Title: Modified W.O.M.B.A.Ts, Grade One
Description: [finished]

Sicila O'Dair - June 6, 2011 02:38 PM (GMT)
All inmates had been summoned to the dining hall, where tables were set not with food but with quills and ink pots. Sicila O'Dair stood near the door, waiting impatiently for everyone to take their seats.

"It has been determined," the Warden stated when everyone was quiet, "by order of the latest International Wizarding Conference that aptitude tests ought be assigned in order to determine the effectiveness of the educational means and methods utilized by Furiae Correctional Facility."

She sounded as if she were quoting directly from something.

"Therefore, you will all fill this out. You have one hour. Cheating will be recognized - and penalized - immediately. Write neatly and clearly. You will not be penalized for incorrect answers, so it behooves you to answer all questions even if incompletely. You may be awarded partial credit for partial answers."

The woman glanced at her watch. She lifted a roll of parchments in one hand and released them - they flew through the air, splitting off and landing in front of each inmate.

Sicila said, "Begin."

OOC: You will be awarded THIRTY THREE POINTS for replying (be certain to reply to the House Points thread once you have posted; you are responsible for tracking your own points). Post with an opening "roleplay" and then post the test and answers in a quote block. Leave all questions. For multiple-choice questions, remove all answers but your chosen answer. Your post will later be modified and "graded" for possibly additional points if your answers are particularly well-thought out. Some, but not all, of these questions are based in canon; many questions you will need to at least partially invent answers for.

Valkyrie Black - June 6, 2011 09:28 PM (GMT)
Valkyrie had showed up, albeit reluctantly and with no real desire to be there, to the chow hall when summoned by the Warden. Summonings by the Warden very rarely meant good news, and it was well known that if it was, she didn’t even require you to be there. Promotions were often handed out without the recipient even there, so if the inmates were required somewhere, it usually wasn’t for what they would see as a “good” reason.

She groaned softly and slouched back in her chair. An exam. This most assuredly did not fall into the category of good news. She hated tests, quite vehemently in fact. Actions spoke louder than words, and all an exam was was a large collection of words that didn’t prove you could do anything. All it proved was that you could say the right things, remember the right things, but not necessarily do anything.

However, through her frustration, she also realized that doing this exam, and doing well, would earn her favor with both the Warden and the Ministry, and that kind of favor was what would help get her out of this damn facility and back to her own life. Sighing once more, V grabbed her quill and started working.

PART ONE
Social Sciences and Law

1) True or False: It is illegal to send mail-bearing owls across international borders unless the owl has been granted authorisation. False

2) When given only the ability to use an unorthodox method of transportation, which would be considered the most serious breach of the International Statute of Secrecy? Why? (Thestrals, Abraxan horse-drawn giant carriage, Hippogriff, Flying Muggle vehicle, Underwater ship). Hippogriff, because the Thestrals are invisible to anyone who has not seen death first hand, so most Muggles wouldn’t even see it, an underwater ship would not be seen because it’s underwater, if not flying an Abraxan horse-drawn giant carriage could pass as a normal carriage, a flying Muggle vehicle could be driving as a normal vehicle, but a hippogriff comes straight out of Muggle mythology, and thus would be the most difficult to disguise or explain away.

3) Which of the following would be be most SEVERELY punished by the Wizengamot? Explain.
d. The use of the Imperious curse on a Muggle mugger.
The use of any of the Unforgiveable Curses would be the most severely punished, but the use of one on a person over an animal would be more severely punished.

4) Which of the following should receive the LIGHTEST punishment from the Wizengamot? Explain.
a. Horns created accidentally on a culprit's mother, caused by broken wand.
It’s a broken wand, which means the culprit had little to no control over what they were doing.

5) Which magical law is in the greatest need for reform?
c. The re-classification of centaurs and merpeople (ought to take their views into account)

6) Which famous modern-day witch has earned the nickname 'Babbitty' by media sources? What does this comparison say about the state of world affairs?

a. 3%

8) True or False: It is legal for a hag to eat a child, as long as the child is less than 35kg (about 80lbs). False

9) Which of the following does NOT require a Ministry of Magic license?
c. House-elf ownership.

a. Africa

15) Name four of the most commonly recognized "mood colors" of a Streeler (and give their moods). Red=angry. Blue=calm. Green=happy. Purple=sleepy.

