otherwise known as agents of the stars, associates are made through loyal hearts and strong wills. regardless of good or bad intentions, the souls destined to carry a star of power are granted special abilities akin to magic, allowing them to fight alongside soldiers and generals. weaker in power, they are aides in battle, stepping up to the plate when needed, acting almost as a bodyguard would. it is believed that these stars are meant to be given up, and only temporary in their carriers; but only time will tell.
when danielle looks into the mirror, it's hard to say who she's going to be that day. while she doesn't necessarily have a split personality disorder, she has severe mood swings that affect her to the point of making it seem like she's two very different people. on some days she's sweet as sugar, offering a helping hand, acting almost childlike in her enthusiasm to make people happy, but on other days she's a holy terror -- making lives miserable for those that piss her off. to be sure, pissing her off is the last thing anyone really wants to do. so when she sets her sights on professor tomoe, it's no surprise that her nails come out upon discovering that she has not only an ex-wife of his to contend with, but his personal assistant, and to some degrees, even his own daughter. it would be nice to say that there's really nothing to worry about -- but danielle has a bit of a record. she was once given a restraining order by an ex-boyfriend to stop following him, shortly after being caught keying his car. and why is she like this? well, danielle has always been the one rejected by others, laughed at, and poked fun of. deep down, the angry spells are merely a defensive mechanism that could probably be staved off if the right person could take her into their care and assure her that she's something special, too.
yui can be described as a very serious woman. she's always focused on her job, and little else, which could be why she doesn't have any friends and spends a lot of her time alone. pushed by her parents to be the absolute best, it's actually a surprise that she's ended up in the position of a guidance counselor at st. teresa's academy. many thought yui would have been the head of a corporation, and maybe she would have had her parents not gotten sick and she been forced to cut her college career short. now that they're gone, she's sort of stuck with the only job she could find, that of a guidance counselor. she's not even very good at it. she pushes the girls at her school to think with their heads, focus on careers and the future, and not all that trivial stuff like school or romance. it's no surprise that she's one of the most hated adults at the school, but no one would think such a fact would hurt yui. after all, she's never broken down before -- but yui is human, and because she's just as vulnerable as everyone else, she ends up breaking down to the last person she should have -- daniel suzuki. she'll pretend the tears never happened, and that she's never seen him before, but deep down, she has to admit that it's kind of nice to have someone worrying about her for a change.
you wouldn't think it by looking at her, but valerie wants to be a nun one day. she has always considered herself deeply religious, and likes the idea of being a modern day mother teresa... and perhaps prevent guys from constantly asking her out, or whistling at her on the street. it's made her fearful of men, which could also stem from someone groping her while drunk after a party. it wasn't anything serious, but being as close to her parents as she is, valerie has always remembered the situation with trepidation, and has further kept herself close to home where it's safe. and her parents are one of the reasons she can't just leave to join the convent; they rely on her to help with the bills now that her father is unable to work due to his back, and valerie is a dutiful daughter that does as needed. she still makes time for church, of course... although it's hard to say if that's because of her desire to be a nun, or due to the new parish priest, father logan, that has been invigorating the community. he's not like the men valerie has come to stay away from; he makes her smile, and in some ways, if she were a nun, she could probably be near him always. call her a late bloomer, but valerie isn't the sort to throw herself at a man of god. she can only do what she can to be close to him, and her parents, and try to keep herself happy, too.

lauren has been juggling her own life, and watching out for her sister's for quite some time now. being the sister to a famous pop star, it would seem odd that lauren has gone into journalism, but she's always been fond of writing -- although, working on horoscopes and gossip columns aren't really things she considers to be newsworthy. since she can't seem to scrape by a decent story to write about, it's only natural that she's able to spend much of her time helping other reporters edit their pieces, call up sources, and even spend extra time writing the story with them. and it's probably because of that precise reason that lauren has developed a bit of a crush on her boss, david tsukino. she always admired him for his work ethic, and for being such a nice guy, but she never once considered pursuing things -- at least not without knowing he was interested back. after all, if she spends all her time taking care of her sister, she'll only end up forgetting about herself, and lauren is the sort of woman that believes everyone deserves some kind of happiness, even in the most unconventional of ways.
mimi took america by storm when she came out into the music world a few years ago; she's been riding to international stardom ever since, and when her father's company was moved to japan she saw it as the opportunity of a lifetime. the only thing standing in her way is mina. she has taken a disliking to the girl for the simple fact that she's a rival with a larger fan base, and being liked in japan isn't turning out to be as easy as she thought it would be. she's getting too many comparisons to mina, the half of which call her a copycat. so it's no surprise that mimi will throw back the stops and go out of her way to try and make mina out to be ungrateful to her fans, all of which seems to disappoint her older sister. but the fact of the matter is mimi has always felt like the ugly duckling to both her sister, and in the pop music industry. people like her, but they don't love her, and mimi craves love. perhaps it's the fact that her mother left the family when mimi was only three, and she's been raised by her half sister instead. or perhaps its the fact that despite her "down to earth" image, the teen is just as lacking in self confidence when it comes to herself and those she's surrounded with. a part of mimi feels that unlike mina, she doesn't have real friends to call her own.
NINETEEN , POP SINGER , MIMETTE , "HALEY BENNETT"/"FREYA MAVOR"
a former member of the hino gang, tyler turned his life around after his girlfriend left six years ago, taking his son with him. since then he's dedicated himself to working as a sort of liaison between gang members and the church, helping get kids off the streets and either back into school, or with a steady job that will enable them to be dependent of the yakuza. it isn't always easy, especially since tyler happens to still be clashing with former friends still entrenched in the crime world. but tyler's learning to keep his temper in check; he works down at the local gym as a trainer, which is fitting since he used to use his fists as a way of making pay attention to him on the streets. the one thing he can't get out of his head, unfortunately, is his son -- he'd like to see him again, or at least get his ex back into tokyo so he can visit with the kid every once in awhile, or even just know where they are. but finding his ex isn't easy -- she didn't exactly leave a trail behind, which means in order to find her, tyler might have to actually ask for help -- and he's never been good about asking for help.

hiro seems to go through life unnoticed. he mostly keeps to himself, says very little, and dislikes attention. is it any wonder that he's a bit of a genius and a hacker? few know this about him, which is exactly how he likes it. when asked about work, he says he's a computer programmer, and in a sense, that's true. he does program computers -- but not in a legal sense. known as spotted tilmun online, he's usually contacted by people to do a job or two in exchange for money being wired into his account. it's a rather lucrative business since no one knows who he really is -- at least that was what he assumed. lately, however, he's been getting e-mails from a mysterious source that claims to know exactly who he is, and that's making hiro uncomfortable. he has never trained himself to do anything but hack -- if he's forced into early retirement just to avoid jail, he's not sure what he's going to do. so hiro turns it into a game -- he's going to find out who the person is that knows who he is before they reveal his identity to the world, otherwise his career is over for good.
serious, and no-nonsense, katrina has been a good friend and loyal assistant to professor tomoe for over ten years now. it's widely believed that without her, the professor wouldn't be able to function. it might seem a little degrading of her intelligence and her beliefs for all women everywhere, but katrina really is content with taking care of the professor at work, and even at home on occasion. she's been helping him out behind the scenes for so long that even she wonders why the professor hasn't just asked her out yet. she's well aware of his situation with his estranged wife, but hasn't pushed him to divorce her. it's more than just because she doesn't want to seem pushy -- she really wants him to want to ask her out, or to be a permanent part of his life. and it's more than just him that she cares for -- katrina truly does worry about victoria, even when the younger girl doesn't seem to want her to care. it's probably a good thing that katrina isn't the sort of woman to get her feelings hurt so easily, otherwise she might not have stuck around this long, and probably wouldn't be content to stick around much longer.
you wouldn't know it by looking at her, but rachel is dirt poor, and homeless to boot. the only reason she doesn't look the part is because of her "shopping" habit. rachel takes what she wants, and she's pretty damn good at it. her parents are probably to blame. they were constantly screwing up on the job, eventually giving up with work altogether to gamble whatever money they did have. rachel had to learn how to take care of herself pretty early, even dropping out of high school because she didn't have the grades needed to get into the university later. picking pockets, shop lifting, and pretending to bus tables to get a decent meal out of people are just some of the ways she's learned to make ends meet -- and she puts on a facade because of her fear of what people might think if they knew her real situation. it's a matter of pride -- rachel is ashamed of the way she lives her life, and how she has to pretend to fit in with her peers. and getting a job seems out of the question given how careful she has to be to not let on that she's in need of money. what she really needs is a new group of friends, and a little more self confidence.
