THE RULES

COMMON COURTESY

As with anywhere, you need to be polite, respectful and courteous towards other. Roleplaying is about fun, so let's keep it that way. Disputes should be handled privately, over private messaging, emailing, etc. Do not hassle, tease, or mistreat any of your fellow members, guests or the staff. If you are caught being hateful, you will be banned from the site immediately. There is a zero tolerance policy on disruptive and rude behavior.

REGISTRATION

Before you even register on the site, please read all the required information which includes: the rules, the plot, and the groups threads. It makes it much easier for everyone. When you do register, please register as your character's name in all lowercase letters. It looks better on the site if we are all uniform that way. If you make a mistake with registering, just let the Administrator know and it will be fixed.

APPLICATIONS

You are required to use the code provided to create an application for every character you make. We use a freeform application, which means you can write whatever and as much as you want. There is a small section where you fill out specific character information at the top, but that is more for the ease of roleplaying and referencing than anything. There is more information about that in the Application Code thread. When you post your character's application, do so in the PENDING or COMPLETED board. If your application is not finished, post it in the PENDING board, if it is finished, then it goes in the COMPLETED board. Please use this form in your application's topic description to make it easier for the staff: WORK-IN-PROGRESS or FINISHED. Simple enough, right? When you complete your application, send a private message to this account or one of the other staff members so your application will be looked over as soon as possible. Please allow for two or three days for us to look at your application, but it should be looked over before that.

After your application is accepted, you may begin posting. However, first you must post in the Claims thread with your character's played by information. If you do not do this, your face claim is up for grabs.

CLAIMS AND RESERVES

Face claims are required on Do No Wrong. Actors, models, musicians, and other celebrities are acceptable. Internet celebrities, people under the age of thirteen, drawings/cartoons/etc., and so forth are not accepted under any circumstances. Using pictures of people who aren't famous or people who are under the age of thirteen is a legal issue. There are hundreds and hundreds of people you can use. If you are having trouble picking one, ask one of the staff members or any of your fellow members for help.

You can reserve face claims, character names and canon characters for up to two weeks. You are not allowed to reserve more than one item at a time. You can't reserve a face and a character name, for example. Contact the staff for more information about that. The face claims shown on the canon list are not specific to those canons. What that means is that you may use the played bys of those canons for your own character if you wish. The played by of the canon will just be changed. However, Please try and not make this a habit. It makes it more difficult for the staff. The same rule goes for character requests. Unless you reserve that played by, the played by you suggested in said character request is not saved just for you.

Another note about face claims: most characters that are hunters will look like they can kick some monster booty. What this means is that if your character does not look like the type that can throw punches (and take punches) or shoot a charging werewolf, you have to explain why and it would be a very rare occurrence. This becomes a difficulty when it comes to female characters, since most celebrity women are not exactly muscular and tough looking. We are more lenient about this rule with female characters for this reason. However, your character doesn't necessarily have to be super buff and huge to be a hunter. Research any actual fighter/athlete and you'll see examples of that. Just try and keep things realistic as possible.

Most great hunters are also older. Ability comes with experience. However, this doesn't mean your character has to be middle aged. It is all about the years of training and experience put in. For example, if your character started learning to hunt at the age of five, they would probably be a master by their twenties. It has less to do with age and more to do with time, but not all hunters are going to have learned this from childhood. Keep this in mind when creating a hunter.

ACTIVITY AND POSTING

There is a requirement for how often you have to post on Do No Wrong. You must post in-character (not in the IC contact or plotting threads, the threads) at least once every two weeks. If you have more than four characters, it doubles; you have to post twice every two weeks. This pattern continues the more characters you have. If for some reason you cannot manage this, post a thread in the Absence board to let us know. Activity Checks are held once a month, so be sure to post in those to make sure we don't have a bunch of empty, unused accounts clogging up the site.

Speaking again about the number of characters, we have no limit but there are rules. After every character you make, you must make an in-character post in a thread at least once before you can make another character. Plot pages, character requests, IC-contact threads and so forth do not count.

The entire site is doHTML enabled. All our site codes use it (such as this one), but you are not required to use doHTML when posting a thread, plot page, etc. However, we also have pre-made posting templates for you to use in the Inquires section if you wish.

We do not have a word count here on Do No Wrong. Instead the policy is that you should try and post around the same amount as the person you are threading with. However, no one liners or single paragraph posts will be accepted.

GRAPHICS

Character graphics are not a requirement, but if you do have them, there are rules. First of all, your icon must be exactly 200 pixels wide and 250 pixels high. Your signature can be no more than 500 pixels wide and 400 pixels high, but smaller is okay. Html is enabled in the signatures if you wish to use it. If you are unable to make your own graphics or just don't want to, you can try asking one of the other members, or going to a resource site like CAUTION 2.0, A THOUSAND FIREFLIES? or RED CARPET & REBELLION. You can also look on the Staff Information thread to see which of the staff make graphics.

The only graphics that are required of you is the picture on your character's application. If for some reason you cannot procure one, leave it blank and contact the Administrator or one of the other staff members and they will make one for you.

RATING AND MATURE CONTENT

Most of the content here will be around a PG-13 level, but if it exceeds that, there will be this trigger warning above the post containing such content. Look at movies with a similar rating to get an idea of what kind of content is allowed. All posts with any content more than a PG-13 rating must use this form above every post [separate from any doHTML or other coding]:
