<div style="width: 375px; text-align: justify;">I would prefer that the application be in third person. Most people have a hard time being unbiased about a character when it's in first person, so unless you feel you really can write an unbiased application in first person, I would stick with third. I will more than likely review first person applications with a little more criticism than a third person application.

Don't address the audience in the application, as that will be breaking the fourth wall. Any time you start using the word "you" in the application, it tends to break the flow.

The following post gives a little more details as to what I'm looking for in each section. There are a few helpful links as well, just in case you're like me, and have need for some clarification as to what is best for the character -- this is just in terms of the birth sign (honestly, who really knows which signs are for what months outside their own?), blood type, and height/weight.

When you post your application, be sure to post it in the correct category. The topic title should be LAST NAME, FIRST NAME MIDDLE NAME. Leave the topic description blank.

Never be discouraged when I give a review. It's rare for someone to be accepted in the first try. Usually I find one or two things. If it looks like a long one, it's probably because I'm giving you ideas to help add to the overall quality of the application. There's really nothing to be afraid of. I don't reject people on sight. Everyone is allowed three chances, and if you can make it through to the third round of edits, or even just the second, you're probably going to be just fine. I'm not looking to send people packing, I just want you to dig in a little deeper with your characters, especially as our site plot asks for a little more character drive than other sites tend to do. And, if you ever need help with your application with suggestions, or the like, feel free to pop me a PM, or see if I'm lurking on a messenger somewhere.

BIRTH NAME:

the character's first, middle, and last name.

NICKNAMES:

usually these are names that the character answers to, or names people have given them -- not all nicknames are terms of endearment. sometimes bullies give people names to taunt people.

AGE:

the character's current age.

DATE OF BIRTH:

month, day, year.

BIRTH SIGN:

the character's astrological sign as listed here.

BLOOD TYPE:

based on the japanese theory of blood types here.

SEXUALITY:

the character's sexual orientation.

CANON/ORIGINAL:

list whether the character is a canon, or an original.

LIKES:

list at least ten things your character likes -- food, music, pastimes, etc. try and make it specific to your character, and not overly general. these things should almost go along with how your character is described in the personality, so use common sense.

DISLIKES:

list at least ten things your character dislikes -- allergies, pet peeves, foods, etc. try and make it specific to your character, and not overly general. again, these things should almost go along with how your character is described in the personality, so please use common sense.

POSITIVE TRAITS:

list at least six traits about your character that can be seen as strengths -- these do not include people, places, or things. examples can be found here

NEGATIVE TRAITS:

list at least six traits about your character that can be seen as weaknesses -- these do not include people, places, or things. examples can be found here

HOBBIES:

list at least two things that the character likes to do, collects, takes part in, etc.

HABITS/QUIRKS:

list at least three things the character does, or is known for doing.

SKILLS:

list at least two things that the character excels at, or can do. these can include speaking another language we are no longer accepting multilingualism at this time, completing some kind of feat, and so on.

GOALS/AMBITIONS:

list at least two goals that your character is aiming for. they can be either short term or long term.

FEARS:

list at least two things your character is afraid of. stay away from the generic fears of death or losing a loved one. fears can be fairly basic, or complex depending on how you want to portray the character.

SECRETS:

list at least two secrets about your character. secrets are things no one knows about the character. they are not facts. these can be things that they feel guilty over, things they're afraid to tell someone about, etc.

PERSONALITY:

give at least six hundred words. this usually comes out between three or four paragraphs. here you will get inside the character's head, and explain what kind of person they are. be well rounded -- they aren't perfect, nor can they be everything under the sun. break it down it down by some of the more dominant traits that most people see, then ease into parts of the character that isn't always visible, and close it up with whatever else hasn't been touched upon that you think we should know about this character.

HEIGHT:

this will help show if your character is the correct height for weight.

WEIGHT:

this will help show if your character is the correct weight for height.

HAIR:

hair color, texture, length -- don't be too extreme here. simple is perfectly fine.

EYES:

generally color works, though if you want, you can probably add the shape, and even if they wear glasses or not.

BODY TYPE:

the character's body type, usually summed up in a few words or less.

CLOTHING STYLE:

the style of clothing the character wears.

MARKINGS:

scars, tattoos, birthmarks, freckles, etc.

PLAY-BY:

face you would like to use to play your character.

OCCUPATION:

answer goes here, if a student give grade, school, and if applicable, major.

FINANCIAL STATUS:

working, lower, lower middle, upper middle, upper class.

PLACE OF BIRTH:

where the character was born.

PARENTS:

names, ages, occupations, alive/dead/etc. -- in the case of canons, please double check the other lists as other family members are listed.

SIBLINGS:

names, ages, occupations, alive/dead/etc. -- in the case of canons, please double check the other lists as other family members are listed.

OTHERS:

names, ages, occupations, alive/dead/etc. -- in the case of canons, please double check the other lists as other family members are listed.

PETS:

if applicable. keep in mind that not everyone has or needs a pet, and not all pets will be cats -- those tend to be popular on sailor moon sites.

HISTORY:

either give ten detailed bullets, or eight hundred words in paragraph format. when i say bullets, i mean i'd like you to give ten detailed events that have happened in your character's life -- and by detailed, i mean more than a single sentence. think of them as memories of your character. what happened at a certain age, or day in their life that has impacted their lives, or means something significant? otherwise, the basic standard is eight hundred words of a character's background -- this comes to about four paragraphs, and should go from birth to present day. don't jump around -- go in chronological order, and try to be even with different parts of the history. don't just skip forward to the present and complete miss the childhood or something.
