Scrawl inhaled, all ready for a world-weary sigh, and then something broke and he snorted instead. Then he laughed. There was this goddamn baby and all he could do was laugh.

"What the fuck. Okay, you know what? Fucking pigs can deal with this. Can't say I never did nothin' for 'em."

He chuckled again, and pulled out his phone. "You should go back to my place. I won't make you talk to cops. I'll order pizza when I get back if you want."

"Okay." She said, and handed him back his shirt because looking at his scars was weird. "Can I have a new cup?"

[Scrawl]

Oh, right! Shirt!

He took it back and slung it over his shoulder. He was going to have to put that back on by the time the cops got here.

"Course you can."

That fucking little red devil crack baby Metro City nightmare was still wailing. Scrawl winced. "I'm just going to call 911 and make somebody deal with men who turn into babies who knows how to deal with men who turn into fucking babies. So you should leave before they get here. I'll probably be like an hour. Maybe they hustle for babies. Who fucking knows."

She nodded. "How do I get to your place?" She knew most of the slums, but she hadn't figured out where he lived yet. She could probably guess the area, but not the building.

[Scrawl]

"Corner of Raymond and Shelby. 2234 South Shelby."

Babies were so stupid. Listen to it yowling because it didn't have any crack to gum on. Were they all like this? Scrawl was pretty sure they weren't, but it was certainly possible that there were some indefinably large percentage of infants who appeared in this terrible manner and proceeded to make a lousy nuisance of themselves.

"You want the basement door. Mailbox says Lehrer on it."

"Okay." She turned and took a few steps, then stopped and turned back around. "You should get rid of that before the pigs come." She pointed to the crack in his hand. What a helpful little girl.
