Lukoien, the still adolescent wolf, let out a light sigh as he plopped his form down heavily. The impact from the young beast caused a cloud of dust to rise from the sandy terra, tickling the nostrils of the creature. He sneezed as the dust lingered around him before slowly settling back to the ground. His body was weak from the constant running for his safety, this seemed like a nice, quiet place to rest, though he couldn’t stay long, he felt constantly in danger. The eyelids of the juvenile felt like lead as he struggled to stay awake, but he couldn’t fight it; he was pulled away into a deep sleep.
Several hours later, he awoke from his slumber, and rose with a jolt to his feet, amazed that he had let his guard down for so long. His pale blue eyes surveyed the land the land to check for any signs of danger, seeing there was nothing obvious, he calmed himself and took a seat upon his haunches to begin ridiculing himself for his mistake. A slight rustle in the leaves behind him interrupted his self atonement. He leapt to his feet as his heart began racing. Paranoia overcame the young beast as he began to panic, looking around heatedly for the intruder. A rabbit made itself apparent before quickly bounding away from the canine’s presence. Lukoien scoffed at his own stupidity and decided to head back out on his expedition before he gave himself a panic attack from worrying so much. The paranoid lupine set off in the direction he had previously been heading, into the sun. The hot sand pained his paws, and his muscles still ached, but this was no time for stopping, and there was certainly no turning back now. He traveled on, towards the setting sun, not knowing exactly where he was headed; simply knowing that is was something he had to do. A journey so instinctive he couldn’t bear turn away from it, still, he had no idea what it was for, or how it would all turn out in the end… [Blah] |
