&& * arts and crafts center.
this small cabin is the home to all arts and crafts projects. its easily the most awkward cabin on the grounds, with its brightly colored, mismatching murals on the inside and drab brown exterior. a large wrap-around porch holds several wooden tables and chairs for those campers wishing to work outside, while smocks, easels, many sinks, and wooden cupboards filled with every type of art supply you could image, from sharpies and crayons to 4B pencils and graph paper, can be found inside. this is the place to be if you're feeling artistic!

the greenhouse holds over sixty-five unique species of plants. students can sign up to be responsible for there very own plant, and will then be in charge of coming in to water it each afternoon. the greenhouse is spacious with its thick glass windows and multicolored watering cans, but plants isn't all it holds. you can also find a small collection of brochures, pamphlets, and books about the plants you can find around camp crenshaw. there are also many history books about capron, oklahoma inside... after all, the grounds of the camp used to be a wildlife preserve. there is some information about old buildings on the premises to be found in these books as well. who knows what you'll find in those!

&& * the beach.
though everyone is allowed to use camp crenshaw's small beach, it is frequented most often by the the college-age counselors looking to hold light night beach parties. the beach is also commonly used by campers for sail-boating and water skiing during the day. rickety wooden steps lead down to the golden sand and clear blue waters, though dried up seaweed can often be found along the shore. a small jetty of rocks sticks out from the mainland, and sand dunes and a fire pit can be found on the left side of the beach. a worn-out looking volleyball net is located a ways down the beach, though it can be reached easily enough. if you arrive early enough here, you may be able to find some sand dollars!

the boathouse holds all important items for water skiing, snorkeling, water polo, sail-boating, bodyboarding, tubing, and more. there are also kites, beach chairs, frisbees, sand buckets, tennis balls, and other beach toys to be found in here. you can sign up for instruction on any of camp crenshaw's many water sports, including surfing and life-guarding inside. there is also a small camper run snack shop in this tiny hut which sells sodas, chips, ice cream, and other packaged foods.

&& * counselor housing.
not surprisingly, the counselors get the largest and most luxurious cabins on the grounds. however, this isn't saying much. there are fifteen staff cabins, each of which holds six counselors. metal cots line the floors and there's plenty of wall space for staff to hang up posters or photos from home. each cabin contains two desks and an a dingy bathroom with a single shower, toilet, and sink. counselors are permitted to pick their own sleeping arrangements, so there are frequent switches throughout the week. arguments over shower schedules are also frequent.

&& * birch point.
birch point is the very highest you can get while at camp crenshaw. this mini mountain takes about half an hour to climb, but the view alone is worth the work. you can see much of the surrounding area from the top of birch point, including the town, which is ten miles away, and each and every building on camp crenshaw grounds. the view is especially breathtaking as the sun sets, and the peak of this mountain is a great place to go when you want alone time with someone special. but make sure you're back in your cabin by curfew!

four large sports fields with lush green grass and goals on each end are the center of all sports related activity here at camp crenshaw. a miniscule track surrounds the solitary football field- five and a half laps to a mile. the field hockey and softball fields can be found here as well. shiny metal bleachers line each field, and gatorade machines are set out during each day. official sports activities take place tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays, though campers are welcome on the fields or track at any time. competitions take place at here every saturday, ranging from soccer and kickball tournaments to sack and one-legged races.

all tennis related activities take place here. all twenty-four courts are equipped with scorecards and counselors knowledgeable about the sport are on hand each day to help everyone from beginners to experts. rackets and balls can be found in the equipment shed next to the row of water fountains outside the gym. each set of six courts are enclosed with black wire and locked each night for the safety of the campers. there are few official activities in tennis, though watch the bulletin board, as some may show up in the future. so come on in and play a match!

camp crenshaw's state-of-the-art gym holds two basketball and volleyball courts, an indoor track, dance studios, squash courts, a fitness center, rock climbing wall, gymnastics center, and locker rooms. you can sign up for everything from dance classes and beginning squash lessons to the sunday volleyball tournaments rock climbing classes. The gym also contains a large lounge area complete with couches, a foozeball table, and a widescreen tv. campers can often be found fighting over couch space and the remote. but recently they've been puzzled by one thing... no matter how hard they try, they aren't able to watch MTV.