23) True or False: In general, the newest studies in medicine suggest that a Cheering Charm a day keeps the Healer away. Sure, true.

24) Which has been found to be the most effective method to remove the juice of a sopophorous bean?

37) What has been called the most influential book of the first millennium? Have you read it? If yes, summarize briefly. Don’t know, and I know I haven’t read it.

38) What were the ramifications of the decision made following the arrests of the half-ogres Oleg the Mighty and Olaf the Grim in the 19th century?

Valkyrie looked over the test as she finished writing. Okay, well, she hadn’t answered all of the questions. Hell, she’d only given half an effort on the other half. She’d tried… sort of. But, as previously mentioned, she didn’t like tests. At all. Eh. Shrugging, she took it up to the Warden.

“There you go. Mostly finished it.”

Carmella Chou - June 6, 2011 09:54 PM (GMT)
Carmella was summed the chow hall. she went with out questioning it she thought that it was going to be a good thing so she just went.

When she got there she sat down. The warden said that there would be a test. They where giving the test and the quills. She started reading the questions. after she got to the bottom of question 4 she gave up. she couldn't be bothered and she didn't like that they had dragged her in to it.

She then turned the test paper over and started drawing the Warden. Carm wasn't that bad at drawing but it wasn't the best either. she made it look a bit like the devil with a few horns and tail. Carm thought it was funny but she knew the Warden wouldn't see it that way.It wasn't like Carm cared what the Warden thought of her pretty picture anyway's.

After she had finished the drawing she curled up on of the corners using the quill. She then rested her head down in her arms on the table blowing the paper. She was bored and had to be here for an hour and wanted to do something to past the time. It was best she could think of when she couldn't sleep.

Frondie Engel - June 6, 2011 11:46 PM (GMT)
After all inmates were summoned to the Chow hall, Frondie didn’t have a good feeling about it at all. Mostly because she hadn’t done anything as far as good behavior, and as far as she knew neither had anybody else in her house of strangely mixed creatures, so she knew that there was no promotions heading her way; no announcement that her days at Furiae had come to an end and she’d be able to return to her sunny life in good ol’ Californie. Nope, something bad was happening. Perhaps they were planning to announce that instead of serving good, all inmates would be required to hunt and poach their meals from now on. Glorious.

Entering the large room she sat at the table alone, her long curly hair shrouding her golden and beautiful face. Her dark chocolate eyes stared at the wood, her ears listening to the faculty member but she never looked at her. Papers and quills appeared and a deep sigh escaped her lips. Well, might as well do my best, perhaps if I’m smart enough they’ll release me. This was her final thought before putting quil to parchment and beginning to fill in her answers.

I would definitely have to say a flying muggle vehicle: Only because thestrals would be hard to spot, and abraxan carriage could be mistaken for a strange cloud formation, a hippogriff—again, hard to spot. As for an underwater ship? The only muggles you’d have to worry about are scuba divers, and that shouldn’t be difficult to avoid.

3) Which of the following would be be most SEVERELY punished by the Wizengamot? Explain.
    a. The injury of three Muggles due to a poorly performed Forgetfulness Charm.

4) Which of the following should receive the LIGHTEST punishment from the Wizengamot? Explain.

6) Which famous modern-day witch has earned the nickname 'Babbitty' by media sources? What does this comparison say about the state of world affairs?
The only babbitty I’ve ever heard of is Babbitty Rabbity, from the children’s story.

7) What percentage of wizards and witches believe that Weather-Modifying Charms should be regulated due to their effect upon the environment? (Figures collected by the Committee for Experimental Charms)

9) Which of the following does NOT require a Ministry of Magic license?
    c. House-elf ownership.

