Marius walked into the garden once more. It was the late, but he needed to harvest his strawberries. Picking the new strawberries, Marius took the liberty to lightly weed the garden as to save Saria some work on the next day. He waddled, picking whatever looked horrible. When Marius was finished, he took notice of the strange flower which was growing, as well as Sarias note. It was a beautiful flower, and he loved the smell.

"I shall thank her when I see her."

Saria returned the next day to find some of the weeding done, and her note gone. "Marius must have been by again last night." she said, and then got to feeding the fish. They certainly were a little bigger, and with a happy smile Saria counted out at least 10 other fish, including a trout and 2 bass. "When they get big enough, they should be sold. They'll eat the other fish if they grow too much."

Saria watered the flowers, then the strawberries and herbs. The herbs had gotten bigger in the last few days, and Saria could smell the sweet scent of their leaves. They were obviously loving the weather.

Saria weeded the garden a little quicker today, as most of the worse areas had been picked by Marius. After taking a look at the moonflower, Saria headed home.

Saria walked into the garden, when all of a sudden a light mist started coming from the clouds above. "I knew it would rain, I just knew it would." she said sharply as she pulled out her bag of bread crumbs. She fed the fish, who seemed much slower in the chillier temperatures. "Poor things. I'd hate to be cold blooded."

Saria was starting to pull out the watering can when the rain became a little heavier. "Oh well. No watering today."

Saria started weeding, which was easier than she thought it would have been due to the muddy ground. By the time she was done for the day, it was only a little past noon! Saria happily went home, looking forward to being in her warm, dry house.

Saria lifted up the bottom of her dress so that it hung just above her ankles, then walked to the garden. It was so muddy...

Saria fed the hungry little fish again. They were now big enough to start snatching bugs off of the top of the water, so this would be the last day she would feed them. She waved at the small creatures, who replied by churning up the top of the water with their tails as they swam away. Saria smiled; the fish were growing strong.

Saria weeded the garden, which was starting to gather less and less weeds as summer approached. Saria was happy about this; no more pesky milkweed plants that got her hands covered in sticky... milk. After this was done, Saria checked on the moonflower, which was doing wonderfully, and left.

Marius entered the garden, and took notice of his strawberries. Removing them from the stem, he nodded and whipped his brow. Given that it was nearly the end of spring, he decided that it would be best to cut the Strawberries to save some time. After removing the sickle from the shed, Marius thrashed the Strawberry bushes into nothing.

"Hm...the remains might make good fertilizer. I'll put them in a bag; maybe Saria can do something with them."

Marius then left a note on a nearby tree.

Dear Saria,
I cut down the Strawberries, since it's nearly the end of the month. I put the remains in the shed, in a bag. I figured we could make some fertilizer out of it, or something.

- Marius.

After bagging up the shreds and putting them away, Marius left.

Saria entered the garden to find a note pinned to one of the oaks surrounding the garden. After reading the note, Saria nodded to herself. She would come back after work with a bin and start a compost pile in the woods, away from the garden so that the smell didn't reach. That way, the plants in the garden could also benefit, while keeping the garden appealing.

Saria walked away from the note and fed the fish. The koi were becoming lazy little things... but then again, all koi were seemingly lazy. Saria grinned as she thought of this; all fish were lazy to some degree. Saria then weeded the garden, making sure she pulled out every single little weed. These would be the last sprouts in the garden for days until the summer plants seeded.

Saria watered the flowers and herbs, marveling at how much they had grown. She knew the flowers that couldn't live through summer would need to be cut and replaced...

Saria sat in the garden, fanning herself with her hand. Summer was only a few days away; and boy, could you feel it! She was also very nervous; voting had begun. With a last wave of her hand, she got up and started watering the plants. The herbs were seeming to flourish in the heat... Saria watered the flowers and noticed some wer beginning to wilt. "I at least planned ahead and made a plan for summer." she sighed, and then went to weeding the plants.

Once the weeding was done, Saria got up, looked over the fish, and left.

Saria walked into the garden, and looked at the flowers. She wasn't surprised to see half of them wilted; it was almost summer, and therefore, almost out of their season. Saria took out a sickle and cut down the flowers, panting as she swung the heavy tool. When all of the flowers were cut down, Saria took the cuttings and put them on the compost pile.

Saria pulled out the watering can and watered the herbs. She weeded the garden, and then checked the moonflower before going home.

((ooc: Omigosh Marius, I'm so sorry! I forgot to post last night! I'll do the work posts for the two days, but you don't have to pay me for yesterday's, okay?))

Yesterday

Saria entered the garden happily. The flowers were all gone, so all she had to do was weed and water some herbs.

Saria pulled out the watering can. She watered the moonflower and checked over on her way to the herbs. It was doind very well, seeming to be happy in the heat waves already setting in. Saria then watered the herbs and checked on them. Some caterpillars had finally triedto terrorize the poor plants, and Saria pulled every single one off, setting each one on a bush on the other side of the oaks. She then weeded and went home.

Today

Saria had brought some fertilizer (as the compost wasn't ready yet) and some flower seeds, ready to start on her summer plans for the garden. She pulled the shovel out of the shed and set to work on re-digging the ground, to get oxygen in and make it easier for the roots to grow.

