Title: A note of remembrance.
Description: RIP Sarah Jane
Scarlet - April 20, 2011 01:09 AM (GMT)
I know she's nothing to do with this show (excepting having the slashiest love/hate relationship with Samantha Bond ever) but I'd like to take a moment to remember the late Elisabeth Sladen.
As an television geek will know Lis played Sarah Jane Smith, the companion of the Fourth Doctor (and several others, but primarily Four) and main character in her own spin-off show (that was much superior to Torchwood). She lost a struggle with cancer yesterday morning and I would like to commemorate a true icon of British television and invite you all to do the same.
Goodbye, *my* Sarah Jane!

And my Sarah Jane as well.
I cried for a straight hour when I found out, and I'm still sporadically bursting into tears.
I will never, ever forget her.

She was such an inspiring person, when you think about it. I had no idea she had cancer, I don't think anyone did. And she kept doing her very actiony job through the whole thing, not letting it get the better of her.
Rest in peace, Lis.

Oh Lis.
You shouted at a six year old in pink velvet track pants and I loved you for it. You shall be missed.

Though I don’t who Elisabeth Sladen was I hope no one mind but I have huge respect and admiration for people who have cancer and to those whose life’s has being taken away by cancer. I also think it is awesome that Elisabeth Sladen kept on living to the full till the end.
n.b. the reason why I have respect and admiration for cancer suffers and survivors is because I know what is like to see a beloved person wear away due to cancer. My dear granny died because of cancer.
Rest In Peace Elisabeth Sladen @--'---

I don't normally feel so very affected by deaths of public figures except in passing, but Lis Sladen's death has lingered more than most. It was absolutely shocking - did anyone know she was? What courage to carry on as normal producing such wonderful TV as The Sarah-Jane Adventures in such circumstances.
Requiescat in pace, Lis.
