anne kaeya watanabe

she's twenty-three, in her final year at the university studying library science, and works part-time as a piano instructor for children (chances are she doesn't even get paid for half the students she instructs, but minor details). she's quiet, reserved, and not overly confident in herself. she currently lives with her sister and brother-in-law... and things are oh so complicated at home right now.

FRIENDS, ALLIES, AND THE IN-BETWEEN

for the most part anne gets along with most, if not all, people. she's friendly, she's polite -- even if someone says something against her, she's not likely to anything more than give an awkward smile as if it's a joke. she's definitely a pushover. if someone asks her for a favor, she'll do it regardless of what else she has on her plate, or her own feelings on the matter. she's much better at being a little more open when she's doing a one-on-one thing with a friend -- when it's more than one person, however, anne tends to clam up. not that she speaks her mind a whole lot anyway. she has a best friend in claire miyoshi, but depending on how much blame she places on claire for other things, that could easily fall apart, and anne would be in need of some friends, preferably closer in temperament to herself.

CRUSHES, LOVERS, AND THE ROMANCE

i don't think anne has done a whole lot of dating before. maybe once or twice -- double dates with claire, or back in high school, but for the most part she's steered clear of that whole thing. dating makes her uncomfortable because she's not likely to think of herself as much fun, nor does she like to go party. anne is a bit of a prude. unfortunately, due to peer pressure by claire, anne has tried going out a bit more, drinking more than she should... and however it happened, anne ended up sleeping with her brother-in-law. that's popped open a whole can of worms within her, and she hasn't figured out how to proceed around him... because, yes, she did harbor a bit of a crush on eos when he and aurora first began dating, likely because he was nice to her, and now this.

RIVALS, FOES, AND THE ENEMIES

it's hard to see a lot of people not getting along with anne, or disliking her. i guess i can see people thinking she's an easy target, and using her for their own gains... but i have no idea to what ends. if you have something that would work, go ahead and let me know. as it is, anne doesn't do much to garner unwanted attention from people, nor does she ever stand up against others.

FAMILY, PARTNERS, AND ODDS AND ENDS

she has aurora, who happens to be thirteen years older than her. aurora had to basically raise anne after the death of their parents, and there are times when it's hard to tell whether they're really sisters, or mother-daughter. anne loves her sister, and feels that all of her past disappointments are a result of being a burden to aurora... and then there's eos, who is her brother-in-law, former half-crush, and now... yeah. having them around would be great. and whoever else we can fit in as having once known anne, or know her now.

grace - you know, for some reason i just have this odd idea of anne perhaps having once tried to tutor grace with the piano and her failing miserably and giving up. random, i know, but it's kinda gotten lodged in my brain. she doesn't like giving up, but if grace had gotten frustrated and irritated, she might have been a bit rude to anne in the process.

anthony - i can't really think of anything definitive here for these two. tony is a cop, so he's always out and about though so a randomness thread could always be a possibility. otherwise though, i'm not too sure.

luna - she does spend a lot of time at the library and, if anne is in any way similar, they could perhaps meet each other there. they could be all interested in books together, since luna does have quite the fascination with english literature, so there's some possible threading there.

jesse - like tony, jesse's always around town thanks to his job (and three younger siblings sometimes) but perhaps anne could be a tutor to one of his boss' kids and they could meet that way? i think he'd like her, she's not crazy like other people he knows, and he's a nice guy. they'd probably get on alright and could have a couple of conversations when their paths cross if you're interested?

Amara!

They are both the same age and play the piano but don't really run in the same circles. Maybe one of the first clubs Claire took Anne at was the one Mara works at? It's a more laid back and classy place and would be easier to drag someone to first before hardcore clubs and party places. I don't know, Mara would have been nice and probably flirted a little bit. If they run into each other now she won't, not liking to with prudish or uncertain people it's no fun. She does have some tact and doesn't like making people that uncomfortable. Most likely she'll leave Anne alone then but will be polite if she ran into her.

Neil!

Probably won't have that much interaction. Anne doesn't strike me as the big shopping type and that's how he meets most people. Any random encounters and Neil will be nice. He's a good listener and I don't know how long a conversation two listeners would have but he does tend to go off on a tangent. Nothing much else I could think of.

anne/mina

i can't see much interaction with them, being in different circles and such...if they ever ran into each other, mina would probably just give her a small smile and continue on. and...yeah, that's all i got >.<

anne/apolla

i think these two have some similarities, so they could get along. i can't think of anything specific, but random encounters are fun~ maybe apolla's trying to get charles a job at the university forgodknowswhateverreason and they run into each other there? apolla would definitely be friendly, but wouldn't push her to into talking a lot.

grace -- i definitely like that idea. it probably would have been a few years ago, since anne's still fairly young -- but perhaps while she was in high school she was tutoring grace, and it frustrated her that someone would give up so easily, or not so easily -- anne like music, so to have someone decide not to pursue the piano might bother her. of course, it could just bother her that it was under her tutelage that grace gave up. any run-in's could definitely be awkward. i see anne asking if she ever went back to play the piano or something.

anthony -- agreed. it would be easier to have then run into one another and figure out options from there, like a monster attack or something. otherwise, unless claire has gotten into some trouble and needed bailing out, i'm not sure how often anne actually interacts with the police. unless her house is robbed in the future or something. or was.

luna -- i would suggest a book club, but i doubt anne would go since she's not good with groups of people. but i think having them meet at the library, and maybe share book recommendations or something, and develop a friendship that way would be entirely possible. at some point anne could open up a little, depending on how badly things go with claire and whatnot.

jesse -- we can definitely say she's tutoring the kids piano, or at least one of them, so then they'd at least know one another and be semi friendly with each other. if we ever get a giselle on board, they could eat lunch together in the kitchen or something. or elsewhere.

amara -- haha, if amara actually hit on anne, she would never even realize it. chances are claire would point it out later, and anne would be so embarrassed that if she ever ran into amara again, she would turn beet red and not know what to say. but i think once that was forgotten, or anne could at least pretend it never happened, they could have the piano and music to forge a sort of friendship over. maybe once michelle seriously enters amara's life, we could work out a sort of friendship that way -- i think anne and michelle would be more likely to be friends, and then we could insert ways for amara and anne to talk more, or something along those lines.

neil -- i think at best a random encounter for a birthday gift for her sister, or another sort of gift would work for any shopping type threads. otherwise, there's always a monster attack to throw them together, and then have anne dredge up bad memories about it and her and neil commiserate about it later on.

mina -- yeah, it's unlikely they'd really know one another at this point, so randomness should work fine until one of us comes up with an idea or something.

apolla -- they can definitely have run into one another on campus, and then later on remember one another at where apolla works -- anne would remember a friendly face. apolla might overwhelm her a bit at first, but i think she'd like how apolla is similar to claire in some ways, and since she's already friends with claire, it might make sense for her to get along with, or eventually be friends with someone like apolla.
