Ohey, Court has a second character (finally!)

This is Lincoln Rhodes, though if you wanna call him Linc that works too. He's 20 years old, and from California. LA, to be exact, and he would give his right foot to be back there right now. Okay, not literally, but he's currently working as much as he can to save up and head back home. See, his mother's sister lives here in Bailey and a few years ago she ended up needing surgery on her stomach, so getting around wasn't going to be very easy for her. Fortunately, around this time Lincoln's parents were having yet another infamous fight and his mother decided that a little bit of space was what they needed, so she packed up herself and her only child and moved out to Bailey to help take care of her sister. Linc's dad is still in Los Angeles (he's an agent for some rather big name celebrities), and while he and his wife have since reconciled, he refuses to move to Bailey, and his wife refuses to leave, having fallen in love with the small town. They're currently trying to figure out something, but Linc doesn't plan on hanging around waiting for those two to work out their differences. He's been stuck in the middle of nowheresville for two full years, and it's driving him crazy.

His parents won't help him get back home, though, because part of the reason why he'd gone with his mother to Bailey to begin with was thanks to the crowd that he was starting to fall in with in LA. He wasn't exactly doing anything bad, but there was always this threat of it happening, especially when faced with the flashy movie star temptations that he was exposed to thanks to his father's clients. Linc was supposed to finish his senior year of high school here in Bailey, but he dropped out so that he could start working full-time and afford his way back to where he belongs. But, as much as he hates it here, this place has been his home for the past two years, so he'd be lying if he tried to say that there weren't some things that make this place bearable...

And that's where you all come in!

He can be a really good friend, but he's a big city type of boy and he tends to clash a lot with the townies here in Bailey because of that. His idea of fun is generally not the same sort of thing that people who've been born and raised here think of, and, truth be told, he's more likely to find any small town activities, like festivals or whatnot, quaint at best and simple at worst. But if he has a good reason to bite his tongue on the issue, he can and will refrain from possibly offending someone who really, really loves this place. He isn't a complete snob about it. ;)

Folks with big dreams/aspirations/experience outside of Bailey will likely be the best match for him in terms of friends because they know what he means about wanting to get out of here and back to the "real world", as he calls it. So if you'd know what he meant by wanting to just get away from here, you'll find a kindred spirit in that regard really quickly. He also loves driving, so if you'd be up for a road trip someplace or you just like to drive around you should be his friend because I say so. :3

Annnd since he's from LA, he knows the party scene. So if there's a party to be had in Bailey, he'll be there, whether he was invited or not. >>

Any other ideas for being his buddy are more than welcome too, so toss them at me!

Linc is extremely competitive, so right off the bat if your character would get their kicks trying to one-up him, he's not gonna like you. He's very focused on what he wants, and if you stand in the way of that, he'll do whatever it takes to get you out of the picture. Whether this means that he's openly hostile towards you, or he'll play up the "friend who is scheming behind your back" really depends on the person. But he was raised in an environment where people backstab and sabotage each other for roles all the time, so it's really not surprising that that is how he thinks problems should be handled

Also, while he doesn't go out of his way to get into physical confrontations, he doesn't shy away from them either. So if you wanna fight him, he'll fight right back. (but he has such a pretty face, no one should want to hit it, right? >>).

Finally, he's really resentful of being in Bailey, and finds it so...beneath him. Well, not just him. He thinks that it's beneath everybody and cannot understand why anyone would actually want to stay here, so if you're extremely proud of your home town, his attitude toward it is going to piss you off, no question. The way he talks about LA in comparison to Bailey makes it seem like he's arrogant at times, but he doesn't think of himself that way. He just genuinely does not understand the appeal of such a small town. If he notices that he's really pissing someone off with his comments, he'll drop the subject with a "never mind, didn't mean to get you all worked up", but there's a reason why he finds himself drawn to those who are itching to get out past Bailey's borders as well.

Well, he had a handful of these before coming to Bailey, but unless your character was in LA two years ago I'm not sure if any ex-girlfriends might pop up here.

Other than that, he's WIDE OPEN for plots!

