okay lets assume you knownothing about rps and rpbs
.
The abbrevations

First of all rp stand for role play and rping role playing. Rpb stands for role play battle.One of the most important terms is ooc this stand for out of character. Finally sl stands for story line. Youd better get used to them as we will be using them a lot.

Role plays

Role play is the act of assuming the idenity a fictional character it may be one that you know(such as a person from a book or game eg squall from final fantasy viii.) If you create your own character you have less boundries, infact there are no boundries, you can play the character however you want(let me just remind you no sex prs please!). But if you cuse a character from a book or game or whatever you must keep them in context, eg if you choose to play squall you must keep is personality as from the game, if you do not do this you will be warned.

Role play battles

Role play battles pretty much follow the same premis as rps(remeber what that stands for smile.gif) However the difference is that you pretending to fight someone in an actual battle using a character you created, the most important rule in this kind of role playing is DO NOT CONTROL THE OTHER PERSONS CHARACTER! this can be anything from pretending the other character dodged a hit from making it seem like your character is industructable (this is called GOD MODDING and will be explained in more detail later.

Getting more indepth with created characters

When creating a character for a story line(sl) your options are unlimited basically the skys the limit!When you understand this you will become a much better rper. If you are creating a character for someone elses story line you must follow THEIR rules which will be posted in the top post.
However what is not acceptable is GOD MODDING, which was explained briefly earlier. To make it simple this is making your character industructable or having them do whatever you wish that does not comply with the creaot of the rp's rules, this is ruining an rp which otherwise would have been a lot o fun, i will give people a warning about however if they consistanly do it they may be banned from the rp forum for a certain amount of time.

So you want to create an rp or rpb?

There are two types of rp and rpb, the first is open which means it is open to anyone in the forum, the second is invite only this means you can choose who you want in the rp and decide who is not allowed in, however you must have a good reason for denying people acess to your rp/rpb. But before you do ANY of this you must create an ooc(out of character section for your rp, this must contain what the rp is about(the history and such), in as much detail as possible.The rules, you can post them in the actual rp instead but please say so if you are going to Also the bio's (biographies) go here, The biographies are information about your character you must use this template to create your character, you must first post them in the offcial profile thread

name:
gender:
age:
race:
class(optional):
weapon(if any):
spells/techniques(if any):
weaknesses/strengths:
abilties (such as as warrior may have hp+10% because of high defense), you can customize this to your own liking!:
Bio/history: this is addtional information about your character, try yo keep it detailed!
once you have finished and put it in the profile thread, if you want a rp you can just copy and paste it into the ooc section of an rp.

Finally don't forget to read the rules located here and post your profiles in here for the fantasy rp/rpbs and here for other role plays such as horror or sci-fi.

Well there's everything you need,if you need anymore help please feel free to pm and i will get back to you. Good luck! smile.gif