PART TWO
Natural World

11) Draw a sketch depicting one or more of the hazards of handling the Silverfanged Fig without proper protection. Additional points may be awarded for a counter-drawing showing the proper protective gear. It is not necessary to use shading techniques.
    user posted image

12) Of the following small creatures, which would you CHOOSE to accompany you on a perilous journey? Explain why. (Augurey, Crup, Jarvey, Kneazle, Murtlap, Niffler, Runespoor)
This is a tough decision considering the different uses each creature could propose, including companionship, treasure hunting, and healing some minor injuries. In the end I chose the Runespoor. It is large, and thus protective considering it would be accompanying me so I feel it’s safe to assume it has no interest in eating me with one of its three heads. Also, it’s eggs could serve as nourishment as well as assisting in keeping me sane.

13) Wild Fwoopers may be found in which country?
    a. Africa

14) True or False: Many giants are cannibals. True

15) Name four of the most commonly recognized "mood colors" of a Streeler (and give their moods).
Orange – Calm. Red – Infuriated. Blue – Thoughtful. Green – Intrigued.

16) What are the characteristics used to distinguish a werewolf from a Muggle wolf? List at least four.
Shorter snout. Capable of standing on hind legs for some period of time. Fur texture is more varied and not as thick. Ears are larger and capable of hearing much more than a muggle wolf. Have less, but more sensitive whiskers.

17) Which of the following are considered AMORTAL (have never died, and can never die) by the Ministry of Magic?
    a. Dementors

18) Name three traits common of river trolls.
Violet in color, quite hairy, and has short stout horns protruding from its ugly skull.

19) Explain the best method to put out a dragon fire.
    Skillful use of Aguamenti.

20) True or False: House elves are not found in the wild. False.

PART THREE
Everyday Magic

21) In your opinion, which is the most effective wand core to date?
    e. All of the above

22) How frequently must a pregnant hippogriff be fed to ensure the health of the calf? What plant do you recommend to be added to the diet during the final three weeks?
A pregnant hippogriff lays an egg after a short period of gestation inside the mother, as the egg only remains for 24 hours before the calf exits it’s shell. I would say a pregnant hippogriff would eat every 30 minute to 1 hour, depending on the size of the female and her diet before the pregnancy. I would recommend, just before the egg is layed that she eat plenty of soybeans, nuts, or other oily plants for the vitamin Coq10, which is highly beneficial.

23) True or False: In general, the newest studies in medicine suggest that a Cheering Charm a day keeps the Healer away. True.

24) Which has been found to be the most effective method to remove the juice of a sopophorous bean?
    c. Crushing

25) True or False: Most wizards believe that putting a spoonful of salamander blood on a blister will painlessly burn it off. True

26) Assuming that your wand has been stolen by garden gnomes, list three other remedies for healing a broken heart.
I swear you guys just think we’re all idiots and you’re just messing with us now.

27) What is the most effective method to clean up a spill of Wartcap Powder?
A nice hefty cleaning charm. Or transfigure the powder into a bucket of water.

28) Without the use of magic, describe how you would outwit a graphorn.
    A rubix cube.

29) True or False: It is possible to cause a tiny explosion by pairing a Secrecy Sensor and an Auto-Vanisher. True

30) Describe in detail the exact procedure experts recommended to escape from a Flaming Hornfang.
    Apparate.

PART FOUR
History

31) True or False: The Hover Charm is one of the earliest documented spells in the wizarding world. True

32) Describe the history behind the Wiggenweld Potion.
Muggles have called it Sleeping Beauty.

33) What was most likely the cause of the sudden rise in attacks by brackish Merpeople in the 1700s?
The music of that time was equally brackish.

34) True or False: Elsbeth the Pure is the only known witch who successfully tamed and used a unicorn as a mount. False

35) After being exiled from his homeland in the mid-1400s, which Russian wizard went on to become wildly despised throughout China? What following international incident did he cause?
Merlin. Exploiting wizardry to muggle kind worldwide.

36) Of the seven major goblin wars in Europe in the 15th century, which had the most influence on changes to the local area? Name at least two major combatants.
    ??

37) What has been called the most influential book of the first millennium? Have you read it? If yes, summarize briefly.

Fallon Pollock - June 7, 2011 04:21 AM (GMT)
As always, our heroine, the well-meaning - if slightly awkward - Fallon Pollock, followed the crowd into the mess hall when summoned, her brow furrowed, a question stuck there. She was intrigued. Usually when all of the inmates were herded into a centralized space it meant that somebody was going to die painfully, or something bad had happened, or that the school was on fire. She was slightly nervous, and found herself searching around for her sister, her mouth hanging open slightly as she scanned the masses for a glimpse of someone who looked like Harper. She didn't see her anywhere. She tugged on her ponytail nervously, wondering if this was the day she was finally going to find out why the Warden, who she adored in an odd, hero-worshippy sort of way, seemed to secretly despise her when she hadn't even done anything!

Today was not that day. When she found out that they were only taking a test she actually giggled. She hadn't taken an exam in so, so, so long! The last exam she'd taken before she was arrested was this really hard Transfiguration test. She sucked balls at transfiguration. She completely bombed the practical portion, but she thought that the written part had gone fairly well. Well, she figured she'd get enough partial credit for it to add up to a decent grade. She hated exams, though. She was always second guessing herself, and they were so arbitrary! Harper was much better at tests because Harper always studied. Harper was also boring as hell.

It kind of felt nice, in a way, to be doing something that she'd done back at school – that is, until the got to the second question and remembered why she disliked tests in the first place. If she failed a basic, stupid test that was supposed to be for first graders (because didn't it say grade one? Like, six year olds? That kind of grade one?) she was going to cry. Well, chances were she'd probably cry sooner or later anyway for an unrelated reason, so maybe it would be better to just get it out of the way. Besides, she was definitely going to do better than Harper because Harper wasn't even there! Ha! She felt good about this.

I think that it's probably hippogriffs, because we used to own hippogriffs and we had to have all of these disillusionment charms up because otherwise owning hippogriffs is illegal. Every year this wizard came to maintain the charms so that when the ministry came to inspect them we didn't get the hippogriffs taken away. My dad sold them, though, so if they changed the law then this might not still be right, but I'm pretty sure it is. If it's not, I think I deserve some partial credit because I'm pretty sure it used to be right. If I took this test five years ago it would definitely be right. And besides, I haven't been allowed to read any newspapers for a long time so I don't know about anything that's going on in the world, including whether or not any laws have been changed, so that's the best I can say, anyway.

3) Which of the following would be be most SEVERELY punished by the Wizengamot? Explain.
d. The use of the Imperious curse on a Muggle mugger.

I believe that this is correct because there are a lot of ways to stop muggers without using unforgivables, which are illegal and do more damage than muggers. Technically if you use the unforgivable then you are worse than a mugger, and being a mugger is already pretty bad. I personally think that anyone who uses the unforgivables on harmless animals like sharks should face the same punishment, but because of this awful world we live in, it just isn't true. I think that if this is incorrect that I should get partial credit because I care about these issues a lot.

4) Which of the following should receive the LIGHTEST punishment from the Wizengamot? Explain.
a. Horns created accidentally on a culprit's mother, caused by broken wand.

I think that this is correct because it is an accident, and nobody should get in trouble for an accident. Also, if it's your mother then she probably should be able to just fix it herself (or your brother or your neighbor or someone could do it) and not even have to call the ministry or go to the hospital or anything, so why would the Wizengamot even care? The Wizengamot should have a lot of better things to do than that, especially because the legislation surrounding goblin rights is really jacked up and somebody really needs to work on that. Also werewolves. I think that if this is incorrect then I deserve partial credit because of my opinions.

5) Which magical law is in the greatest need for reform?

c. The re-classification of centaurs and merpeople (ought to take their views into account)

Also I think that they need to stop oppressing a lot of other marginalized groups, like goblins and werewolves, which I wrote about already. This is definitely true, and if you don't believe me then you should talk to them sometime and see, because it's a really serious problem. This is definitely true, so I think I should get partial credit if it is wrong, because I have been working on these issues for a long time and I know how important it is.

