"Yes and no, and yes. Wait no. Yes, and no. I don't have a railgun on the moon, but if I did, I would use it for academic review of this man's work. Actually I think I would use it for just about everything, but that's not the point.
But yes, that is roughly what happened. Um, or so I heard."

Flashpoint watched all of this with much amusement. "Wait," Flashpoint said, "What shape was the field after you removed one of the towers? It started off as a dome, but if removing one of the towers created a half-dome, that doesn't make much sense."

"That's what I said! Thought. Or would have thought if I had been there. It doesn't even make sense as a failsafe, since whatever you were trying to keep out would have access to the bar, and whatever you were trying to keep in would escape anyway.
Kind of a narrower dome, weak on the hypotenuse, it overstretched the energy supply to run between the opposite pylons. Just sloppy engineering all around." Rom tries to make an appropriate set of gestures to describe the exact shape, and mostly fails to convey it effectively. He seems absolutely disgusted with this turn of events.
"Tell me they caught him, I want to have a word or two."

"Huh, that's really odd..." Flashpoint said, ruminating on how the pylons could have worked. This new information answered a few of the questions he'd had, but definitely also created some more.
Crim stood aghast at their casual discussion. This wasn't alright. This wasn't alright at ALL. In the Defender's eyes, there was a pub-shaped hole in the world. One that served five cent wings on Thursdays.
... Oh. And the whole "rallying place for all supers" thing. CD had no idea how he missed that.

"It is," Rom nods, "I got some parts for study, and I'll see if I can't get more for a proper analysis. There, um," he looks at the Crimson Defender, "there isn't a Super Bar Reconstruction Man in town? I bet there is, I bet he just calls himself 'Bob the Builder' so people don't always bother him for home repairs. You have to know someone."

"I'd love to help you look at the remains when all of this is over. I'm very intrigued about all of this," Flashpoint said to Rom.
"I can help with any reconstruction," Flashpoint said, "I work very closely with Anthony Taylor, who owns FutureTech. He was actually the one that told me to look at a TV. I'm sure he'd be willing to pitch in some money to help fix the bar."
The Defender groaned, hand over face. Boreas wasn't going to like this.
"I'll have them check CAPE's records," he promised. "There's probably someone like that around, even if they're not active. We might even get the Artificer in on this."
Red to Boreas:Just talked to Rom. The bar kinda... got hurt.
Boreas (555-423-8808) to Red: Well...damn. Let's take Luke out for a drink somewhere, then. Oh, and if you talk to Hax some more, tell him I said "all the city-wide catastrophes in the world can't save you from my six, and I plan to bring the pain". He'll get it.
"Um, Rom, Boreas says... 'all the citywide catastrophes in the world can't save you from my six, and I plan to bring the pain'," the Defender recited. "Does that mean something to you?"

Rom lowers his head, laughing quietly. "He's not happy about the bar, is he," he says, "well, no avoiding it, then. Tell him he knows where to find me.'"

"Wait, you guys know the Artificer?" Flashpoint asked. He'd heard that name bounced around like he was some mix between Santa and the boogeyman. He'd always wanted to meet him, though.
"He's... confident," the Defender said, standing nonchalantly in unconscious mimicry. "Effective as all hell. Friendly to a fault. Reliable as rock. All around good guy.
