All right guys, I wanted to post an update so you know what is going on. This last week, my daughter started her summer pre-k, and in the last couple of weeks my boyfriend started his new job so there have been a lot of schedule adjustments. There are also a number of medical issues that are being addressed now. I had a number of doctors appointments, follow up tests and x-rays and labwork last week, and I wanted to let you know what was going on.
As some of you know, I have had a history of back issues and several wrist injuries. The latest exams and x-rays have confirmed hip dysplasia and a severe case of arthritic scarring on my middle and lower back. The doctor also suspects that I may have spinal stenosis, which is something that is not usually seen until early fifties but is exacerbated by a spinal injury (I experienced a severe spinal injury in 2000 that never fully healed), arthritic damage and as it is, my symptoms as a whole fit that diagnosis. I am going in for a MRI in the next two to four weeks that will confirm that diagnosis or give her more information to form another one. If it is spinal stenosis, it is a degenerative issue where the spine is compressing and pinching the nervous system with all of the expected side effects. If this is what it is, it will require surgery to expand the spinal column and fuse the vertebrae into place.
As far as the wrists go, the right wrist is being tested for carpal tunnel syndrome and my left wrist is being examined for possible damage to the radial nerve. In other health related news, I have been diagnosed with insomnia (which we all knew), anxiety and an ulcer. (Joy). I am currently on a series of new medications meant to treat the anxiety, the ulcer, the insomnia and anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers as a preventative and treatment for the back issues the meds have been making me kind of weirded out, brain-fuzzies and really fun cases of random sleepies as the various medications kick in but the doctor said that I should be adjusted to the effects of the medicine within another week or so. I also have a prescription for migraines to combat whenever the next round kicks in, so yay for being prepared!
I am going to try and get onto my post lists and see what I can work up this week, I am going to hold off on posting replies until I have a fair bit however as I want to make progress and hopefully actually get caught up and back on track. However, I have a list below of all owed replies and starters and will be striking them out as I get them done in the next couple of weeks. Please bear with me, and I really do apologize for all of the delays these past couple of months.