OTHER STUFF

...Yeah I don't know about this part. Maybe he pissed off some teachers when he dropped out without graduating, or you're his neighbour in the apartment that he lives in now (since he's refused to live with his mother and aunt once he learned that his mom didn't want to leave Bailey) orrrr co-workers orrrr yeah...I dunno, but if you've got ideas, I wanna hear them. <3

LAYLA HAWTHORNE - April 9, 2012 07:10 PM (GMT)
so layla lives in the apartments so they could have met that way. she owns and runs a bakery in town so if he likes sweets he would probably know of it. lol basically i see him being a bad influence on her. you see when layla finds out she has twins she'll be vunerable and he could fill her head with big city dreams. maybe they even road trip for a couple days or something before she convinces him they have to go back. she loves bailey but isn't opposed to his way of thinking. but i doubt she'd ever be leaving montana. so they could be interesting friends. plus, it's nina/alex so he could teach her a thing or two about flirting because she's rather shy so i'd like to get her loosened up a tad. but yeah i'm open for most anything.

so leiloni here has spent a few years in new york city. she's hoping that she can head back there some time in her future. so if they ever did run into each other i think they could bond over that? she doesn't really have anything against bailey she just wants to move back to new york to try and make it as a dancer. she's very adventurous, flirty, outgoing, so maybe if they did get to know each other they would become flirty friends? add/edit/delete :D

[/dohtml]

KYLA KIRSCH - April 10, 2012 05:48 AM (GMT)

Wooo alex and dianna love <3 So Linc is everything she's ever wanted to be. I assume they would have met in highschool and as soon as she heard he was froM la, she would have befriended him instantly. Kyla would hang on his every word whenever he spoke about LA. She's usually very cautious about people and she's not fooled by anyones shit but when it comes to Linc, she's like putty in his hands. Anything he says, she does. He could totally talk the city up and tell her all about his dad and his connections. She's a dancer and an actress but her main reason for leaving is for school and just the lifestyle in general but if he made promises about her working with his dad or whatever, she'd be so excited. She likes to think she's all grown up and mature but she's still a small town girl and she's totally naive. Linc is like an alien to her haha. Not to mentions he is SEXXXYYY and she's only ever really been in a relationship with Dylan so this hot city boy is the most exciting thing to ever happen to her. I'm so happy for her to have her little bad influence. He can drag her out to parties and take off with her on road trips for a few days and what not, make her act totally un-kyla-ish since she's always so responsible. I LOVE YOU <3

LINCOLN RHODES - April 10, 2012 04:53 PM (GMT)

Who doesn't like sweets? Bakeries are amazing and Linc will happily be a returning customer! But I love that idea! He'd be more than happy to help her get out of town and coach her on things like life outside of Montana and ways to flirt/loosen up. I can see a scene with them where he's all "okay, show me your flirtiest face. ...Wow, okay, that might work if you're flirting with a priest. Try again." and having fun with it. ) So they can be friendly neighbors/he's a regular customer of hers right now and they can move their friendship from there! Love it. :

Missing a big city is the fastest way for him to warm up to someone, so they could meet up, and through maybe noticing the way the other speaks or through some other 'tell', they could figure out that they've come here from some other place (well, Lei is coming back here, but still she'd have picked up some New York social cues, I'm sure!), and they can strike up a friendship that way! Perfect!

    LINC && KYLA

Seriously look at these crazy attractive kids. So presh. <3 Linc will absolutely love to drag her out to all sorts of parties and he'll "kidnap" her all the time and just drive her out to all these cool places and then he'll keep encouraging her to want to leave and all that fun stuff. And there's no question that he'd be promising her that his father would help her out in LA, because his dad does tend to go "well here, I'll give you this/do this for you" to his son, rather than actually do some serious parenting stuff. So he'd be promising her that she'll have an agent, and she has the talent and she'll have him someone in LA who has her back...yes, he'll definitely be a bad influence on her if people want her to stay in town. I cannot wait. :D <3

yep! that's basically what i had in mind. lei spent four years in nyc so i imagined her picking up a slight accent without even realizing it. she talks about what it was like when she lived there quite a bit too. like how she felt when she first moved there and the high rent and her favorite places to visit and stuff like that. let me know if you ever want to do anything with these two :)

[/dohtml]

LAYLA HAWTHORNE - April 13, 2012 12:53 AM (GMT)
I LOVE IT!! XD it's all so cute!!! she'd reply with, 'well i might as well be a nun.' lol and yes she would think he's awesome because she loves all her customers and she might even tell him about this guy she likes and how she's wanting to use these flirting skills on him. haha these two will be such adorable friends!

LINCOLN RHODES - June 14, 2012 04:54 AM (GMT)
Bumping up my plotters because so many folks are gone now! :c

Linc needs someone to be a bad influence towards now that Nat's gone (and with her, Kyla!), so I'd love to have someone fill in that role! If your character is young-ish and dreams of escaping Bailey someday, toss them at me!
Also, he's going to need more friends/flings/really serious love interest maybe/anything and everything :D
