This is Leyndarmal, a town on the northern coast of Iceland. While this might appear a town like many others, but it really isn't. A recent string of curious events has kept the town's people, and outsiders, well occupied over recent months.

Rules are subject to change, and may be altered at any given time. Last update: January 28th, 2008General Rules- Registration
- Please register with your characters first and last name. That means that if you’re looking to create a character named Janet Wilson, you should register as Janet Wilson. Not as Janet, Wilson, Janet009, Cutie666 and so on.
- Applications
- Respect the application form. Don't remove or add fields, but most off all don't ignore fields as if they're not there. Fill the application form in correctly.
- You may post your unfinished application on the forum, but you must finish it within the next five days or we will remove it.
- Posting an application does not mean that you will be allowed to join Leyndarmál. The staff will work with your application, giving you feedback on it so that it can be altered when needed and this should be enough for your application to be approved. However, there are cases in which we simply won't consider a character or a player to be a fit match to this community. We are not required to give a reason, but in most cases we will.
- Behavior
- Respect. That's what it's all about. Respect the community and your fellow players. Don't be harmful just for the heck of it. We expect our players to 'play nice' and be an equal part of the community. Be creative, willing and open minded. We like to see our players plotting and thinking about alternative story lines. Don't be afraid, speak up and let your opinion be heard. We don't what this to be a community were the admins to all the plotting!
- Absence
- Have to go somewhere for a weekend? Or you going on vacation? Moving? Or did your muse simply leave you? No problem! But be sure to leave us a message, especially if you are involved in several threads. This is why we have the Player Alert forum, so that you can give notice of your absence. And please be kind enough to notify us when you have returned as well!
- Graphics
- Your character needs an playby you can then use in avatars and signatures. We know that people love to decorate their own profile with a pretty avatar and a catchy signature. However, keep it reasonable. Avatars should not be larger then 125 x 125 in width and height, and signatures should not exceed 500 x 250.
- That being said, we do not take kindly on animations in an avatar or a signature! They are hurtful to the eyes and distract the players from reading the posts you've made. So just lay off the animation.
Posting Rules- Posts
- We are an advanced RP community, which means that we expect quality posts from our players. One liners are not allowed, but neither are posts that fill pages and pages with mindless babbling. Think while your write. Feel free to include as many details and catchy sentences as you wish, but keep it reasonable. Don't go over the top, and give us something that we can enjoy to read! Quality over quantity.
- Incidentally we are a PG-13 rated RPG, which means that in the average post we allow mild violence and nudity. R-rated posts are allowed, but you must make a clear mention in the topic's title! People that don't wish to be confronted with R-rated material must be able to avoid this content! R-rated posts without a proper mention will result in a warning for the players involved! We take this very seriously.
- Be mindful of grammar, spelling and structure.
- Powerplay and godmodding
- No. That's all there is to it. Just don't do it. We don't allow people to have all-mighty, master-of-the-universe characters. Keep it normal, and reasonable. Over think your character carefully before you apply. The same goes for Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus; your character must have an essence of realism about him/her! They are not the one person that everyone likes and the person that has no bad qualities!
- Powerplay is the term used for actions that use another players character. Don't. Leave other people's characters alone, and respect that. If you wish to use a different character, ask the player in question first! They must give full approval.
Character rules- Believable
- Make sure that your character is believable and matches the setting. Your character can’t be powerful, know everything there is to know or have mysterious and deep powers like.. mind reading or throwing fireballs out of their fingers. That is not the kind of setting that we use. Also, please make sure that your character’s not a Mary-Sue or a Gary-Stu. No one is perfect, so don’t create characters that are. The believability of your character will be judged by the admins that handle your applications.
- Threadage
- It’s perfectly alright to be involved in several threads at the same time, even if it’s in different districts and even different days.
- Character limit
- You can have three character accounts without getting any trouble from the staff. If you want to have any more characters, you must first show us that you can maintain three characters at the same time. If we are convinced, getting a fourth character will be no problem.
- Don’t steal
- Please don’t use other people’s characters in your application as well as in your posts. If you see an opportunity to make a new character that is related to a character owned by another player, send them a PM or leave them a message on the C-Box. Ask before you use. Using without asking is called stealing.