6) Which famous modern-day witch has earned the nickname 'Babbitty' by media sources? What does this comparison say about the state of world affairs?

As I already said, I haven't been allowed to read the newspaper for a very long time. I used to get the Hanover Howler at school everyday, but they won't actually tell us where this place is so I can't subscribe to the local paper because I don't think there is one. But anyway, I can't answer current event questions because I don't know anything about current events. I think I should get partial credit on this answer because there is no way for me to have known since I've been here a long time.

7) What percentage of wizards and witches believe that Weather-Modifying Charms should be regulated due to their effect upon the environment? (Figures collected by the Committee for Experimental Charms)

b. 33%

It's my opinion that a lot of people are ignorant about things that effect the environment, and generally mother nature is a lot wiser than any wizards I know, so I think that this number should be higher, even if it isn't. I think we really need to educate people on the effects of too many weather-modifying charms, and I think I should get partial credit if this is wrong because I really care about the environment.

8) True or False: It is legal for a hag to eat a child, as long as the child is less than 35kg (about 80lbs). false

If this is wrong then I think I should get partial credit because eating children is really bad.

9) Which of the following does NOT require a Ministry of Magic license?
c.House-elf ownership
If this is wrong then I think that I should get partial credit because my family has a house elf and we don't have a license but we never got arrested for it. I hope that you don't arrest my parents because I wrote this, especially because a lot of my family is already in jail, such as me and my sister. My big sister might also be in jail by now but I don't know because, as I mentioned, they don't send the newspaper here.

10) Briefly describe what the landmark decision in Summoner vs. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry means to you. I actually don't think it means anything to me because I didn't go to Hogswarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I went to SWI, but I don't anymore. I think I should get partial credit for this answer because there isn't any way that I could know since I never went there.

PART TWO
Natural World

11) Draw a sketch depicting one or more of the hazards of handling the Silverfanged Fig without proper protection. Additional points may be awarded for a counter-drawing showing the proper protective gear. It is not necessary to use shading techniques.

Fallon's eyes lit up when she saw that the eleventh question required a drawing, and she grinned to herself as she set to work. Drawing was one thing that she absolutely, without a doubt knew that she could do. She found herself somewhat unsure about the answers to all of the other questions, but she knew about plants and about drawing, which basically guaranteed that she'd get this one right! Despite the fact that the question said that shading was not necessary, Fallon spent the remainder of the hour drawing an incredibly realistic but stylized graphic representation of an ambiguous teenage girl getting her bare hand impaled by a silverfanged fig. Her facial expression was grotesque and she couldn't help but grin to herself as she drafted that little detail – she was quite proud of herself. Fallon didn't typically use quill and ink to draw, but she'd spent so many hours of her life doodling during lectures back at school that she had an incredible mastery over shading techniques using the nub, and there was a great deal of delicate, responsive crosshatching in the image. It was fit for framing. Unfortunately, she was still working on it by the time the hour was up and she hadn't gotten to any of the other questions.

For a moment she panicked, but she was confident that her depiction was good enough to earn her all of the points she needed. Besides, didn't the Warden say that this didn't count for anything? Or something? Whatever. Still, feeling a pang of nerves, she quickly scribbled a few words beneath her drawing: ”I think that I should get extra credit because I used shading techniques anyway. Also, it's a really good drawing.”

Martin Lafayette - June 9, 2011 08:18 PM (GMT)
Another day, another test, another thing the Warden insisted they do. Martin really didn't mind these sorts of things - he'd been here long enough to understand that they were a required part of life. Some higher up snob demanding statistics and papers, no doubt. With a sigh, he set to work. Best to get these things out of the way as quickly as possible.

PART ONE
Social Sciences and Law

1) True or False: It is illegal to send mail-bearing owls across international borders unless the owl has been granted authorisation.
True

2) When given only the ability to use an unorthodox method of transportation, which would be considered the most serious breach of the International Statute of Secrecy? Why? The flying Muggle vehicle would be the most serious breach because it is a Muggle item, and therefore more likely to be noticed by Muggles. Animals like hippogriffs might escape close scrutiny, someone possibly assuming it is a large bird, and Thestrals might not be seen at all, because they can only be seen by people who have seen death. Underwater ships are not a danger because they are underwater and cannot be seen by most, and the carriage usually flies at very high altitudes.

