[Set 18 years ago before the birth of her daughter]

Blond hair down her back and those startling blue eyes the woman sat on the couch of Alonso’s waiting for him to get home from the trip she had sent him on he had been gone for just a short while fourteen days but she had missed him terribly. A lot had happened in her life from losing Michael her best friend to being forced into some stupid marriage to a man she was supposed to kill. Do not ask her how that one happened because even she did not know.

For once just once she wished she could not have everything in her life dictated for her that was something Michael did not see before he left her and now she doubted he ever would. But for Nadiya Ivanov and no she would never call herself by Matteo’s last name of De Luca she was a prisoner held in a cage of her families making. Though that cage appeared to be a life anyone would want on the outside the girl who always had a smile hated it.

Oh how she craved freedom to choose what she wanted don’t get her wrong at nineteen she was fine with being the new assassin head of the family and did her job well enough to have her name feared to those that traveled the darker sides of the word that she would not choose to change. But now more then ever she wanted the freedom to choose who to spend her days with and who to love.

Sure she missed out on Michael but that did not matter she had found Alonso a man that she had been working with for a while now and so one thing lead to another and she loved the man. They just could not be open to the public due to being forced into the marriage she was in.

Now though was not the time to think or worry on things she could not change she had other more pressing matters like the glass in her arm and bigger things too as she plucked said glass out she tought on this and heard the door click open. That was when she pointed her wand at her arm quickly finishing cleaning the cut and muttering a spell to wrap it before jumping up to launch herself at the man that came in the door.

”Miss me?” she grinned.

Alonso had just arrived back at his apartment in Naples after a quick two week "business trip" to Greece. He was glad to be home and to be himself... well himself since he had left Hogwarts. He was still getting used to being under assumed names. He still went by Alonso Aiolfo for Nadiya and Matteo, his business partners but for many he now went by one of his many assumed names. He sighed as he turned the key in the door, relieved to be back in Italy and so close to his love.

Just as he was about to turn the door handle, he heard noises inside the room. He guessed that he knew who was within but he took a knife from his boot just to be sure. He then opened the door and walked into the room to be tackled by Nadiya.

Alonso laughed and rolled on top of her, arms around her, and kissed her many times on the lips before responding "No. Why would I miss you?" He kissed his love again. "Of course I missed you. I missed you more than anything and I always do. I'm glad to see you again although you may want to be a bit more silent next time. I had a knife ready to kill you if you had been someone else." He held up his weapon to show her before placing it back within his boot. He kicked the door closed and than stood, lifting her up in his arms.

Only as he did this did he realize that her arm was hurt. He kissed Nadiya on the hand and than lifted her arm, examining the wound. "What did you do to yourself Mio amore? I thought I told you that you had to be in one piece when I came back. Come hai fatto a fare questo mio amore?"

Alonso kissed her once more before placing her on the couch and sitting beside her. "Is there anything I can do? Are you too sore to celebrate my return with me this time? Maybe you should leave than?" He was being playful with her once more, trying to lighten the mood. Something was bothering her, he could see it in her eyes, but he wanted her to tell him and decided to leave her mind be. She would tell him in due time but for now he would shower her with kisses and show her just how much she meant to him. He kissed her once more before settling beside her, hand on her head. It was nice to be home.

She was all to happy to be in his arms again which was so ironic since he was not her husband if you thought about it. Though she left Matteo back visiting his mother ugh how she hated that woman the only reason why she came to Naples anymore was this man right here she would have been happy back in Omsk just fine if they were to spend the whole year there instead of half like they were now.

As he teased her that he did not miss her she gave the worlds biggest pout of a puppy dog look till he kissed her then that and all thoughts went out the window. She was now melting in his arms all because of those kisses he gave her in-between the talking oh how she loathed talking right now but it was needed as much as she did not want it to happen right now.

