Title: Lunch Time!
Description: Seungho

Taehyun Moon - July 8, 2011 11:15 PM (GMT)
It was lunch time, and after all that dancing Tae was really hungry. His poor stomach was growling as he went into the cafeteria. Not really knowing anyone as he had just arrived in this place, he moved shyly around. Some tables were full while only sets of three and two crowded tables. Finally, with a sigh of relief, he found a table in the back and ambled over there with determination. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to sit with someone, it’s just he was a bit shy around new people. And after what happened with his former best friend he got nervous to really make the first move lately. Sighing, he sat down on a seat in front of the table he picked and set his backpack on top of it. His backpack was pink with cute stuffed animal key chains dangling from the bag in every direction.

Unzipping the backpack he pulled out a brown bag that was crumpled up from being in the backpack. He set his backpack on the ground next to him, on his leg so he could feel it still being there. Then he rolled out his food carefully, making sure not to hurt anything since it was food he made. Lately he had been trying to make Western cuisine in the kitchen and he had made himself a hamburger, well two since he got hungry a lot with dancing. Then he made what they called brownies, a simple chocolate bread desert in which he decorated with icing. He had three of those as he licked them a lot. However, he had some Korean name-brand bottled tea and set it next to his food.

Everything was neat and in order, and he was pretty proud of himself. He made his lunch special for his first official day here and well, he was going to enjoy himself. His light long-sleeve pink shirt swayed as his body moved to finish setting up his home-made lunch. Smiling he began to pick at one of the brownies he had made and began to nibble on it, grinning with pleasure. It was so worth his paycheck as they were very sweet and the chocolate was just perfect. Of course it was his own food so the chef often tipped himself. Smiling happily he pulled off another bit of the brownie, stuffing it into his mouth, not noticing as crumbs decided to get attached to his cheeks that were flushed from the dancing.

Ah, lunch. It was quite possibly Seungho’s favorite time of day. Or was that breakfast? No, maybe it was dinner. Actually snack time! Yeah, snack time was his favorite, especially when he got to eat something sweet. At the moment the blonde haired boy had a lollipop shoved into the corner of his mouth, the bump in his cheek more pronounced as he pursed his lips together in a pout. He had just gotten done with his game of ‘peek-into-every-room-in-the-building’ and though he wanted to go peruse the courtyard, parking garage and other not-so-obvious areas, his stomach wouldn’t let him. As Seungho skipped his way into the cafeteria, light-footedly dodging people much to their dismay, he shoved a hand into the right pocket of his tan cargo shorts and yanked out his neon green and yellow wallet. Seungho paused in front of the kitchen area, eyeballing the foods offered. He wrinkled his nose. Sandwiches, salads and premade kimbap were made easy to grab but they also had a few dishes being cooked, mainly chicken, some fish, definitely none to his liking. With little hesitation Seungho abruptly turned and headed for the café in the corner.

His dark brown eyes lit up in absolute delight as he spied waffle after waffle in the display case. Now this was more his style. Seungho jumped in front of the next person entering the line and stuck his tongue out at them as they protested. He didn’t really care since he had totally gotten there first. The moment he got to the front of the line, practically hopping up and down, he chirped out speedily, ”House waffle. Iced chocolate….Please.” He added on the please almost as if it were an afterthought and quickly rifled through his wallet to yank out one of the fifty-thousand won notes his mother had tucked it. While he waited for his waffle to be made (Seungho always loved that they were made fresh) his eyes jumped around the room at random before the settled in on a brown haired boy in the corner. He was young. Seungho didn’t know him but he did know one thing. That boy had chocolate and Seungho wanted some.

Without a ‘thank you,’ Seungho snatched up his iced hot chocolate and house waffle (the special of the day – large waffle, two scoops of vanilla gelato, a whole banana, and caramel drizzle) and quickly made his way to the table. He set his tray down with a rather loud bang and plopped down right across from Taehyun. One hand reached up to adjust the black and green checkered flat bill cap topping his head while the other rotated the lollipop in his mouth. He stared at the boy (or, more particularly at his brownie) for at least a minute before he finally spoke, ”Hi. I’m Seungho. I like chocolate.” Seungho was never much one for tact and as he spoke his eyes darted towards a free brownie, a gigantic grin on his lollipop stuffed face. A free hand reached out to nudge a fork towards Taehyun, ”I’ll sshhaarreee.” he whined while giving the other boy his best puppy-dog eyes.

