You’ll find a number of discussion topics spanning characters, all of your favourite ships, alongside an RPG and a place for both fanfiction discussion and recommendations and posting your Downton related graphics. RPG
The year is 1916 and the war is raging throughout Europe, leaving the men fighting for their lives and the women manning the home front. The war has touched Downton deeply and now the Crawley family and their servants are feeling the ramifications. The days of frolicking in the sun and living the life of luxury are over and hardships and turmoil are affecting each and every one of them. Come along and join in – there are main characters still free and plenty of others too. We’re happy to let you fill in the story so far but we’re now running an AU of Series 2. Enjoy!

With so many wonderful characters in Downton Abbey, they wouldn't all fit in one poll!
So vote for your favourite upstairs character now and then don't forget to nip downstairs and vote for them too in the next poll.
Feel free to post the reasons for your choice, but please leave all in-depth discussions of the characters for their own boards.

I wonder if anyone can guess who I voted for.
I'll give you a clue - he has blonde hair and blue eyes and a very lovely voice.
Oh and he also happens to be heir to Downton Abbey!
Ahhh, Matthew Crawley - not only for the looks, but he's such a great guy and I love how he tries so hard to fit in, yet still maintain his own sense of self and dignity.

I am madly slightly in love with Matthew (so rare to get a male lead who isn't genuinely decent and honourable) but I would pay money to watch a show consisting of Mary watching paint dry so I guess that helps the decision out a bit.

I totally agree with you!!!!!! Violet scenes are always guaranteed to make me roll on the floor with laughter!!!!!!!  I'm beginning to watch any films only because they have Maggie in it.  (Though I didn't vote for her  ) Violet always has opinions on EVERYTHING!!!!!! I totally love her xD

They're all awesome!
I voted Matthew, just because he's absolutely wonderful in every respect!! *dreamy sigh*
But I also really like Mary, she's so fascinating (if not always likeable!).
And Violet has awesome lines..
They're just all fantastic!!!!

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Robert. I think the actor is fantastic, and he had me from his description of Downton as "my third parent and my fourth child." I find his struggles between love and duty so captivating. Plus, he's the biggest Matthew/Mary 'shipper of them all!

I always thought he was being sneaky in ep4 when Violet has just left, and Robert goes to bed but purposefully tells Carson not to disturb Matthew and Mary til they ring! Lol!!
I think his conversation with Matthew in ep7 about Mary is incredibly cute. In fact, I love most of the scenes with Robert and Matthew. What a bromance!! And those scenes where Matthew is really coming to terms with his new position and finding out what the estate means to him, with Roberts help - oh I really like them!
Plus (sorry I'll stop rambling in a sec...) - how awesome is his dog! I love how it follows him adorably around. You can just imagine him inspiring loyalty in a dog. Lol.
