Close to the small, clear stream, you can see a small, one-roomed cabin. Bushes and flowers grow to the side. THe door is wonderfully carven, with intricate designs etched on the surface. If you look in the window, you'll see a small bed in one corner, a bookshelf and sofa in another, a small kitchen and cupboards opposite of the bed, and a rug and table in the center.

After a joyus night of family and harmony the stars began to fade and clouds cover the evening sky. Parents tuck their young ones into bed, lovers share one last kiss, and those loners who were enjoying the beauty of star night all alone let the peace of the night settle into them. The village sleeps.

Snow begins to fall as dawn begins to spread her golden touch over the village. The wind passes through the trees near Milauna's home, sounding like a woman's light sigh. A single, elegant snowflake drifts down from the sky and enters Milauna's home - like a tiny comet with a trail of magic sparks, it dances around the room before finding the stocking. Landing in it, the snowflake bursts apart in a fluffy of white sparks. The stocking is now filled with gifts!

A deer whistle, a basket full of roasted nuts, a small log on fire that doesn't give off heat or catch fire to anything, but gives off light, and three tiny jars of what looks to be an animal healing salve!

Thinking of Milauna's good heart and good deeds towards the animals of the forest, the Goddess sent another snowflake free. It landed next to the stalking, turning into a single white feather that seemed to sparkle in the sun. With this gift Milauna would be able to call upon any animal - from a mouse to the feared dragon. It would only work once but if the healing girl ever needed help, now she had the ability to call for it.

Milauna had drifted asleep while reading, and didn't sense the Harvest Goddess flow in and out. She groggily rubbed her eyes, looking around. Her eyes stopped on her stocking, and quickly got out of bed.

"Presents!" She exclaimed. She suddenly remembered the Starry Night Festival, and called out, "Thank you, harvest Goddess!" She looked inside the stocking, and found wonderous things. She dumped the stuff onto her bed, and rumaged through it. Her eyes settled on a feather of pure white. She instintly knew what it was for. She laid them all on her shelf, and left to tend her animals.

Milauna rushed breathlessly in from the forest, carrying the rabbit-like creature. She lay it gently on her bed.

Franticly remembering the healing salves, she took a bottle off, and placed it beside the bed. Then, she concentrated deeply, hands moving slowly across the still-bleeding wound. As her hands moved, she chanted something to faint to make out. The bleeding slowly stopped, but her magic wasn't enough to close the wound. She cried out fustratedly, and moved her hands over some minor scratches and bruises. They healed instantly, leaving only glossy fur.

She stopped and opened the jar. She scooped out a bit, and applied it to the head gash. She got some towels and ripped them up to strips. With these, she bound it around the creatures head. Finished, she wrapped the creature in blankets, and sat down beside it, waiting for it to stir.

Milauna couldn't wait any longer. All the waiting has worked up her nerves. She got up, and headed for the door. She looked back at the rabbit-creature. 'I hope it gets better soon!' She opened the door, and gently closed the door behin her.

She came back after milking her cows and letting them out to graze. She had with her some fresh strips of cloth. She looked for the creature, but it wasn't on the bed.

"Ohmigosh, where'd it go?" She looked around the bed area, but instead of bloody sheets, she saw clean and washed sheets, stacked nicely at the top. "Who did this?" She wondered aloud. She spun around at the soound of a voice.

"That, would be me!" Standing on the low bookshelf, was the rabbit-creature! It stroked it's bushy tail lovingly. "Since you helped me and dressed my wounds, I thought I'd do the washing!" It unwrapped the loose bandages around its head. "See?" It said happily. "It's all healed!"

Milauna was shocked. "Wha...? But, how?" She asked. "Easy." It said. "That healing thing you used? It was magic. Oh, and by the way, the names Wild Ivy." Milauna forgot about the bandage. "Wild Ivy? That's a cool name. Mine's Milauna. Hey, I was wondering... what species are you?" "Hm? You don't know?" It looked offended. "I thought the one person to know what I am, it'll be you. Hmph, I'm a Filosa, the forest's mystical helper! We pop out anytime a traveler needs help, and pop back in again!"

Milauna was quiet taken to Ivy, but she knew it had to go back to the wild. She told it so, but Ivy just laughed. "Oh no, I'm not going back! There's hunters out there! I'm staying with you!" Milaun frowned, but inside, she was happy.

Willow came to Milauna's cabin after she saw the HELP WANTED sign. She walked to the door and knocked. She stood there waiting...

Milauna opened the door. "Oh, hello Willow!" She motioned to Willow to enter. "What brings you here?" She asked.

" Sure you can help! Once you milk my cows, tend to my crops when they need tending, get the wool from my sheep, and collect my chickens' eggs, you'll get half the turnips I earn. Does that sound like a fair deal? If it is too demanding for you, it's okay, if you refuse," Milauna replied.
She waited for Willow to answer.

"No, I can handle the responsibilities. You can trust me to do everything you said!" Willow said eagerly, waiting to get her new job. Willow hadn't made much money so far, and wanted to earn some. Her friend accepted her, and off she went to start her duties.

Milauna closed the door, and sighed. It was good to have help, made better that that one person hekoing was your best-friend. Exhausted from all the work, Milauna lay down on her bed and drifted into sleep.