Then as if on cue there came the worrying when he saw the wound on her arm Alonso always worrying about her like she could not take care of herself at all but that was one of the things she loved about him. The other being that he was as sweet as he was full of himself. ”It is nothing just a flesh wound I will be fine. I had a job earlier before running some errands is all.” she smiled then running a hand though his hair ”I did not have a certain pain in my ass to watch my back this time” she added with a laugh.

When he moved to the couch first setting her down then himself only to start cracking jokes she sighed how was she going to tell him this? It was one of those things she thought she would never have to talk about after all Matteo…. Well the odds were against him to say the least.”I am fine really there is nothing you can do and don’t you dare try and say we can’t celebrate” she scolded playfully before laying her head in his lap.

Alonso had always hated leaving his Nadiya even if she was not legally his. And her taunting him by saying she only got hurt because he wasn't on the job with her just made him feel more responsible for her injury. He stroked her head in his lap as he thought.

After a moment, he spoke. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you mi fiore russo. But you will never need to be without me again. For you." Alonso placed a locket around Nadiya's neck and closed it before placing his hands back on her head, stroking her hair and forehead, and continuing. "Open it. This way, I will always be with you. I will be your angelo custode, always around your neck even when I cannot be with you. This way you will always know what I look like as well in case I cannot be who I am anymore. A piece of me, a lock of my hair, will always be right by your heart as well. No matter what, so long as that is around your neck I will be there to protect you." He then leaned over and kissed her forehead.

The mood in the room had grown serious and he felt it was time to lighten the mood once more. "Now, I thought this was a celebration. Look at your face. Wipe that look off of your face. Or do I have to do this to make you smile." He kissed her lips and then along her neck. Then he nibbled her ear before whispering into it "So what is this news you need to tell me. I am all ears my love. And once we are done, shall we carry this conversation into the bedroom? I'd very much like to make sure neither of us has lost our touch. I doubt I have but you, I am not so sure."

Alonso smiled at her, a toothy grin, and than sat up again. "So, I am all ears. You have my attention my love."

A locket hung around his neck, swinging a bit as he moved. It matched the locket that now hung around Nadiya's neck. Only two of these lockets existed in the world and now they were in the room together, not far from each other. Despite the identical shell of the lockets, the contents differed. Alonso's contained a picture of Nadiya, blond hair, blue eyes and all, staring back at him with eternal love glinting through the eyes. Along the seem of the locket was a lock of Nadiya's hair, forever sealed in with the picture of his love. Nadiya's locket contained a hexed photo of Alonso that would change when his face changed and a lock of his hair, just as secure and hidden as hers was in his.

The set would be a way for the lovers to always be together. But as soon as the locket left the lover's neck, the other would know. these lockets had a spell on them so that they would always know the other was fine. In his own way, Alonso was ensuring that he would always know his love was safe and could be there no matter what. He left this detail out, knowing she would discover this spell for herself if anything ever happened to her. He kissed her on the forehead once more as he thought about this. Hopefully neither would ever have to feel the spell for themselves and the lockets would never leave either of their necks. He hid his worries as he waited patiently for Nadiya to speak, a smile on his face despite the worry strong within his heart.

Great now she felt bad she was only teasing him but his silence told her he took her teasing as more then a tease, Stupid how could she be so stupid she knew he was protective of her yet she had to go say that, thoughtlessly?

When at last he did speak it was to apologize as he ran his fingers through her hair that was so not what she was planning on having him do apologizing that is. Afterward he slipped a locket around her neck which she fingered gently waiting for the go ahead to open it only then did she an instant smile coming to her features. He always could make her smile even the days she was having bad a bad day at home. Looking down at the picture she touched it too before gently closing the locket back up letting it just hang about her neck. ”Don’t be sorry I was joking I know perfectly well how to take care of myself but I love the present”

As if on cue though she could count on him to change the subject on her when she was trying to be serious. They had a lot of things to discuss tot he point she thought her head would explode if they did not that was when he started kissing her and nibbling. Damn him she could not focus like this and he knew it the sly ass that he was. ”I can not thin-“ she started to say but then cut off when she heard him say she might have lost her touch. ”I have not don’t make me kick your ass just to make up for it after” she growled at him but playfully so.

