What has changed for Jessica the most is that she followed Bill to New York City in hopes of rescuing Sookie. A part of her was thrilled to leave Louisiana, to get away and leave the only place she ever knew behind so she could let herself finally give into who and what she was becoming. Moving from Cajun Country put and end to all that was Human Jessica. Including..maybe..the love she had when she was still exactly like her mortal self. Hoyt. It is a guilt she carries quietly, but as they continue to live out their lives in that small New York house, it is beginning to show. As well as her affections for a certain brother of a certain mind reader.

Another part of her feared stepping outside the humid, sticky environment that gave her something familiar when everything else got too intense. The smell of night jasmine blooming in the swamp was a safety blanket. The comfort of knowing that someone did love her unconditionally was a greedy relief. But. Her maker would follow Sookie to the grave. And Jessica would follow Bill in right after.

Hello, New York. Hello temptation. Hello danger. Hello vampire instincts and a craving to give into the monster inside. "Indulge yourself.. Who cares about what is going on out there? Or in your own house for what matters.." Her inner voice begs.

Now settled in. She aids Bill and the vampires in wake of the Great Revelation. In a time where the dangers are almost overwhelming, she clings onto the strength of her maker to give her the courage to do what must be done.

WHO? : Jessica, sometimes Jess. Trying to make people stop calling her Jess since she moved to New York City. It sounds too "hick" to her.
WHAT? : Princess of New York City. It's pretty much a full time job. Occasionally helps at the club when she is bored.

PICTURE PERFECT : Jessica started out as the "withering flower" when she first became a vampire. Scared, nervous and repulsed by what she was. Now. Over the coarse of a few years, she has let herself fall into the role. Discovering vampirism was the best thing that ever happened to her, she is your typical enthusiastic baby vamp. In New York City, where she doesn't have to hide it as much as the judgemental small town she moved from, she is struggling to keep herself in check. Her inner pull for blood and other pleasures is almost overwhelming.

Some may see Jessica as the typical spoiled child. While that may not be far from the truth, she will never admit it. Fiercely loyal to her maker, she feels she has earned the right to demand what she wants. When she wants. Though, she obeys almost every request made by Bill. Even if she throws a fit first. Jessica is not afraid to kick Bill into gear if she feels he needs it. Keeping him on the move if he starts to become too reflective and hesitates action.

As her vampire life takes over. Her relationship with Hoyt has become strained. She has moved into the life of a preternatural being. While he clings to the hope of a dream family. As she grows to see him increasingly naive, the tension can't be ignored for much longer.

GOALS : Jessica is enthralled with where she is and occasionally forgets what is going on. Not to be mistaken for her being fickle or air-headed, she is simply still a newborn vampire from a tiny swamp who has been plated in the huge hustle of New York City while her kind and many others are living in a war. Her current goals are to assist her maker in every way he may request while exploring her surroundings and herself. She is struggling to come to grips with the fact that she may soon be at an end with Hoyt. She is doing her best to push those thoughts aside and focus on the Great Revelation.

SO, WHAT ARE YOU LIKE? :
Before Jessica was turned into a vampire, she was a pretty good girl. Her parents would have said she was an amazingly gifted, talented, and disciplined daughter. They were right on the first two. But, had they known her small craving for rule-breaking, the third would have been blown hugely out of proportion. She was a girl who liked to sneak out and hang out with her friends past ten o'clock, who stuffed pairs of jeans into her backpack to change into once she got to school, who listened to music that was on the radio rather than the old, dusty tunes her parents allowed her to hear. She even had a stash of make-up. In a Fundamental Baptist house, this would have equaled to her being a troubled teen, a rule breaker, a sinner. No better than the common fangbanger (who she was taught to hate) or bloodsucker (who she was taught to fear) in their eyes. Extreme much? Yeah. A little.

A good girl. Who studied, prayed and dressed as she was told. Or else her father would spare no rod to correct her behavior. One who occasionally liked to break the rules to see how far she could step out into that dangerous world. Temptation was always a held breath away from her fingertips and kept to fantasy by the screams of a preacher under a revelation tent.

Until Bill..

The night was terrifying. Her begging went unheard to the vampire's ears. Around her, they watched in a sick fascination as she crawled on her knees for release from the circle. The monsters were deciding her fate. Not God. Not a preacher. Not her father. These white things, beautiful, inhuman things were her judges. And it was her death and undeath they deemed as a punishment to the only one who seemed on her side. He gave in. Her innocence fell. And the night welcomed her with a full embrace.

Now. Jessica is a fledgling vampire who has overcome the mourning of the night she lost who she was and became what her family would call "a minion of Satan". She has finally been given license to enjoy life freely as she sees fit.

She is loyal, energetic and holds onto some of her core beliefs. Though, she would like to deny it. Jessica can revert back to the human side of herself on a whim. Seeming the pure meaning of the word vampire at one moment and very innocent the next.

