Questions about Game Management
What is the Story Council? The Story Council's main purpose is to prevent players from falling through the cracks as the game grows. Heads of the character groups are responsible also OOCly for their players, ensuring that no one gets "lost in the crowd."
All admins have been divided between the player groups. One or more players have also been promoted as the Head of their groups. Heads have no specific duties, but are encouraged to greet new members, plot with and run plots for their groups, pair up characters, and generally see to player roleplaying needs. Heads are responsible for their groups, but NOT LIMITED ONLY to their groups.
How can I tell who plays a character?Click on "Make Alliance" in their signature block.
How can I tell what characters a player has?Click on Who's Who up at the top of the screen and search for their username.
Where do I post my RP organizer?Roleplay Organizers are by player, not character. On your
first character, reply to your application with your RP Organizer. For your second+ characters, link your current organizer in your username.
How do I get more replies to my post?Announce or bump your thread in an appropriate topic
HERE. Specifically request players to attend by posting in their individual RP Organizers. Give them time to do so. Because of players' time constraints and their involvement in other threads, a post might go a few days before it gets replies.
Where can I start posting? You can begin anywhere. Some, although not all, roleplays are announced
HERE. Unless a thread is marked "finished", all threads are always open. You may join any thread at any point in time. You may join a thread in the middle, hijack someone else's thread, or just "cameo" passing by to get from one IC point to another.
What do I do if someone stole a thread I meant for someone else?Roll with it. Hurrah, you now have a group thread! Because the setting is an open prison, there is no true possibility of actual privacy. All threads are always open to all players.
If your character wants privacy, deal with the situation ICly. Just like you would in real life, ask ICly if the other characters could give you some space.
What if I join a thread but I'm not ICly allowed to be there? You will be ejected from the area ICly.
My thread was marked 'inactive'. What does that mean?Threads are marked inactive and closed and locked after a certain period of inactivity. If you feel you can help continue the thread (whether you are 1) the original poster(s) or 2) joining the thread but able to work with the scene) in order to finish it, ask an admin to open it for you.
What happens to finished threads?Finished threads are closed and marked as 'finished'. Points are awarded for finished threads.
Can I curse ICly/OOCly/in the cbox?Yes, with restraint. For details on how to maintain a PG-13 rating and what is and what is not considered acceptable,
READ HERE.
How do I earn House points? What are the prizes? The House points thread is linked at the top of the screen.
How many House points may a marshal award or deduct? As many as they feel appropriate, but they cannot go into the negatives.
How many levels may a marshal award or deduct? As many as they feel appropriate, but they cannot award higher than Level Seven, and cannot go lower than Level One.