beryl has always skated by on the tailcoats of other people. chances are, if she was forced to actually do something on her own, she would be a failure. that's probably why she's made sure to hone the art of manipulation. when she was a kid, she always told people she was going to be somebody -- but no one believed her. but now, here she is, with a successful career as the head of amethyst designs, and engaged to the most eligible bachelor in all of tokyo. of course, the story of how she got here is probably worth its weight in gold. she was originally the business partner of selene hoshigawa, but left to start her own business, taking with her some of selene's best interns. the point of that was to eventually fire the interns, but to keep their work as her own, something she's been doing for years, and even rumors circulating in the press and social circles won't shut her down right away. the only reason beryl is so insistent on making things work is because she wants to run selene out of business -- all her life she has been jealous of the other woman, and so she's made it a point to go out of her way to take everything the woman has ever had or ever wanted -- regardless of whether or not beryl really cares about these things herself. for her, it's all about showing selene hoshigawa that she's not just some fan-girl from long ago. she's her own damn woman too.
a champion swimmer, ruth was able to get a swimming scholarship to attend st. teresa's academy. since her arrival, though, she hasn't really felt as though she fits in. she's a down to earth sort of girl, one that likes to get along with people, and could care less about the school's warring hierarchies. swimming is the one thing she's passionate about -- she's been doing it since longer than she can remember. however, her life may take a sudden change when she saves someone from being run over by a bicycle by pushing them out of the way, only to have her own foot run over in the process. it would have been worthwhile had the other person stopped to thank her, or had the bicyclist stopped at all, but neither happened, and ruth would like to just pretend nothing happened. but the longer she ignores her injury, the more likely she may find herself unable to participate in the only good thing she had going at a school she completely hates, and that could make her angry at the person she saved, who also happens to be a student at her school, and even at the guy that ran her over when he starts to come around to "check" on her.
SIXTEEN , CROSSROADS HIGH , AQUATICI , "Q'ORIANKA KILCHER"/"SHAY MITCHELL"
RAFAEL ----- ENDO
raf has made a bit of a name for himself at crossroads high school -- he's known as the school bookie, taking bets and making money off even the most minuscule argument on campus. he's always been street smart and good with numbers; it would make more sense for him to put that knowledge to good use, but raf can't help betting -- he wins every time, so it makes sense to him to make money. after all, it's not like his family has been rolling in the dough. his parents have been working their butts off for longer than raf can remember, and he's made himself a promise that he's not going to end up like them. that doesn't mean he hasn't had his own fair share of trouble. he's been in and out of school for the last two years whenever he gets caught making bets, or taking bets. but he keeps on doing it, unable to help himself -- especially now when the stakes are growing higher. after all, what bookie could really resist making bets on the identities of the sailor senshi? it's probably the greatest opportunity that has ever fallen into his lap, and he'd be stupid to try and capitalize on it.
EIGHTEEN , CROSSROADS HIGH , DEIMOS , "YUU SHIROTA"/"DAITO SHUNSUKE"
ADRIAN ----- ENDO
adrian is well known for being able to talk himself out of almost any situation. he's been gifted with a silver tongue, or so his parents claim. that's how he got by without ending up expelled from school or put in jail the last few years. unfortunately, when he tries conning cherry hill temple into buying "charms" to sell to its patrons, adrian finds himself facing off with old man hino himself, and the result isn't pretty. since one con can't really con another, adrian finds himself being forced to go back to the temple day after day to train as a priest. the only reason he's probably even doing it, and not skipping town, is because of the pretty mikos. adrian can't help himself when girls are involved, although he could do without being hit over the head with a broom by the old man, or even the old man's granddaughter. it's kind of a funny situation that adrian has found himself in. after all, who would have thought that the smooth talking street kid would end up trying to be a little more religious? which turns the question into whether or not adrian is buying into the whole thing, or if he has another ace up his sleeve that the old man doesn't know about.
