Buffy killed Angelus and sent him to hell, closing the portal by doing so, but not before Willow was able to re-ensoul Angelus
A few months later, but a century later in hell time, Angel was sent back to earth, where he was nursed back to health by Buffy in secret. When Angel's return was revealed, he gained back some trust by saving Willow from Gwendolyn Post
Around Christmas that year, The First Evil tried to convince Angel to kill Buffy by appearing as his past victims, including Jenny. However, he decided to kill himself rather than hurt her, but thanks to Buffy and a Christmas miracle, he was saved
Angel tried to rehabilitate the newly renegade Slayer, Faith, but the interference of Wesley Wyndam-Price stopped him from getting through to her
After hearing from everyone how he was unable to give Buffy a normal life, he broke up with her and, after the battle against The Mayor, he left Sunnydale
After Buffy allowed Angel to drink from her to save him from Faith's poison, Angel spent a few months in LA as a recluse, wandering alleys to save helpless people from vampires
A half-demon named Doyle approached him, sent by the Powers That Be to guide Angel
Together, along with Cordelia Chase, Angel and Doyle set up Angel Investigations and became the subject of interest for Wolfram and Hart
After Doyle sacrificed himself to save a large group of innocent demons, Wesley joined the team
Pretty soon, Wolfram and Hart sent Faith the Vampire Slayer to kill Angel. After she hurt Cordy and tortured Wesley, Angel engaged her in battle. He quickly realised that she was unable to live with herself and was trying to goad him into killing her. He refused and instead offer to help her
Angel protected Faith from both the Watcher's Council and Buffy until Faith gave herself into the police
Angel learned about the Shanshu Prophecy and Wolfram and Hart brought Darla back to life as a human
When Angel learned that Darla was dying from syphilis, he obsessed with the idea of saving her. He earned a new life, but as Darla had new life once before, she was refused to take it
Wolfram and Hart brought in Drusilla to turn Darla into a vampire once again. The pair went on a slaughter spree around LA and Angel allowed them to feed from most of Wolfram and Hart's most important lawyers
In a dark numbness, Angel tried to get rid of his soul by sleeping with Darla. Instead of perfect happiness, he found perfect despair.
When Cordy was taken to Pylea, Angel, Wesley, Gunn and Lorne rescued her, bringing back Fred as well
Angel spent a few months in a Tibetan monastery when he learned that Buffy had died When he returned, he realised that he was falling in love with Cordelia
Darla returned, pregnant, as a result of the new life that Angel had earned
Overcome by her baby's soul, Darla sacrificed herself to give birth, leaving Angel to take care of his son, Connor
Holtz, brought to the future, kidnapped Connor and fled with him to a hell dimension
They soon returned but, as time moved a lot faster in the hell dimension, baby Conner was now an 18 year old named Stephen
Holtz had his follower Justine kill him and made it look like Angel did it
Angel tried to meet Cordelia to confess his feelings for her but, before he could, Connor and Justine sunk him to the bottom of the ocean, and Cordelia ascended to a higher plane
Wesley rescued Angel and Cordy returned with amnesia, and chose to stay with Conner
The Beast returned to this dimension and tried to start the apocalypse
When they learned that the only reference/memory of The Beast existed within Angelus, the gang performed a spell to remove Angel's soul
Angelus realised that The Beast had a master and eventually killed The Beast
While he was free, Angelus killed Lilah
with the help of Faith and Willow, Angel's soul was restored
Angel then went on to uncover Cordelia as The Beast's master. They learned that Cordy had been possessed by a rouge Power whilst on the higher plan
The Power eventually gave birth to itself, leaving Cordy in a coma
Jasmine brought about world peace and the world's population, including Angel, fell in love with her
Thanks to Fred, Angel was freed from Jasmine's spell and the gang eventually broke her spell permanently. Connor then killed Jasmine
In reward for ending world peace, Angel was offered control of the LA branch of Wolfram and Hart. He and the gang accepted, and he also wiped everyone's memories of Connor
Feeling like he had lost his path since he came to Wolfram and Hart, Angel was guided back to the right path by Cordelia, who had since died but was owed a favour by the Powers. As she said her final goodbyes, Cordy gave Angel a kiss, plus a one-time vision
Angel's vision gave him the idea to take down the Circle of the Black Thorn, the Senior Partner's earthly group
In the mean time, Fred was killed and her body was taken over by an Old One, Illyria, and everyone's memories of Conner were restored
With the assistance of Connor, Angel led the gang into a final battle, killing every member of the Circle of the Black Thorn, which led the Senior Partners to send LA to hell

It had been quite some time since the vampire with a soul had last wandered the streets of New York City. The last time he was here, the chain of events that would lead him to encounter Buffy Summers for the first time were started by a demon named Whistler. But now, thanks to Wesley's telling of the prophecy, he was back. It was a lot different from how he remembered it but, then again, most of America was different now. Knowledge of vampires was now widely spread amongst the public. And he was the cause of that. There were vampire fanatics now. Even Harmony had her own reality TV show. Hell really had come to Earth. He was now starting to regret giving her a letter of recommendation following her betrayal.
“If I could rewind time, I'd charge against the Senior Partners all over again.”
Angel turned away from Nina as he spoke. He didn't want to see her expression for fear that the werewolf would be one of the many who now bore hostility towards him. She had always been supportive of his decisions, but the decision to kill off the Circle of the Black Thorn may have crossed that figurative line. To say that the actions of Angel, Spike, Illyria, Gunn, Wesley and Lorne had consequences would be an understatement. He had indirectly given Los Angeles a plane ticket straight to hell. But he had learned something extremely valuable in the process.
He had always thought that there were no long term rewards for his daily fight. On countless occasions, the Senior Partners had been referred to as timeless and infinite. They were here long before the dawn of mankind and they would remain long after humanity becomes just a blip on history's radar. But the legions of demons that the Senior Partners had rained down in the alley way behind the Hyperion showed one thing plain and clear: they had panicked. Angel had given them something to fear. He could affect them.
“Hey, I'm right behind you, big guy. One hundred percent. However, if this Buffy is really as important to you as you say, she'll probably convince you that you made a mistake. I just want you to be sure that what you did was right.”
Nina deserved better than him. That was why he had ended their relationship whilst back in Los Angeles. She was optimistic, she had gained control of her werewolf nature incredibly quickly and she had never once questioned his actions since she knew him. But Angel didn't love her. When he first learned that she had remained in LA prior to the Great Revelation, when he had specifically asked her to take her family and herself out of it, he was pissed off with her. Not only because she had risked her life, but also because Angel wanted her to go out and find someone who could give her everything she deserved. Someone who could give her a life. But now, they had reached a balance of friendship and, right now, Angel needed all the friends he could get.

So so so very sorry for the wait! I didn't realize you were done with the app Anyway, I'm so excited to have you on board and playing with us, you have no idea! Excellent application - very thorough history (Angel has a lot to cover lol).
Just a few notes - I suggest PMing Mod Mandy to get details about what has happened in the Angel fandom within the RP - there has been a lot of character developments. Also, your vampire "sheriff" is Eric Northman - be sure to read about what that means and other vampire politics info here!