The first thing that happened was a loud banf that sounded, causing Tae to jump up surprise. He quickly looked up, almost dropping his brownie he had made and blushed. Oh dear, there was someone sitting with him. Okay, so he wasn’t ready yet to mess with the others here but it seemed fate had other ideas! Gulping slightly he gave a shy nervous smile and his tongue licked across his lips. “Uhm…hi there?” He spoke fidgeting with the brown before a piece broke off. He set the brownie on a napkin he had placed in front of him to set his food on since he didn’t exactly have a plate. Well, the guy seemed friendly enough, he looked different too, what an interesting fashion choice. Hm, maybe he could use some lime green finger nails and eye shadow that would work. Yes, Tae’s eyes could definitely see potential in Seungho’s looks.

Shaking his head and coming back to reality he couldn’t help but giggle slightly at the other’s actions. Ah? So it was for the brownie, well, eh had two so he didn’t mind sharing with the other. Actually, he was pretty proud of his cooking and would love an opinion on it. “I’d be happy to. Also I want what your opinion. I’ve been trying Western style cooking and this is my second batch. I burnt the first.” He blushed, beet red that time not meaning to spill out how he messed up the first time. But cooking was a lot like dancing, one just had to practice to keep getting better and better until they were great! Well he wanted to be at least good enough to become a dancing star. It was his dream and he was excited to be here to try and accomplish it.

“I’m Tae by the way!” he spoke, as he slid over the brownie to Seungho. Eagerly Tae watched his face for a reaction if it came. “And give me the honest truth too. I can’t improve if I don’t know if it’s good or still terrible. I mean I tasted it and my second batch seems okay.” Well now he was just rambling as he fidgeted with the napkin’s end. Yes, he really did want the older boy’s opinion. He wasn’t just saying that to be nice, any critic to help him on his paths was a trade enough for him. After all Seungho could be in the same money situation as him and he couldn’t take another’s food.

Seungho was so fixated on the brownie being pushed towards him that he barely heard what Taehyun said. The moment the brownie was within reach it was gone, stuffed completely in his mouth. The trainee had luckily managed to yank his lollipop out in time, though it was doubtful that its presence would have deterred him. He watched Taehyun steadily, his mouth so full that chocolate flaked at his lips and crumbs dropped to the table surface. Seungho tried to smile but utterly only succeeded in revealing chocolate stained teeth. Shutting his mouth completely the boy swallowed hard, finally clearing his mouth. It was rare that he got to experience such a treat. Brownies and baked goods in general were not common in Korean households, even a well-off family like his own. Baking was not a common practice by families, though a vast variety of pastry shops existed to satisfy individuals craving some bread or baked good. While Seungho ultimately preferred candy, if it was made out of chocolate he would eat it without hesitation.

The young boy quickly followed his snack up with a large gulp from his iced hot chocolate before he shoved his tray forward, practically pushing Taehyun’s own lunch into his lap to make way for the gigantic waffle Seungho had previously obtained. He snapped a hand out to grab Taehyun’s and pressed a fork into it, ”Eat. Eat.” Seungho wasn’t about to take no for an answer. He always shared everything and since this boy had been nice enough to share his heavenly brownie the least Seungho could do was return the favor. He smiled broadly, unaware of the chocolate that still coated his lips and stuck to the corners of his mouth. ”Your brownie was good, but chocolate is always good.” Seungho realized very quickly that his words sounded rude so he immediately attempted to rectify them, ”Mom doesn’t bake much. Brownies are hard to find so I don’t get them often. Thanks!” The speed and tone of his voice were akin to that of a chirping bird as he fidgeted in his seat.

