The framing and most of the walls of Murron’s new tiny house was officially done. He’d spent most of his free time on it because it was easier to let his mind wander when he was doing something constructive than when he was just sitting somewhere. He hadn’t gone fishing; he hadn’t even felt like feeding the multitudes of birds that swarmed around his house lately. The weather was perfect too, almost like this was what he was meant to do. Who was he to turn it down? He closed the door to his shack; squinting just slightly as newly risen sun assaulted his eyes. He took a few breaths of the dewy air and stretched before turning in the direction of the semi-built house.

Knowing the deviousness of the children at Furiae, Micah had found a way to draw an age line around the construction in order to keep the kids out. He’d allowed a few in every once and a while to assist him, but was always very wary. He didn’t want the whole place to come falling down on Murron because of some prank.

Deeming it unnecessary for the time being, Micah pulled out his wand and dispatched the glowing blue line. He would be watching carefully anyways. He sat down in what would soon be the living area and looked around at the work they’d completed so far. Give it a week or two more and he figured they’d be done.

Murron walked down to where her new home was going to be hair pulled into a pony tail robes off she had normal muggle clothes on instead. The girl turned woman looked very casual today as was her plan since she was planing on helping Micah build. Spotting the man in question she had a huge smile.”Hello have you been up all night?” She didn’t like him loosing sleep over the fact that she wanted a new place to lay her head at night but no matter she could not save a day that was already lost just stop another sleepless one though by helping.

Moving closer she pulled a bottle out from where she tied it to her belt holding it out to him ”Water you got to be thirsty or would you rather I pour it on your head?” she teased him lightly she was already considering the man a really good friend of hers. That in itself was a scary though she really did not have many friends outside of the circles she grew up in. It was not that she minded she didn’t she liked the guy it was just surprising for her.

”So how about it tiger drink or over your head cause I want to help” yes she was having fun with the teasing.

Micah, still sitting, leaned just slightly to one side so he could see Murron’s face. She’d been cast in a silhouette as she walked towards him, but by shifting he was able to block out the sun just slightly and see a shadow of her smile, which he returned. He shook his head when she asked if he’d been up all night. He probably looked that way, though, if he thought about it. He hadn’t bothered to shave in the last few days and his clothes were a bit more ratty than usual but that’s just because he hadn’t taken his portkey out to get new ones. His clothes usually only lasted a few months as it was.

“Slept like a baby, actually, what…can’t you tell?” He asked, in mock hurt, slowly pulling himself up to his feet and shielding his eyes from the blazing early morning sunshine. He’d become somewhat closer to Murron, especially since they’d started building her house. He still had trouble believing she was a pureblood sometimes, still had pangs of mistrust that he could help, but got over within minutes.

Raising his eyebrows when she called him tiger, he chuckled and shook his head. She seemed like more of a morning person than him, which was saying something because generally Micah was all about being spry and chipper in the morning. Maybe he was getting too old. The thought made him shudder.

“Well…ok then, if you’re that adamant about it. “He chuckled, motioning toward the place that would eventually be a storage cupboard. “Grab the tools, I’ll get the wood.”

She in fact was not a morning person she just really, really wanted out of Alecto and into her own places home away from homes if you will. Maybe then her freedom would really feel like hers and not like she was just witnessing what it would be like. Still the house was going up quicker then she thought it would be and she wondered if mister anti magic was cheating with his wand at times. That could not really be it though maybe he was just good with his hands or something like most men in her family.

Hard work now that was something the girl knew well maybe not in the traditional sense but she had been though hell with the training. ”Nyet I can not tell you look like you have ink on your eyes the bags are so bad maybe they are working you too hard” she winked at him It was odd he was seeing a side of her that was carefree almost like how she had been with Ingo once upon a time before losing him. It was amazing what could happen when one let their walls down around people they felt they could trust.

He was chuckling though when she called him tiger that was a good sign showed he had a sense of humor. When he told her to grab the tools though she mock saluted him ”Sir Yes Sir!” clicked her heals and went for the tools.