THE IMPACT :

"Jessica. I told you. You can't run around the city like it is some safe haven for you to explore. There is a damn war out there! It isn't over yet. We still haven't won!" Bill stared at his fledgling in disbelief. Her wild red hair was a mess, tied up and falling in loose curls all over the place. Her lips blood red. The outfit she wore barely hid the most intimate parts of her flesh. It looked like one continuous sheath of black fishnet and tulle. Her blue eyes rimmed with liner and mascara that was too black and too thick for his taste.

"But..Bill! I..!" Jessica found herself cut off by Bill's hand grasping her elbow and thrusting her away from the door that he kicked closed behind them. Her maker was furious. She could see the cold stare attempting to hide the worry and panic. It made her afraid and happy at the same time. Yet. She hated being cut off..

"BILL!!! I did it!!! I got them to agree.." Jessica grabbed hold of the back of the couch as she was tugged forward toward it. What she said caused Bill to pause in his stampede. His jaw muscles flexed as he turned to look at her through disheveled bangs. He was always so dramatic in his preachings. It made her lips flick into an upward curve for just a second.

"What do you mean "them"? What..who.. Agree? He was standing solid now. Expecting an answer and fast. It was Business Bill. That look always made her uneasy. Unable to look right into his stare.

"A group of rogue vampires. I met them in the bar a few nights back. They were going to leave when I was able to convince them that we needed their help here. Bill. One of them is OLD. Like..Eric Nothman old.." She was proud of herself and it showed in her tone of voice. Her eyes sparkled to life and turned upwards towards Bill's as she waited and searched for approval.

She was not gifted that reaction. Instead she found herself scooped up and airborne until she hit the couch on her rear end and came to an abrupt stop. Her head snapped back upward towards the vampire as he towered over her. His eyes as wide as hers. But in contrast to her paniced gaze, his was full of shock and a bubbling "Holy Hell" moment as she liked to call it.

"You went out to talk to some random coven of vampires without telling me? What kind of world do you think you are living in, Jessica?!" And so it began. The lecture that would brew on into the night. It was as if Bill could channel every teacher she had all at once. Jessica settled in with her hands clasped on her lap and her mouth shut. If provoked, Bill would have them go to their beds while still giving her this life lesson. All the while, she waited until she could breathe in her point and make him listen. Or someone would bust in and break it up.

Any moment now..

Her eyes rolled. Bill's voice rose. Oops.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU SO FAR?:

Previous to being a vampire:
- Homeschooled by her mother from ages 5 to 17.
- No steady boyfriend. Though had one for six months. Brian Keeley. A boy she met at a Bible Summer Camp. This was ended when they were caught making out at a church Christmas Party the year before she was turned.
- Was taught to fear and hate vampires and anything supernatural. They went against God and nature. Those beings were to be damned and put far from thought. If not...they may find out and come for you. Maybe her parents were right about that?


Age 17:
- Snuck out of the house to meet up with friends. Upon sneaking back in, she was captured and taken to the summit where Bill was to be punished. She was forcefully turned into a vampire.
- Came to live with Bill in the manor. Struggled with being completely disgusted at the thought of what she was. Drinking blood and sleeping under the ground was repulsive to her.
- Became rebellious and tried to get back at Bill by treating him like he was a monster.
-Took a job at Merlotte's as a waitress. Where she met Hoyt and Jason. It was there that she saw how horrible it felt when others judged her by what she was. Became embarrassed by her vampiric nature.
- Her friendship and eventual relationship with Hoyt began to make her feel more comfortable in her skin. As he continued to tell her she wasn't a monster.
- Eventually, she slowly began to settle into what she became. And then grew to really like it.
- In the vampire/wiccan war, Jessica learned to appreciate her very being and feared dying. And losing Bill. Her urge to protect her maker shocked her in how deep it ran in her veins.
- Hoyt and Jessica's relationship turns rocky. As she let go of more of her human self and embraced her vampire self. Jason and his utterly unpredictable nature began to appeal more to her. Driving a wedge even deeper in her existing relationship. Jessica struggles to hang onto Hoyt and not hurt him. After all, he left everything behind to be her companion.

The Great Revelation:
-Jessica struggles to see the depth of the situation at first. Thinking vampires just always won. Since that is what she was witness to in Louisiana. It isn't until she is knee deep in several battles later that she sees this is bigger than the wiccan/vampire war. This means the end of the world for not only vampires, but every person on the planet.
-Bill decides to go to New York City to search for Sookie. Jessica jumps on the chance to follow and keep at his side. A part of her wishing that Hoyt would insist on staying behind. The opposite happened and he agreed to come with her. They move into a small house as Jessica tries to keep her focus on saving their relationship.
-Jason Stackhouse ends up in NYC. Why??!
-Bill made King of New York City. Jessica realizes they are not leaving and begins to try to work towards the goal of putting an end to this war. Caught between being completely enthralled with the city life and doing her best to be a good progeny to Bill, she flips back and forth from her devilish side to her growing political responsibilities.
-Recently has made contact with a group of rogue vampires. One of them being an elder. She is trying to sway them into siding with Bill. A feat she feels will earn her the solid respect of her peers.