colin is what many would consider a band geek. he plays the saxophone in the crossroads high school marching band, which has given him some grief with fellow students over the years. but colin has a dream to one day be a professional saxophone player. he likes jazz, and can often be seen attending jazz night at some of the clubs downtown. he knows most people his age aren't into that stuff, so when he does run into someone that finds it interesting... well, it's no surprise that he finds himself crushing on them. what is a surprise is that this person is actually a male -- ted shinko. he's a bit uncomfortable at first, but when he starts to go back and analyze everything, he figures it makes sense; it's not like he's ever been entranced by any of the girls he knows or has hung out with before. but figuring out if ted feels the same, well, that's a whole other dilemma, and not one colin really knows how to solve. this is his first time being in love, if that's what it even is, and he's simply trying to get used to that idea first since it wasn't one he ever saw for himself.
charles doesn't have a lot of ambition going for him. he's content to just work whatever job he can work, pay rent, and feed himself each day. it's probably the result of feeling like he can never compare to his brother archie, a man known for being able to hustle the rich out of their money. he's never tried to one-up his brother, either. his parents had already seemed to have their minds made up about him when he was younger, and charles just stuck with that. for the most part he feels his life isn't half bad. he sees his brother when archie comes by to "check up on him" and he has a job ... or had one. being fired isn't anything new to archie, but in being fired because of a customer, he has somehow ended up with that customer, apolla, insisting she help him find a new job. he could do without her, since all her job ideas require dressing up and actually trying for something higher than busboy. it's unwelcome because charles has never actually wanted to make something of himself, but the more he listens to apolla pep him up, the more he wonders if maybe he can try and succeed, and even come out of the shadow of his brother.
TWENTY-SEVEN , ODD JOBS , CHIRAL , "MATT SMITH"/"BEN FOSTER"
ARCHIBALD ---- MIYAGI
gifted with charm and the ability to talk himself into and out of anything, archie hasn't done that bad for himself. his only problem is the gambling he does -- he makes bets, he plays cards, and he wins. that's probably why he doesn't see it as a disease like others would. archie has yet to actually lose a gamble he makes, which makes him the "go to" guy at the tracks. it has also made him something of a hustler -- when he's owed money, he goes looking for it, making sure to get the point across that he'll get his money when he wants it in any way possible, and that no one can pull a fast one by him. that makes it no surprise that he's more or less fallen into the hands of the local yakuza. it gives him an additional safety net when he's wandering the city. but gambling is his only little addiction. aside form that he's a pretty straight guy. he dates around, he visits his parents every few days, and he checks in on his little brother each week. but as lucky as he's been this long, at some point his luck is going to run out, and when it does, it won't be very pretty.
alicia know she made a mistake when she didn't show up to her own wedding. but, in her defense, she sort of freaked out about getting married at the last minute -- she didn't think she was ready to get married. that doesn't mean she loves her ex any less. if anything, alicia still cares for him a great deal -- she just doesn't want to get married to him. that doesn't seem to go over well with him, and now she's finding herself trying to win him back, only to find that he's not interested. sabotaging his dates is relatively easy, until she finds him talking about this "perfect" woman. alicia hadn't really expected to find someone to consider competition, which puts her jealous streak into overdrive. there's really no reason for alicia to put all her energy into chasing after william. her views on marriage haven't changed -- but the thought of being alone for the rest of her life scares her, as does ending up taking care of her sister for the rest of her life. alicia is the sort of woman that needs to be doted upon twenty-four-seven, and william was always the safe bet to be that doter -- so it doesn't sit well with her that she suddenly needs to fight for him, or start over.
maya was something of a wild child while growing up. she dropped out of high school and as of yet, still has no intentions of ever actually getting a degree. she's content to work at a bar, mixing drinks and playing drinking games with her customers. and she's never really been set on doing anything, or wanting anything before, either. she's annoyed that her sister thinks she's irresponsible, and that her sister is constantly telling her what to do, but with alicia being forced to fight for her ex, maya is back to doing what she wants, more or less, without supervision. the arrival of phoebus at the bar she works at is intriguing, but she's a little bummed to find out that he's more interested in valerie than her; so, naturally, taking a page out of her sister's book, maya tries to win phoebus over, and slowly gets to know valerie as well -- but the more she gets to know her, the more she's starting to think that maybe doing nothing all her life isn't how she wants it to be. it might be time to take her life into her hands, and do something worthwhile... and that's going to mean getting back to basics and figuring out who she is, and what she wants out of her life.
