First some links relating to the movie.

Trailer 2]

Plot: A group of people throw a party to celebrate their friend leaving. During the party, some fucking giant monster thing attacks New York. They video tape the thing, and after it is all over the camera is found. You take on the perspective of someone watching the video.

Which brings me to my next part.

Monster: Nothing is known about this monster, except it comes from the fucking sea. Beyond this is all basic guesses supported by facts. FAN concept art of the monster.

Now this ISN'T A a fucking Godzilla movie. The director confirmed that "America needs it's own Godzilla." in a recent interview. Now. Here is some actually footage of the monster, curtosy of the internet. In the 2nd trailer when all the military dudes are shooting it, you get a VERY SMALL GLIMPSE of it.

Some people believe that the monster could have some sort of grudge against women. This is seen when the monster usually attacks girls, and it rips off the SOL's head. But I find that prediction full of failure.

My Prediction about the monster: I think that the monster was awakened by the Deep Sea Drilling Company. It obviously comes from the ocean. Someone/thing drank the Slush-o and mutated into this giant beast who now wreaks havoc on the city. I believe that the monster was also drawn to New York by the large amounts of Slush-o being consumed. Maybe it needs it to survive...?

I'm seeing it opening night. Post your opinions, or predictions about the movie. smile.gif

i thought that since the camera is a handheld, it shouldn't have such crisp, clear hollywood quality picture. i believed it would much more suit the movie to have it done in the youtube iraq's helmet cam fashion.

Or maybe the August Underground fashion.
Shot on 9mm film.

Epic movie eitherway.

I hope the monster actually turns out to be one in the fan art.

New York has always been fucked

Fix't.

And it's supposed to be like the Blair Witch Project, so it has to be epic.

The only thing epic about the blair witch project was its failure.

It's about the horsemen of the apocalypse. Each thing that happens is in reference to each of them.

I saw the movie at a midnight show time. I thought it was fucking intense.
(SPOILER)Yes, you see the monster, no, the monster is not a mutant whale, and no, there aren't any over-sized crustaceans. However, the monster looks like something that would come out of Resistance: Fall of Man, the same goes for it's little minions.

Saw Cloverfield on opening night.

PACKED LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER. Even the steps on in the theater was packed. Any who.

ULTRA-SPOILER [WARNING: HAS INCREDIBLE AMOUNTS OF SPOILER. DO NOT COPYPASTA INTO LARGER FONT IF YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH THE MOVIE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.] ::

The movie starts out as a government-type (top secret) video file. It explains the content of the amateur video taken (which is the movie itself). Anyways, to the monster. The monster is a crab-like (I thought it was a spider) mutant, which poops out (I think) little minions of itself. Terrorizes city, yadda-yadda-yadda. Every main character in the movie dies, one by one (except for the couple. They both die together. Lovely). When you do watch the movie after seeing this spoiler, pay very close attention to the very end of the scene in the movie. Why? At the end of the movie, the scene is basically a month before the monster came to the Earth. Peaceful scenery of the ocean in Coney Island. Amateur camera-like of course. The camera shows the ocean, and if you pay real close attention, you will see something dropping into the ocean. In the movie, it's unnoticed by everyone. The camera faces the couple and the guy asks the girl about the day. The girl says, "Today was a pretty good day." They both smile, and supposedly (probably in unnoticeable font/color) it says "It's Still Alive." after the credits (which means we could have a sequel).

Blah. The two theatres in my town were sold out tonight, and last night. A couple of my friends got in, and said it was actually pretty disappointing. And I don't want it spoiled. :3
