I'd walk a thousand miles, and then a million more if it means finding what you used to make me feel. I dream of finding what I once lost, because I need it if I want to continue on in this world.

Amber Heard. 23 years old. First Year Police Officer. Lower Middle Class. Single.

Reckless. Fiesty. Dominant. Outgoing. Wild. Defensive. Caring. Flirtatious. Challenging. Emotionally-distant. Independent. Strong-willed. Lewd. Sexual. Stubborn. Risk-taker. Tough. Mechanical. Impatient. Street Smart.

“Niña! You sit down.”

Or the ever present, “Mija! Go sit in the corner.”

Devin was raised in a rather tight nit family life. She had six other younger siblings—she being the youngest, and the only with a white father. Her mother was born in Venezuela just years before moving and meeting Devin’s father, Connor. Connor left a few years after Devin’s birth, however, and Maria moved on to marry Josef, the man she knows as father now. With a large family, and immigrant parents, Devin grew up poor fiscally, but plentiful with support. They grew up in downtown Harlem where crime was plentiful, and Devin found herself as the minority. Life wasn’t easy, and she grew up rather fast.

She found herself with a quick temper, but quickly worked to make sure she could back that up. She was always there to protect her siblings if they ever needed her. She became like a small firecracker ready to explode at the first contact of friction. She found that she had this distinct distaste for sitting down to read a textbook, and she hated listening to a teacher lecture to her. She was out of school more than she was in school, and by the age of fifteen, she illegally stopped going completely. With her mother’s help, she legalized her dropping out.

Through a local program she was able to get her GED months later. She worked on and off in gas stations, and found herself attending boxing matches. She was too young to actually fight, but she soon found a love for kickboxing. Through a local gym, she paid for her lessons. It was through a mentor at the ring that she decided she wanted to do something with the ever present extra energy that she had—she with the help of her mentor signed up to join a New York Police Academy at 17.

It was a year before she graduated the academy when her old habits came back—rather, the reckless need to help someone weaker than herself. She stepped into a mugging to help a man and ended up with a bullet wound to the shoulder. It took months to heal, and nearly six months of rehabilitation work before she could go back to school. She found herself in her first relationship—and felt this calmness run over her that she’d never had before. She was 22 when she finally finished her work at the Academy. She hoped to find work with the New York Police, only to fumble in her personal life.

She broke it off with her girlfriend after being given the choice of losing her dream of becoming a cop to staying with her girlfriend. And thus, they parted ways. She put her feelers out in various areas for a job as a first year police officer. She worked for the Social Services while she waited for answers. It was fate that she got an answer from the Bailey Police force, and the NYPD. She turned down the NYPD, in hopes that maybe she might be able to rekindle the relationship with her ex-girlfriend who had moved to Bailey. Not that she’d ever mention that.
Friends: Devin is fun. She loves to go out and party and she's always willing to try something once. She likes to enjoy herself, but as of lately she's toned it down. She knows better than to get too wasted while in public, and she tries to behave herself to a point. She wants to grow up, for multiple reasons--but she can get crazy every once in a blue moon. She's fiesty, however, and a little overpowering, but friendly enough. She's got very little shame, but don't piss her off, because she will tear you apart verbally. She's rather verbose and doesn't take shit. She does this with her mouth--given she's not too keen on beating the shit out of people anymore. She however is brand spanking new to town, as in she got here a few days ago.

Enemies: She's a cop. She's a proud lesbian. And she's not willing to take your bullshit. She gets along with most people, but she has a nice temper on her--so piss her off and you might just make yourself an enemy. She's not too keen on forgiving people.

Lovers: She is a huge flirt, she however only likes women. She might flirt with a guy just for the fun of it, or she might have a male friends that she's snogged a few times to try and get him some attention, but she has and never will sleep with a man. She won't be that flirt that flirts with anything and everything, but the moment she finds out a woman is gay, she'll be right on that. She however has a "final" and we'll see how that goes, so.

Devin :: Joy
Yay so many co-workers :) Like with most others I can imagine a friendly relationship between Joy and Devin. However because they are both women I doubt they would be doing much patrolling together. She does seem quite different from Joy though in the sense that Joy is the quiet type around her personal life and not at all a party girl. So that could be fun to play on.