TWENTY-SEVEN , BARTENDER , MANA , "EMILY BLUNT"/"MEGHAN ORY"
there's a part of helena that resents her older sister for running her life. that's how she sees it, at least. there were a lot of rules while growing up, and the moment she turned eighteen she made sure to move out and be independent. it wasn't easy, of course. she realized only after moving out just how much she relied on her sister, and ended up struggling for the first year before moving back in with her sister and reverting back to doing as she was told to do. she has followed in the footsteps of her sister by going into the fashion design, but most of the time people can't really distinguish them from selene's drawings because helean isn't as passionate about fashion as her sister is. she's merely doing it because she knows when she gets the company she'll be rich, and that's all she cares about. but when she finds out that her sister had a child and gave it up for adoption, helena begins to worry that if selene finds the child, she'll give the company to the kid, and not helena -- which is precisely why she agrees to help find the child so she if she does find the kid, she can keep selene from finding it.
bridget is kind of like a great ball of energy, constantly smiling and laughing, and known for being a sweetheart. she's also known for being a bit immature, even resorting to baby talk and referring to herself in third person, and has cosplay been mentioned? bridget is an avid fan of cosplay, and attends every comic function she can dressed as her favorite characters. so naturally she has a wide group of friends, all of which are considered the strange, and less popular kids at their own schools. her sisters constantly look down on this aspect of bridget's life, but she's never really cared what others think of her. her bubbly energy can make her a little obnoxious, and so at school she finds that people are less likely to want to partner with her on projects because she talks too much. she's often intrigued by the strangest things, so naturally she finds herself trying to make friends with asa ittou despite what everyone says about him. in her eyes, he's just like her -- unique. and that's something of a unique find since she hasn't come across a lot of other people with similar interests, or similarly thought to be different than others their own age.
SIXTEEN , ST. TERESA'S HIGH , BERTHIER , "HAYDEN PANETTIERE"/"LEVEN RAMBIN"
KRYSTAL ----- KUROZUKI
krystal, like her sisters, is quite vocal about the thing she is most passionate over -- saving animals. she has always been the sort of girl to rescue a lost cat or dog and bring it home, often throwing a fit when her father decided to send that animal to a shelter. even now she still brings animals home, and can often be seen chasing after cats and dogs with tidbits to try and get them to follow her home. she means well, especially when she feels animals are being mistreated and she goes out of her way to make people treat their animals well... even occasionally going to extreme measures to get her point across. because she too is a bit loud and bossy, she can be hard to manage, and seems to drive people away from her because of her insistence that animals come before all else. of course, no one has been able to curb her enthusiasm for saving animals -- most people tend to try and avoid her, knowing just how long her speeches can get about saving animals, not wearing fur, or not eating meat. she is even rumored to have been the person that set a field on fire at brennan's academy when they tried to get a school mascot, but there's no real proof it was her.
EIGHTEEN , ST. TERESA'S HIGH , KOAN , "JESSICA STROUP"/"LYNDSY FONSECA"
PENELOPE ----- KUROZUKI
for the last three years penny has been dating darien chiba, and she's pretty sure he's going to pop the question -- if only because she's been hinting that it's the most logical step to take next. penny has had a plan for her life since she was fifteen. she would graduate from high school, go to college, get a degree in business, marry young, and live a comfortable life. she's never once considered getting a job and earning her own money. penny simply likes the idea of being a well educated woman that chose family over work. this could be because penny isn't very good at working. she gives up too easily and has done a good job at perfecting her image more so than her people skills or work ethic. getting a hook on darien was pretty easy as well, and she's held onto because of how reliable a person he is. she's never once really considered love in her relationship -- for her comfort comes before love, and she'll do whatever it takes to earn that level of comfort. after all, if she loses darien, she'll lose the well crafted plan she had for her life. and without that plan, she'd have to start over, which scares her more than anything.