Seungho didn’t stare at Taehyun long. Instead he picked up his spoon and immediately began digging in to his waffle. The blond teenager had about as much eating etiquette as a baboon and drips of gelato and pieces of waffle soon flecked across his bright green shirt. Luckily he managed to barely avoid dipping the sleeve of his black undershirt into the gelato topping his waffle, but honestly it was only a matter of time. In between bites with his mouth full and ice cream on his lips, Seungho chatted at his insane speed, ”Nice to meet you. I’m new. Trainee. I haven’t seen you before. I would remember. You new too? How old?” His sentences were short and choppy, but the gleam in his eye gave off the impression that he was very eager to learn about his new friend.

Watching Seungho with wide eyes he couldn’t believe how quickly the brownie had disappeared. He blushed, giggling softly at amusement as the other had completely devoured his food. Well, hopefully that was a good sign as he rubbed the back of his neck shyly. It wasn’t everyday people ate his food, and well, he just was glad someone was sharing his food with him. It made him homesick, and he wished he could be with his mom. But he had been a burden enough on her and he was going to make it out on his own one way or another. Maybe it was why he loved cooking for others, it made him feel useful when he wasn’t working. Cooking was also one of the best ways for Taehyun to release any stress he had, well, aside from dancing because sometimes his stress was about his dancing.

He jumped and quickly caught the food before it fell completely in his lap, and he became a bright red. “I’m fine, really! Thanks though.” While Seungho liked to share food with others, Taehyun felt guilty about taking another person’s food. He didn’t know the other boy’s financial situation and so it made it even more uncomfortable for him. Taking a bite of his hamburger it was not cold, warm from being in the hot bag. Smiling happily he watched the other with a tilt of his head. Then he couldn’t help but giggle as he noticed the bits of chocolate around the other’s mouth. However, he grinned and gave a nod. “Ah I see. I used to cook for mom all the time since she had to work two jobs and all.” Nodding his head he understood and brownies were indeed hard to fine.

As he was about to eat more of his hamburger he watched the other eating, unable to look away. Biting his lip he wanted to keep from laughing, it was rather cute how messy the other was. Then he was glad when the other spoke, making him swallow his food down. “I’m a trainee, just arrived as well. I’m a dancer, what are you aiming to be here? And…I’m sixteen. I mean I know I am young but well this is my dream.” He said with confidence, then sighed.

Seungho felt a little disheartened when Taehyun continued to reject his offering, but it didn’t affect him for long. After all, that just meant that there would be more waffle for him! Seungho barreled through his waffle like a champ – more than half of it was gone at this point and it was dubious whether or not he was actually chewing the large pieces he shoved into his mouth. The boy paused only long enough to wipe his face with a napkin (he couldn’t be a total slob, now could he?) before he resumed eating, his ears and eyes pretty much trained in on Taehyun. ”My mom never works. Seungho mumbled through his food, managing to spit up quite a bit across his plate. He wiped at it furiously with his dirty napkin, spitting out another ”Sorry” in the process.

By the time Taehyun was done talking, Seungho had finished his waffle. He gulped down his iced hot chocolate with little regard for the miniature brain freeze it gave him and then shoved his tray off to the side. Only when he propped his elbows onto the table did he realize just what a mess he had made of his surroundings. He picked at some pieces of waffle stuck to his shirt and pouted slightly, ”Mom is going to yell at me again.” Though it was a common occurrence, Seungho didn’t fancy the tongue-lashing he would receive for his dirty clothing. His brain was quick to formulate a plan, and with a triumphant smile on his face Seungho ripped off his outer green shirt to reveal his plain black long-sleeved undershirt. There. Now all he would have to do would be to dispose of the evidence. The young boy balled the shirt up and tucked it into his lap. It could wait till later.

Once again Seungho leaned forward, his wide eyes watching Taehyun eat his hamburger, ”Dancer…dancer…” Seungho gnawed on his lower lip, ”That’s cool. I can’t dance well. I like to sing. I want to dance but I need more practice. Are you good? I bet you are good. What kind of dance?” Once again he prattled off a barage of questions with little concern for whether or not the sheer number would intimidate his friend.