Micah rubbed his fingers underneath his eyes, as if it would help clear up the dark circles. He knew it wouldn’t, he slept worse and worse as time went on. He was shocked and appalled at himself that he’d taken his interactions (failed interactions) with Alvita so hard. He hadn’t seen much of her since the day she’d made him some food. Micah brought himself from his thoughts and chuckled at Murron’s good hearted wink. It was hard to be sullen when she was this bright and cheery. She clicked his heels together as she went off to find the tools, while he walked out of the frame of the house and toward the back of it to grab some large sheets of plywood and slowly making his way back to the front. He set all but one of the sheets down and walked back into the house, leaning the board up against where it would soon be nailed, he held his hand out for the bag he’d asked Murron to get.

“Do you like it so far?” He said, raising his eyebrows. He'd taken some liberties in the design of her place- including a small loft-like second floor where she would sleep. That way she had much more room than Micah had in his little house, as well as more privacy.

Maybe she was cheery right now the thing was everything was starting to look up for her since coming here two more years and she would be free if she wanted. Till then she knew she had to keep her nose clean and play her cards right that was fine too and if it got her out of here all the better she would just look at it as if this was some of her uncles weird training again. That could pass the time for her quickly if she thought about it but then what would she do when she was out she had no more formal school training other then before she came here. So maybe she could take some mail correspondence classes through the owl post while here. Snapping out of her thoughts she looked down at the bag she was asked to get in her hand and slowly walked it over to him handing it over when he had his hand out.

When he asked if she liked the house so far she nodded ”I love it! it is going to be perfect when it’s done and thanks again” she smiled moving over to help him hold the plywood in place. ”Hey Micah can I ask you something? You lived a simple life right what was it like I mean with what my family did and does I never really had a chance at that kind of life you know maybe I can now”

Micah grabbed hold of the bag with a half-smile when she handed it to him, muttering a quick ‘thanks’ as he set the bag down by his feet and began rummaging through it- pulling out various nails that were the same size and setting them down on the floor. He smiled when she nodded fervently and exclaimed that she loved it- hoping that she would tell him otherwise if she was lying. He slowly straightened back up as she walked up to him and began holding he plywood in place for him. It was an odd question. Well, maybe not really that odd, but for where they were at the time and everything, it felt quite out of the blue.

He surveyed the pureblooded witch for a few moments, trying to think of what exactly to say. Simple life…perhaps. Micah wasn’t sure what exactly constituted a simple life. Perhaps she thought being muggle meant simple? A very pureblood thought process- not that he was put off by it or anything. Perhaps with anyone else, he might have been, but he’d come to like Murron.

The older Marshal chuckled and gave the slightest shrug. “Simple is pretty relative.” He offered, gently placing his hand a top hers and guiding it down toward the middle of the plywood so she wouldn’t be in danger of getting hit by the hammer he was about to be hitting. “What exactly is it you want from yourself?” He figured he would ask. His idea of happy and simple would most likely be different than hers. His simple would be to settle down in his little shack, keep himself happy. He wouldn’t exactly want that from her though. She was still young and had a lot of potential.

She did not mean for the question to be odd in sound she was just one of those people that spoke her mind no matter what subject it was on. Maybe in this particular case she wanted to know about it because if she had been born to any other way of life okay now that sounded odd but meet her remaining family he would understand. Letting him guide her hand down so it would not get hit she smiled she actually liked hanging out with him and building the cottage by hand it was a lot more work but it was very worth it to her already.

“What exactly is it you want from yourself?”

God that question it made her pause and really have to think what did she want could she even have whatever it was? It was a very long moment before she opened her mouth so speak but when she did it was in a small voice. ”What I want and what is expected of me is two different things Micah, I want not to live a life where constant death is all I see or do but I am expected to take over the family I am the heir and my mother is dead. I want what every little girl wants growing up the fairy tale ending good education, a job I am happy at, a husband, kids someone that will love me no matter what comes. To not to have to worry about dying in front of them like my parents did with me. But the reality of that happening for me are slim because of how I was raised and who I was born to don’t get me wrong I love my parents or rather loved but no kid should have had to grow up where cleaning up bodies was the norm for them to see” she frowned and the girl felt like she was about to start crying but she kept it together.

”I have all this money and empty houses filled to the brim with objects but none of that matters not to me”