After this was done, Saria planted the flower seeds three to a tiny mound of dirt. She planted wildflowers (an assorted mix of them) in the border around the garden, tiger lilies by the pond, Queen Anne's Lace in the little brick squares, and black-eyed susans by the benches surrounding the pond. The point of the arrangements and the wild flowers Saria had used was to reflect the wild and fun side of summer, the sense of freedom.

Saria had weeded the garden when she had dug up the ground, so she watered everything and went home.

OOC: Don't worry about it, Saria. ^^; If you miss working a day, it's okay. You don't have to work every day--you won't get paid of course, but if you get bored you can take a few days off, Marius won't mind. He's not that much of a slave driver! XD

Marius entered the garden. After gathering his hoe from the shed, he went about tilling the soil for Summer, planting the various summer seeds he had bought. It had been expensive, but Marius was determined to build egg in the Summer. Fall would be a very busy time, and he would need to neglect his garden in favor of the Wine.

After all the seeds were planted, he watered them. In order to help Saria, he did a little weeding. Thankfully, Summer was a little less taxing on the garden. More time could be devoted to making it beautiful.

Saria walked into the garden, ready to work. The weeds were for the most part gone, but Saria picked the ones that were left. She made her way over to the shed and pulled out a watering can.

Saria saw Marius had bought some more seeds, and watered each little row carefully, making sure they would get off to the best possible start. She then watered the flowers and herbs, and put away the watering can. After checking on the fish, Saria went home.

Saria had taken a 3-day break for the Beach Festival, and you could really see it; the tomatoes needed a bit of trimming, the flowers needed watering, and there were weeds all over.

Saria gadsped. "I didn't know it could get this bad in 3 days..." She pulled some small scissors and a watering can from the shed. The tomatoes were quickly but expertly trimmed; they would grow fast and stay on their poles, but still throw some energy into their flowers, which would soon be ripening tomatoes. After this, Saria watered all the crops and flowers in the garden. She put the tools away, weeded the garden, and went home.

Saria was relieved to reach the cool, shady garden; the heat of summer had set in, full blast! She dabbed her forehead with a cloth she had brought, and dug the watering can out of the shed.

Calmly watering the flowers and crops, Saria noticed the bugs crawling around on their leaves. "Ugh! Bugs!" she gasped, swatting at the little hooligans. After she was sure the bugs were gone, Saria finished up the watering and weeded. As this was finished up, Saria put away the watering can and went home.

Saria entered the garden with some of the finished fertilizer from the compost bin. It was finally done, and the flowers would probably need it due to the summer heat taking away nutrients from the earth. After spreading the fertilizer, Saria pulled out the watering can. The flowers were drooping a bit; they needed more water than normal.

Saria watered the flowers happily, then got to weeding. Weeding wasn't that hard; not much seeded in Summer. After weeding, Saria put the watering can away and looked in the pond. Clearing off some more algea, Saria stared at some good sized fish, along with the koi. Writing a quick note, Saria pinned it on the tree and went home.

Dear Marius:
The fish are getting pretty big. You might want to release or maybe sell them off.
~Saria

Saria watered the flowers and crops heavily, as they seemed to droop more and more every day in the intense heat. It was always so sunny... Saria weeded the garden quickly, as there were no weeds due to the heat. "I guess summer has its ups and downs. No weeds, but plant health is down, too..."

Saria also dug up the earth a little near all the plants to let in more oxygen to the roots and make it easier for the roots to grow. Putting up the tools, Saria noticed the moonflower was wilting a little, so she watered it a little more and propped it up with some extra wire. She didn't know whether they grew vines or not, but it was always good to give a plant support....

Marius rushed into the garden, flustered very greatly. He had forgotten! Oh, what a waste of a profit! Already the tomatos and corn were bursting to be harvests, and the pumpkins were ready as well! Marius wanted to slap himself, for being so idle. He had lost money!

Dutifully, he collected the tomatoes and corn, along with the pumpkins. It was sad to have neglected them, but he knew happily that he had made a tidy profit.

Noticing Saria's note, he nodded. The fish were getting big, but he seemed nice to keep them around. They might make a good meal if things got rougher around the corner. Still, with the Turnips he now had in his pocket, that wouldn't be a problem.

Saria walked in the garden to notice that her note was gone, along with the pumpkins, tomatoes, and corn. Marius must have harvested them last night...

Saria went over to the shed and pulled out the watering can. Watering the flowers and crops heavily, she wanted to make sure they got all the water they needed. After all the plants were watered, she weeded the garden and put the watering can away. After she checked on the fish, Saria went home.

Saria pulled out the watering can and started watering the plants. They were all doing pretty okay due to the increased amount of water Saria was giving them... As she finished up, Saria put away the watering can and started weeding.

The weeds were down to a low of only 2 or three new shoots a day, as plants didn't seed much this time of year. However, when they did sprout, they liked to sprout in the flowerbeds, right in the middle where it was hard to reach. Saria swore a little bit when she accidentally reached in to realize the weed was a spiky bush... After she was done, Saria went home.

Marius entered the garden with happiness. It was time to harvest the Pinapples! Greedily, Marius gathered them and dreamt of the Turnips. 5,000T...he was making far too much money. What he had made over the years seemed to be coming back in just a few days. He was excited, but already had an urge to go shopping. Sighing, he retreated after harvesting.

Another day, and more plants to be harvested, Today it was the Corn and Tomatos. It was still early in the day though, so despite the Summer heat it was a little cool. Collecting the various plants, Marius smiled at an ever growing profit. He was quite excited for the next season! The dreams of making wine was very exicting.