He sat up then and she did too telling her he was all ears but she frowned not sure how he would take this or where to even start. Maybe at the beginning would be best she decided so she opened her mouth to speak. ”You know mama forced me in to marrying Matteo right and while I care for him darling you know my heart lays with yours. So I am not sure how to put this situation or how to deal with it or how you will react.” she was afraid out of her mind but she continued.

Reaching out for his hand she gently took it in hers laying his palm flat against her abdomen after so she whispered. ”I am pregnant” taking a deep breath then she held his hand there. ”I have not told him yet if only because I am ninety nine point nine percent sure that this baby is not his, My whole life has been planned for me and up until now I have known what I am going to do but please I am lost, and begging you don’t leave me”

She had never begged for anything in her life save for the time when she begged Michael to stay with her but this was different there was a unborn child involved and she was so scared that Alonso would go.

Alonse had felt fear many times in his life as well as excitement. But his heart beat faster at that moment than it either had before. He was a father? He was barely eighteen and he was a father? He had never planned to be a role model or show responsibility and despite his undying love for Nadiya his job took him away on... well dangerous business and assignments constantly, as did Nadiya's work away from him. He didn't know how to respond. He had never planned on this. He was a ladies man, not meant for children or to settle down. But he loved Nadiya and he would love this child no matter what. What was he going to do?

Alonso held his love tight in his arms, stroking her hair as he did. He whispered in her ear, "We are going to have a baby? I am so happy. I promise I will not leave you any more than work makes me. I will be in this apartment, waiting for you at every waking moment and will be at your call when you need me. I love yo Nadiya and I will love our baby as much as I can."

Alonso was overjoyed but than reality hit him in the face. "You have not told your husband yet? How do you plan to do that... or do you not plan to tell him? Tell me Nadiya, when are you going to tell him. He will notice that the child does not look like him." Alonso held his love closer. he would not let her or their baby go. They were both his, eternally. But what would they do now? He was you, on the run, a killer, a man of ever changing faces, and he had a child on the way. He tried not to show his worry as he held Nadiya but fear was pulsing through him as he tried to think of what to do. What had they done and how would they fix it?

She could tell he was afraid she was too more so then ever in her life everything seemed to just want to crash down around the two. Why could she not have married him then this would not be as big of an issue they could just carry on being happy about it. But no she was another man’s wife and could not be with the one she loved so completely it hurt when they were apart. It was not fair how life worked out in this case which lead back to her being in a cage thought.

Then there was the issue of what both her and Alonso did for a living it put any child they eve were to have even if not with each other in danger of being a target. They had to think of some thing to protect the baby and fast because when word got out that Nadiya Ivanov –De Luca was expecting the next family heir it would be hell in a hand basket with them in the thick of it. As he stroked her hair and held her though she cuddled to him arms going around him in a hug. She was more then content in his arms because it was there she truly felt at home ”I love you too.” They all were going to be okay they had to be there was no room for mess-ups now.

When he started asking questions that she knew would come she sighed but he had a right to ask and she had to answer him.”Nyet I have not told him” she had to think about this from all angles and most of them where not pleasant for anyone involved. ”There are ways I can go about this one would be to tell him and either A. let him think the baby is his B. On the off chance he would not think the child is his beg my mother for an break in the contract between the families again” she did not like either of those options to tell the truth This baby was Alonso’s and he and it deserved to be a family.

”Or there are the other two options and I say these next two because Matteo works long hours and then goes to his mistress that he thinks I never knew about and he has had since before we were married” she paused then. ”I could run away with you and go into hiding which would involve the plan we have had for years if one of the family ever had to stop leading us. Or I can do what was supposed to happen to Matteo the day I met him and kill him this is not fair to you or this baby you deserve to know your child and it you”
