Liz was sitting on the rail next to the subway. She could have sat on the bench next to her, but that just wasn't Liz's style. Her feet swung back and forth as her glowing red eyes washed over the thin crowd that moved along the street. As her eyes lingered over each of them, she mouthed their names, and smiled at the little bits of information she was getting from them.
Then, she spoke a name out loud as she passed by. It was something she couldn't believe.

"Grood," Kate said with a nod. "Mostly grood." As long as you didn't count the suicidal boyfriend and the impending doom at work and the powers problem. Everything was pretty damn good.
"How have you been? You look amazing. " Kate was starting to get wrinkles. And Liz looked like she'd just graduated college. That bitch.

Kate pulled out her phone and checked the time. It was still fairly early.
"Sure. Sounds fun." She put her phone away followed by her headphones and iPod. She smiled at Liz and studied her face for signs of wrinkles because clearly she had to have some somewhere. Or Liz had gotten rich and had an amazing facialist.
"I like your contacts." They were interesting, but also Kate was a little sure that they were too old for colored contacts.

Oh. Kate looked a little embarrassed, but not too much as it was not cool. "Yeah. It is."
Sometimes Kate thought about moving out of Metro City, but maybe everywhere was weird these days. At least she had company for the weirdness. "It's good to see you. I hardly ever see people from school anymore." That was mostly by choice, though.
"Yeah, I haven't seen anyone in ten years." She sighed. Before that, she had been working at Pirate Adventure Land with four of their old class mates. But there wasn't a reason to bring that up to Kate, who apparently had been a Warden in her absence. And stepped down. Huh. That was odd. It wasn't like Kate to quit.

"I saw Jason Sanders a couple years ago," Kate volunteered with a smirk. "He pulled me over for having a taillight out." She'd gotten out of that ticket, so everything had gone better than expected.
She'd also seen a classmate or two at Wonderland, but that didn't seem appropriate to share.
"So what are you doing these days?"she asked. "Anything exciting?"

Kate looked at Liz side-eyed. "It's interesting at least." And she almost let the topic go except. Porn? "Seriously though?" she couldn't tell if Liz was kidding or not.
"Well. It must be kind of enjoyable." Otherwise no one would do it, right?
"It's short hours of my own choosing. But that's the best I can say about it. It's not really for my pleasure as much as the audience's, so we do things that look good rather than really feel good. I don't know how the boys feel, but that's my experience with it." She shrugged.
"But it's gotten a name out there for me quicker than the other methods, and if I fall too far into obscurity, I get sent back to Hell, so I guess that's good too." Then she realized she had talked too much.

And there it was. There was the weird. Kate was waiting for the weird to come along but had not exactly been expecting that.
"Oh." She said, because really what other reaction could you have. She tried not to look too bewildered. "That's. Well not exactly what I would have expected to have happened to you."