3) Which of the following would be be most SEVERELY punished by the Wizengamot? Explain.
d. The use of the Imperious curse on a Muggle mugger.
Not only is the Imperious curse a forbidden curse, using it on a Muggle is another huge violation.

4) Which of the following should receive the LIGHTEST punishment from the Wizengamot? Explain.
d. Underage witch performs Cleaning Charms in privacy of own home.
As the cleaning charms have not revealed magic to any Muggles, disfigured anyone, or harmed anything, this would receive the lightest punishment.

5) Which magical law is in the greatest need for reform?
c. The re-classification of centaurs and merpeople (ought to take their views into account). Even though they don't look like us, they do have thoughts, emotions, and feelings. They can converse in our language, as well as their own, and clearly have a society, family groups, and a code of rules. This makes them just as worthy of rights as us.

6) Which famous modern-day witch has earned the nickname 'Babbitty' by media sources? What does this comparison say about the state of world affairs? Unfortunately the Furiae facility does not allow outside media to come into the walls. I have been sentenced here for a long period of time and have not heard any news for the past few years, so I cannot answer the first part of this. However, the name is from a fairy tale involving a witch, so this says that the world still views witches as conniving spellcasters who are just about to cause mischief or grant wishes. It also speaks to the view of witches as fictional characters.

7) What percentage of wizards and witches believe that Weather-Modifying Charms should be regulated due to their effect upon the environment? (Figures collected by the Committee for Experimental Charms)
c. 53%

8) True or False: It is legal for a hag to eat a child, as long as the child is less than 35kg (about 80lbs). False

9) Which of the following does NOT require a Ministry of Magic license?
c. House-elf ownership.

10) Briefly describe what the landmark decision in Summoner vs. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry means to you. See Question 6

PART TWO
Natural World

11) Draw a sketch depicting one or more of the hazards of handling the Silverfanged Fig without proper protection. Additional points may be awarded for a counter-drawing showing the proper protective gear. It is not necessary to use shading techniques. *insert badly drawn figure here* Martin, having no idea how to draw, merely did the best he could.

12) Of the following small creatures, which would you CHOOSE to accompany you on a perilous journey? Explain why. (Augurey, Crup, Jarvey, Kneazle, Murtlap, Niffler, Runespoor) I would use a Niffler. Unlike some creatures, like the Runespoor, the Niffler resembles a Muggle creature, the weasel, and it would not be easily seen as a wizard creature. It also can find you gold, and money is good on a long journey, because it can keep you supplied with food and weapons and whatever you need for the peril. My second choice would be a Crup, because they are so loyal and will survive on anything.

13) Wild Fwoopers may be found in which country?
a. Africa

14) True or False: Many giants are cannibals. True

15) Name four of the most commonly recognized "mood colors" of a Streeler (and give their moods).
Orange - hungry
Blue - calm or sleeping
Green - happy and well fed
Black - angry

16) What are the characteristics used to distinguish a werewolf from a Muggle wolf? List at least four. Blunter snout, less whiskers, larger ears, bushier tail. Also can stand up partially on hind legs and will charge and try to bite you. If you see a wolf, it's best to not get close enough to figure out the details.

17) Which of the following are considered AMORTAL (have never died, and can never die) by the Ministry of Magic?
a. Dementors

18) Name three traits common of river trolls. They live near rivers, enjoy eating fish, and tend to be stupid, but the least aggressive of the trolls.

19) Explain the best method to put out a dragon fire. Evanesco, the vanishing spell, would do the trick nicely.

20) True or False: House elves are not found in the wild. True

----------------------------------------

PART THREE
Everyday Magic

21) In your opinion, which is the most effective wand core to date?
c. Dragon heartstring

22) How frequently must a pregnant hippogriff be fed to ensure the health of the calf? What plant do you recommend to be added to the diet during the final three weeks? Pregnant hippogriffs should be fed every three hours, and you should add ginger to their diet to aid in health and digestion.

