In the millennium 4000, disaster struck. The entire world was precariously balanced on uneasy peace, until some country or the other attacked another, feuding over a matter that has no meaning today. Many factions were dragged into the war, and those who weren't were destroyed during the heavy fighting. The chemical and nuclear warfare ravaged the Earth, causing severe natural disasters, economic depressions, and nation-shattering battles. These events caused several rival alliances to be made among the separate states. These coalitions fought bitterly, each trying to gain control of each other. Most thought Armageddon, the end, had come.
However, one of the confederations rose above the rest, using advanced weaponry and, some would argue, underhanded techniques. Though at the time, these methods were backed wholeheartedly by the war-sick people, some came to regret their support for their liberators.
The union, known now merely as
the NATION, began their reign. The leaders, reclusive figures appeared but rarely in the public eye, commanded the movements of the entire body of their group. From the backdrop, they managed to create a plan that soon revived the world. Housing, medical aide, food, and clothing was provided for all people, regardless of race, religion, or gender. Racism began to die out, and the long-standing feuds between religions was a thing of the past. Economies boomed as international trade became wide-spread at the NATION's command. Technologic advances exploded in the light of combined data from all over Earth. A.I.s were made; androids created for the greater comfort of the people. Throughout these changes, The NATION was creating even more laws to keep the peace of their empire. Not only was war unnecessary, it became prohibited.
Though at first the government installed programs to focus on trade and human relations, their grip tightened slowly and surely. Little by little, freedoms were leeched away, rights removed, personal expression denied in the name of peace. A universal language, appropriately named
Uni, was developed and enforced, as well as uniform culture, life, eventually even food. The NATION viewed all forms of media, from art to music to television, as having the potential to be used against them. Gradually, so that the world did not take much notice, they began to remove the threatening material, for its safekeeping and preservation. Those who objected were jailed as disturbers of the peace. When questioned, the NATION asserted that the items seized were thought to be for use in inciting a new war, and the people, whose memories of the last battles were still raw, allowed them. Television slowly changed into uniform propaganda. With the new technology available, they were able to subtly sway the mass's opinions and thoughts with images and articles. The people, literally brainwashed, became little better than the robots that served them. The world came under the reign of power-hungry dictators, and the world didn't notice.
That was fifty years ago. Forty years of consented submission. Now, a resistance has begun, calling itself
P.U.N.K. Organization. Somehow, music and art has the ability to awaken the dormant conscious brain of the people. P.U.N.K.'s leaders, realizing this after having been 'revived' themselves, have set to working to bring the world back from under The NATION's rule. But they are not the only resistance; some others have gathered forces, the strongest of which is
House of Wolves. Some are flying solo, while others are allied, but the goal is the same - overthrow of The NATION.
let's get this party started.