andrea is head of the cheer squad at her school, cheering for athletes at brennan's academy. she's considered a pushy girl, always demanding others be the best, and constantly training. she uses her power as head of the cheer squad to bully others, trying her best to wrench the school free from rebecca, or even rei. she's always wanted to be the most popular girl in school, but her attitude tends to push people away more than it brings them closer to her. she lives for the power she does have over certain people, even going as far as to boss harold around because he's infatuated with her and willing to do whatever she asks him to do. for her it's almost second nature to have him following her around like a puppy, until the day he doesn't show up to watch her cheer -- it actually affects her more than she thought it would, and andrea actually finds herself going out of her way to find harold and see what's wrong with him. knowing that the way she acts around people, and why she's been using him has made him so lethargic about life actually makes her rethink the person she has become, and it could even lead to a change.
SEVENTEEN , ST. TERESA'S HIGH , CALAVERAS , "ASHLEY BENSON"/"IMOGEN POOTS"
april is one of those actresses that really throws herself into the role, often preparing months ahead of time so she's "perfect". she can appear like the "little sister" many people associate her as being for japan, but deep down she's pretty ruthless, and more of a diva to those on set. considering she's a rival to her "frenemy" natalie, it's no wonder that for her upcoming project that april has begun taking pottery classes. she's really hoping for japan's version of an oscar, which would put her light years ahead of natalie. and, in an effort to top natalie's own personal life gossip, april decides to parade kengo around, oftentimes against his will, just to make people take notice of her. for april, everything revolves around her being a big star, and she'll go to any lengths to make that happen. yet change could be in order if she allows herself to actually drop her guard, let people in, and appreciate what she already has. after all, having grown up in the spotlight, it's easy for april to forget that she's just as human as everyone else -- and that there could be more to life than just striving to be number one.
seth is famous for being the twin brother of natalie, and a rising star in his own right. he likes attention just as much as his sister does, and is pretty well known throughout the tabloids for dating around. but distinguishing himself from his sister hasn't always been easy. after all, people still remember his older shows, and how good he is playing the supportive best friend, or the romantic lead -- they don't know that deep down he's a bit of a jerk, having let the spotlight go to his head. he knows that as long as his sister is famous, he will be too, and while part of him hates being dependent upon her success, it's enough to make him keep her in the spotlight, even helping spread gossip so people will read about her, and then wonder about him as well. but with time, seth is going to want people to be asking about him, and not just his sister, which means proving he's worth risking for the leading role in a new film set in tokyo. he's going to have to pull out all the stops to prove he's got the talent, and maybe along the way he'll be able to break out of his sister's shadow, and stop being the playboy he's coming to be known for.

natalie has been in the spotlight since a young age when she and her brother were given roles on a drama series. since then natalie has been in a variety of dramas, making a name for herself as one of tokyo's most promising young actresses. but being in the spotlight all the time hasn't made it easy for natalie to blend in and make friends with "regular people" as she calls them. in fact, she's likely to be considered a little self centered, and more than a little spoiled. she's used to getting her way, and tends to pull out all the stops to get something she wants, which hasn't made her very well liked by her peers, and those that feel she's taking something from them. she has her good moments -- like her passion for the environment which she takes to heart, and she's really not a bad actress. but so many years spent in the public has made it hard for her to be herself, mostly because she doesn't know who she is anymore inside, only what people want her to be... and it's so easy to be what people want her to be, especially when she's out promoting her new show with co-star felix, whom she wouldn't mind actually dating like all the tabloids claim she is.

felix never really wanted to be an actor, but when his sister began acting, so did he. he grew to love his career, although there are times when he wishes he could be normal and take time off from acting to get a degree, and pursue other things. that's why he has become pickier with the projects he chooses, and why he's taking more time off in between shows. he's almost ready to call a long hiatus when he begins promoting his new show, going along with his agent's idea of acting like a couple with natalie to get good ratings when it premieres... but all that does is make the show an instant success with calls for a sequel series, or even a film. he's torn between what he would like to do, because while he does like acting and he does like the money that comes in, he's not sure he can really do justice to a sequel; but he's also the sort of person that can't let another down, and felix feels he would be letting natalie down if he didn't agree to a sequel or something, which goes along with his belief that she doesn't realize just how over-exposed she is by her agent, and the feeling that she too might need a break, if he can only convince her to take one -- for her own good, he claims.