&& * clearwater creek.
this small creek is a perfect place to think or reflect. cool clear water gushes down a miniature waterfall under a short wooden bridge and birds can often be sighted flying over the small river. campers often come to fish or simply meet up with each other and take a stroll along the water. campers interested in nature can also hunt for new species of plants or animals here (but watch out for the poision ivy!) its a great place to look, because you have a wonderful chance of discovering something new. if you bring a snapshot of a new animal or plant found by the creek back to the nature center, you might just earn your cabin a couple more cabin points!

&& * birch cabins.
there are twenty-five birch cabins in total, each capable of holding four campers. though the birch cabins are the smallest of all the cabins at camp crenshaw, they are also the only only ones to have air conditioning. though the AC is relatively mild compared to that of the main office, its certainly better than nothing. each birch cabin holds two bunk beds and a medium-sized table with two chairs. campers who live in a birch cabin share one closet with their cabinmates and a bathroom that contains twenty shower stalls and six toilets with everyone from all twenty-five birch cabins.

&& * the lake.
the lake is basically the center of activity during the daytime. campers can come and take swimming lessons, participate in the daily races, dive off on of the many docks, use the tire swing to splash into the cold water, or simply kick back and relax. after a tiring morning of sports, nothing feels better than to take a nice long swim in camp crenshaw's lake. things like kickboards, noodles, diving rings, and waterproof balls can be found by the lifeguard's chair. remember to only swim when a lifeguard is on duty (yes, this means midnight skinny-dipping is out).

the auditorium is where all campers involved in camp crenshaw's summer play rehearse each day. this summer's play is annie. rehearsals are held mondays, wednesdays, and fridays from eight o'clock to nine-thirty, just in time for light's out. the auditorium is also used as an official location for staff meetings and an assembly hall where all campers meet where there are important announcements to be made. the canvas-roofed auditorium can hold up to 600 people, more than enough space to fit all of the campers in. participants in the dance classes also perform her for the closing ceremony of summer camp.

&& * the fields.
camp crenshaw has a great deal of open fields where nothing has been built, most of which are located a couple of miles away from the lake. if you come and site quietly, you'll be sure to see some unique prairie animals. bring a camera with you to take pictures to bring back to camp if you wish, or simply sit and observe. many animals, including rabbits, deer, foxes, hawks, bobcats, and prairie dogs can be found in the camp crenshaw's fields if you look hard enough. be careful, though- you don't want to get too close to the wild animals!

&& * the abandoned train tracks.
the abandoned train tracks are a frequent meeting place for campers both in the day and in the night, though of course you're forbidden to be outside of your cabin after nine-thirty. doesn't stop most people, though. it always seems to be windy near these old train tracks, though its hard to say why. an abandoned hand-car sits on the track headed west... or is it headed east? to tell the truth, it seems to be in a different location every time. a rusted metal signpost standing upright nearby points to each of the four tracks, though the original directions on each can no longer be read.

&& * cedar cabins.
the fewest amount of campers live in the cedar cabins, though this by no means guarantees them more space or privileges. there are only ten cedar cabins in all, and each are capable of holding five campers. during many group activities, the lone odd-ones-out of each cabin are forced to pair up together. believe me, you do not want to be one of these people. each cedar cabin has two bunk beds and a metal cot, along with a small table and two closets. everyone in cedar cabin must share an outhouse that contains a solitary toilet and shower with the other campers from each cabin.

&& * stables.
horse-back riding is a popular sport everywhere, but especially at camp crenshaw. the riding program here is mostly designated towards beginners and campers who have been riding up to two years, though more experienced riders are welcome to come in and use the ring at any time. camp crenshaw owns about twenty horses and all the supplies needed to groom and take care of them, along with two rings and plenty of instructors. horses can be checked out in the main riding office at any time to be ridden in the open fields by cedar dock or to climb birch point with. campers are also permitted to board their own horses in the camp crenshaw stables, for an additional fee of course, as there is more than enough space to accommodate extras.

