5 GOLD
Dino Gambatesa - gold - advanced -68kg
Alec Mead - gold - advanced -84kg
Sam Hooker - gold - advanced 100kg+ (Sam was meant to be -100kg but they merged the categories)
Ed Ingamells - gold - novice -93kg
Paul 'Prodigy' Rogers - gold - novice -68kg

1 SILVER
Kirk Baldwin - silver - novice -68kg

4 BRONZE
Ash Williams - bronze - advanced -68kg (not bad with a brutal hangover!!)
David Wosman - bronze - novice -68kg
Danny Lerwell - bronze - novice -93kg
Rob (Cardiff) - bronze - novice -100kg

Great day!!! We would have had more medals if the repechage system had been run correctly. Off the top of my head...

Kris Powell lost his 1st fight then won 2 (both subs, I think), but that left him with no medal??

Miles Edwards and Scott Dorrell both won their first 2 fights then lost their 3rd and didn't get to fight again.

Simon Thomas lost his 1st, won his 2nd, then didn't get to fight again?? Alex Jones won 1 or 2 then lost and didn't get to fight again??

Possibly there were other instances like the above, I can't fully remember!!

Taylor Waters also fought his first comp and did the advanced category, winning his first fight. Great performance.

Zack had a tough fight against a brown belt but didn't get tapped and escaped loads of bad positions.

Sorry if I've missed anyone, just trying to get the results posted up asap smile.gif

Videos to follow within the next few days.

AWESOME DAY GUYS !! Very proud of EVERYBODY who competed today with everyone putting in great performances.
As Rob said , I'm sure there should of been more medals coming our way as quite a few of the guys won several fights before losing a match only to be told that they were not in a medal position and didn't even have a chance to try for one !!??!!??
Great day regardless of that though with lots of our guys getting submission wins and some nice skills on display. Team spirit was amazing as always . Also just want to let you know that Tommy is fine after taking a really heavy fall and landing heavily on the back of his head resulting in him being knocked unconscious. As I said, he is good though and will be back raring to go next session. Thanks again guys for the effort, it paid off today !! biggrin.gif

Tommy was unlucky man, that was a harsh landing.

Forgot to mention before... there were LOADS of subs!! I think the majority of fights won by our guys were subs. Just hope there are enough good angles for the annual highlight video smile.gif

ALL the recorded wins will be uploaded to Youtube smile.gif Most of the wins are recorded.
