The NY Chatterbox is our in character chatbox, for accepted characters only. In character, it's an invite-only chatroom, meaning that you can only get the link if another character sends it to you, or you read about it somewhere - so as far as the characters know, it's a pretty safe place to be. It operates in real time, and the date and time on the cbox are the date and time for the characters, we're just in 2015 instead of 2011. As it's a chatroom, characters can sign online/offline, go away and idle, and can also send 'personal messages' to one another, which can only be read by the recipient (written in the form PM TO NAME:). It is possible for characters to see who is online before they sign in, and they're also capable of reading back through the history, so try and keep private conversations to the ICC's personal messages!

If your characters are going to be in the same place and it's illogical for them to keep chatting online, you can also use the ICC to do quickfire RP. This should be placed in single parenthesis, and takes the form -action- "Speech.", e.g. (-walks into the cafe.- "Hey, sorry I'm late.").

All OCC chat should be done in double parenthesis, and occasionally you might find us doing something set in the past/future, which will usually be done in single square brackets. Things that happen in the ICC do affect the game, although if you're desperate for it not to, then just talk to the other people involved. Obviously, please remember that what characters say doesn't reflect what the player thinks, there will be swearing, and please fade to black for any sex scenes! Beyond that, have a lot of fun in there!
