Everyone knows that Metro City was built around an ancient meteor impact site about 300 years ago. What NO ONE knows is where the meteorite WENT. No extraterrestrial ores were found at the site, no out-of-place traces elements were detected, nothing. The only thing that was odd about it was a faint radiation signature that came from nowhere... but was found to be GROWING over time.

At first, scientists threw up their hands in frustration. The radiation couldn't be stopped, or even contained by normal means. There was nothing they could do to stop it... though they learned to harness to advance technology rapidly. Then, in the 30s, as the miracle of DNA was being unearthed, they discovered it... faint traces of the radiation, embedded ... deep within the genetic code of someone from the other side of the planet. The radiation source, whatever it was, had gone worldwide.

Then the 40s came, and with them, the advent of super-crime. Banks were having their vault doors frozen off. Lavish masquerade balls were being picked clean in the blink of an eye. All manner of impossible and unbelievable events arose with no one to stop them. And so, the heroes came to oppose them... valiant knights, from all walks of life, dedicated to justice and protecting the people from unrelenting, extraordinary evil. They are defenders of right! And this is METRO CITY!