23) True or False: In general, the newest studies in medicine suggest that a Cheering Charm a day keeps the Healer away. True

Cheering charms, hooking up with another person, eating Lovage.

27) What is the most effective method to clean up a spill of Wartcap Powder? The Vanishing Charm

28) Without the use of magic, describe how you would outwit a graphorn. Graphorns have very bad eyesight, and because of their thick skin and heavy bodies they are pretty slow to turn and stuff. So I would just dodge about and be really quick, then slip behind it and hide.

29) True or False: It is possible to cause a tiny explosion by pairing a Secrecy Sensor and an Auto-Vanisher. False

30) Describe in detail the exact procedure experts recommended to escape from a Flaming Hornfang. Apparation

----------------------------------------

PART FOUR
History

31) True or False: The Hover Charm is one of the earliest documented spells in the wizarding world. True

32) Describe the history behind the Wiggenweld Potion. It was created by some guy on accident, then he shared it around with another guy.

33) What was most likely the cause of the sudden rise in attacks by brackish Merpeople in the 1700s? The invention and spread of boating and ships meant more harbor activity, and the Merpeople did not appreciate humans infringing on their waters.

34) True or False: Elsbeth the Pure is the only known witch who successfully tamed and used a unicorn as a mount. False

35) After being exiled from his homeland in the mid-1400s, which Russian wizard went on to become wildly despised throughout China? What following international incident did he cause? Vlad the Impaler ran rampant and created a large number of crimes, including releasing dragons upon the Chinese people and burning them to a crisp.

36) Of the seven major goblin wars in Europe in the 15th century, which had the most influence on changes to the local area? Name at least two major combatants. Gurthag the Ripper and Jamonacall the Thick were the two major combatants in the Battle of Burr Hill, now known as Burr Valley.

37) What has been called the most influential book of the first millennium? Have you read it? If yes, summarize briefly. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. It is a book about all the different creatures, where they are found, and how to deal with them.

38) What were the ramifications of the decision made following the arrests of the half-ogres Oleg the Mighty and Olaf the Grim in the 19th century? Many half breed wizards and witches are viewed as illegitamate for jobs and positions. Most of them have to keep their blood lines a secret.

39) Which (still unresolved) issue do most historians believe triggered the infamous goblin rebellion of 1612? Goblin rights and property taxes on the gold they keep.

40) True or False: Muggungus the Maddening is credited for being single-handedly responsible for ending the Vampire Uprising of 1842 in Koln, Germany. (If false, explain who was.) True.

Warning: This test has been instructed to ignite your hands upon detection of thoughts of cheating.

Dorian walked into the room and sat down. he had always hated these exams, thinking them a major waste of everyone's time. He picked up a quill and looked down, getting down to work. The sooner he got this over with, the sooner he could leave. That was all he wanted to to do and the only way eh could was by finishing this test and being allowed to leave. So he settled in and got to work.

Dorian put down the quill and sighed. He had BSed most of the answers out of sheer boredom. He didn't care about this test enough to put real effort into it. Instead he wrote what he truly thought and was now finished. He was supposed to stay for an hour and that had taken little time at all for him to finish. He lay his head down on the table and fell asleep. Might as well catch a few Zs while he was stuck here.

Ariya Loch - June 16, 2011 11:06 PM (GMT)
Squirming where she sat, Ariya frowned while she glowered at the ink pot and quill. Still the girl hadn't figured out how to use that thing, it gave her a lot of grief and there was usually ink splattered all over the letters she wrote to no one in particular at the ministry. There really was no point to these, could no one use a pen or a pencil around here? Where did all these birds come from?
Shuddering slightly at the thought, Ariya sighed and rolled her quill a bit, watching the feather brush against the desk and she jumped listening to Sicila's introduction as to why they were here. Tests...? She didn't even understand half of the classes.

Sighing quietly, she winced as the paper came to a stop at her desk and picking up the quill, Ariya hesitantly prodded her ink until she assumed there was some inside of the feather and she turned her attention to the test.