&& * forest.
camp crenshaw has about three acres of forest alone, used for no particular purpose. campers don't venture towards this area often for fear of the large animals that live here, though the area is perfectly safe in the daytime. campers are, however, forbidden in this area after dark. a failure to follow this rule may result in a twenty point deduction from your cabin points tally, though this silly rule doesn't stop many campers from trekking thorough here to attend nighttime parties at the abandoned shack. but rumor has it you don't even have to go through the big scary forest at all to get to rosewood mansion. too bad no one's found it yet...

&& * the abandoned shack.
the abandoned shack is located about two miles off of the fields. its rather large, with peeling gold wallpaper on the inside and damp rotted wood on the outside. many campers speculate that this used to be the old head of camp crenshaw's house, due to the fancy furniture and paintings inside, though no one can be sure. to tell the truth, they don't even know how camp crenshaw has been running for. in fact, no one really knows anything about the camp at all. ANYWAYS, this old shack is most frequently used as a place to hold parties long after lights out. campers are known to bring their ipods, speakers, and food they've received in care packages from home or that they've bought at the general store in town to host their own forbidden dances.

the small nurse's station is located about a mile and a half into the forest, which can seem like a very long way when its ten o'clock and night and you're alone. it is staffed 24/7, as the nurse lives in a small apartment located upstairs. Ace bandages, ice, painkillers, anti-itch cream, band-aids, and more can be found in the numerous cabinets of this building. it is painted a light green on the inside and is equipped to handle poison ivy, chicken pox, sprained body parts, colds, and many other minor injuries. if anything serious occurs or x-rays are needed, campers may be taken to the hospital in town.

&& * archery and rifling range.
camp crenshaw has dedicated a good two or more acres of land to the archery range, where campers are supervised at all times as they aim for the bull-eye's on numerous red-and-white striped targets. there is also a small rifling area, where campers can sign up to take one-on-one lessons on how to use a rifle. a small wooden fence set up beside the forest usually holds tin cans or other objects used for shooting practice. staff would like to remind the campers that the rifling area is a privilege that is to be used for practice and learning purposes only. the rifles are not to be taken anywhere else on the premises, and are not to be used without proper supervision.

&& * ROSEWOOD MANSION.
you have just left the horse stables when you suddenly stumble upon a worn down, but nevertheless visible, packed dirt path. you wonder where it might lead, and are slightly afraid to continue, but curiosity gets the better of you. a couple of miles into the forest, you spot a large light blue building with white trim from a distance. you wonder what it could hold. pushing overgrown tree branches out of the way, you advance towards the mansion and climb the small wooden steps leading to the entrance, noting the immaculately mowed grass and wraparound porch holding several rocking chairs and a bingo table. two towels and a bathing suit are clipped to the clothesline near a small garage holding what looks like two cars. music from a radio blasts out of an upstairs window and the towels flap in the breeze. it looks like someone lives here, but you couldn't be sure. what is this place, anyways?

NOTE: this forum is not to be used until subplot 6 is well underway. you may not have your character roleplay here until further notice.

the twenty maple cabins are located directly at the edge of the forest, farthest away from the counsler's lodging and the main office, but quite close to the nurse's station, should they develop an injury. each maple cabin can hold up to eight campers, and the though the rooms are a bit cramped, each cabin comes with an en-suite bathroom and one closet. four bunk beds are jammed in-artistically into each of the four corners of the room, leaving space for a little wooden table in the center. small glow in the dark stars twinkle down from where they have been stuck on the celling each night. that's strange... wonder how they got there?

&& * the office.
camp crenshaw's main office is home to student files and other important documents. ms. mcallister. the receptionist, is on duty during most of the day to answer phone calls, most of which are nosy inquires from concerned parents about a certain reality tv show featuring a nameless camp in oklahoma that has gotten a lot of attention recently. of course, had they bothered to watch the show, they may have recognized their own children. all accusations are denied, however. camp staff can often be seen going in and out of the board room, where meeting are held weekly. the office also has a small lounge area with two lilac couches and a polished wood coffee table covered with magazines that serves as a waiting room for campers who have gotten in trouble and need to meet with mr. divello himself, the head of camp crenshaw. believe me, you DO NOT want to have to talk to him.

the dining hall at camp crenshaw is a large and bland-looking, with its cream-colored walls and uniform blue plastic chairs. this is the sort of place where, just like in elementary school, the hot dogs bounce and the milk cartons have expired three weeks ago, according to the labels. you can get a good meal in here once and a while, though chicken tender and pizza day are rarer than most campers would like. most of the time it's white rice and chicken in mustard sauce, or variations of that anyways. a large cork bulletin board is located outside the dining hall near the five wooden benches sticky with spilled apple juice, or some other gross substance.

the technology center contains thirty brand new Mac desktop computers, more than enough to accommodate all campers who may need to use a computer at any given time. due to the fact that laptops are not allowed here at camp crenshaw, all campers must come to here to check their e-mail, to im, or to do any other activities involving computers. the lab is small and all of the windows are stuck shut, so its often warmer in here than outside. a copy machine, scanner, printer, and fax machine are located in the corner.

in an attempt to be educational, camp crenshaw has installed a brand new library at elm ridge. the building is well staffed, especially considering how many people actually come in each day (quite few, really. if you had the option to go anywhere on the premises with anyone you wanted to, do you think you would pick the library?) nevertheless, sometimes campers can be seen inside here working on research projects in an attempt to earn cabin points or simply checking out a trashy fiction novel. not so very educational after all, i guess...

the mail and laundry room is exactly what it sounds like- a room where campers can receive care packages they have been sent by friends or family at home, as well as letters and postcards. campers must bring their own dirty laundry down to the set of washers and dryers in this cramped basement area of the tech lab, though if you are fortunate enough to be part of the cabin currently earning the most cabin points, your laundry will be collected from your cabins for you and returned washed and dried the next day. however, you may not even want other people going through your dirty clothes.

campfire circle is located about a mile and a half away from the dining center, but directly next to the elm cabins. a small wooden gazebo which is often used to hold privacy conversations by campers living in elms lies to the west of the circle itself. the camp crenshaw flag, with its light blue background and two large dark purple stars, is tucked away near the gazebo, but it can still be seen flapping in the breeze occasionally. if you were to squint close enough, you could see that the small white letters running around the perimeter of each star read "home of rosewood mansion," though no one's really bothered to look too closely. a mound of firewood lies inside a circle of rocks halfway between the cabins and the gazebo. logs and tree stumps surround the small campfire.

there are fifteen elm cabins in all, each able to hold up to four campers, though some hold only two. many consider themselves lucky to have secured a place in these cabins, because though they are smaller than the others, you don't have to share as much space with your roommates. the elm cabins are located right next to the campfire circle, and they each contain a small desk, two or four cots, a closet, and *le gasp* a dresser. campers who live here must share an outhouse containing five showers and two stalls with everyone else in an elm cabin.

the small general store in town sells everything from magazines, toothpaste, chips, and bottles of water to cigarettes and fake ids. campers are only allowed in town on the weekends, and because its about ten miles away, its impossible to make it without a car. the general store is open 24/7 and you can often find a cute high school boy working at the counter. prices are rather inflated in here, as the nearest shopping area is quite far away. if you don't believe me, see for yourself. four dollars for a plain old piece of soap?

capron's pizza parlor is small and somewhat dingy, with a large hole in the wall and what some camper's suspect are unsanitary working conditions. the pizza is, however, decent (just avoid looking at it too much). the pizza parlor also sells sodas and some chicken dishes, though i wouldn't try them if i were you. there's a small dinning area in the front with a couple of tables and dirty green booths as well. campers mostly come here to have a change from the dining hall, though the food really isn't that different.

capron's one movie theater only has five theaters, each seating about 80 people, which is a lot compared to the size of the town. besides the theaters, there is the ticket counter, the small concession stand, and two bathrooms. inside of the theaters always smells like stale popcorn. campers come to watch the latest movie on their weekend in town, though nothing spectacular is usually showing. best sneak your own food in, as the popcorn is only decent food available.

le disko; yes, it sounds like the club is for those who love the '70's, but le disko is the only club for miles around capron. the club isn't strict on age, though you got to be 18 to get in the door. a good fake id and a little make-up will probably be good enough to convince the bouncer, though. on the weekends, and some weeknights, the counselors all hop into a truck and drive into town to stop at le disko. it's their little haven away from camp to unwind. any campers seen trying to enter le disko will get thrown out, so don't even waste your time trying. le disko is like any other club, with a dance floor, bar, lounge area, and a couple of tables to sit down at.
