From a human point of view, the death of Heaven and Hell was quiet. Mortals did not notice any changes, but that doesn’t mean that there were none. Hell has risen, slipping up through the cracks, and Heaven has fallen, burning through our skies and landing them both on our humble Earth. Demons and Angels have taken human vessels and walk among the mortal humans, forced out of their homes for an unknown reason. The Apocalypse? They don't know if this is it. Neither can get in touch with their leaders, the Devil or God, so they are left to wander the Earth helplessly, but not alone. The Undead, Were-animals and Skinwalkers, beings of Hell, are also there, though having been on Earth for quite a while with Hunters on their trail. Mediums can sense these presences; more and more are realizing their power since the residents of Heaven and Hell arrived. Hundreds of other kinds of supernatural creatures roam the Earth. After all beings who couldn't take a mortal vessel have perished, leaving the rest to be imprisoned in the earthly world. Even in small town Texas, where our story takes place, mortals can not escape this otherworldly drama.

In the last announcement I posted, I asked everyone for their opinions on several different topics. I've gotten responses from some people, and here's what is going to happen. Everyone that sent me a message said that it would be a good idea to have a Thread List on the site (a thread that listed all the threads on the site; open, finished, tagged, etc). However, Ilse brought up a good point: we need someone to run this Thread List. I don't think I'd be a good candidate, since I go through periods of inactivity around here, so I'm asking you guys instead. If any of you want to do this, please send a private message to this account. You have to be someone that is online frequently, and has the time to update this list. You don't have to read all the threads, though. My idea is that the Thread List would work like this: - After anyone starts a thread, they will post in the thread list with information about the new thread, like we do with the Face Claims and Member List when your character is accepted. They would fill out a short form saying a.) whether it is an open thread (anyone can join), tagged thread (meant for specific characters only), or a closed thread (no one can join in, it's just for that one character); b.) which character(s) are involved in the thread; c.) and a link to the thread location.
- Once the thread is finished, whoever was involved in the thread will post back on the Thread List, letting people know that the thread is finished.
- The person running the Thread List will be in charge up updating the list and moving finished threads into the Storage board.
If people post when their threads are started/finished, then updating the Thread List won't be so much of a chore, just a matter of editing the post with all the listed threads.
Secondly, I asked everyone if we should include the cities surrounding Redgrove into the roleplay. The site has kind of outgrown the small town of Redgrove, and you all seem to agree, according to the PM's. The plan is to introduce the surrounding cities one at a time, as we get more characters. There are four cities around Redgrove: Bunker, Elvern, La Trampa del Diablo and Pickford. I'm going to let you all vote on which city you want to see first. Here is what I imagine those cities are like. We can add bits and pieces to it as we go along. BUNKER, TEXAS: Bunker is the farthest city from Redgrove, about an hour and a half away, west from Redgrove. Like Elvern, Bunker experienced a business boom, but in steel not oil. However, instead of a wealthy town, Bunker became very poor. When the steel company went under, most of the people in the city lost their jobs at the company. The city is just now rebuilding its economy, but it isn't going well. Most people have left Bunker to find work elsewhere, sometimes moving to Elvern or La Trampa Del Diablo. Most people here are very poor. However, some businesses are booming... mostly underground criminal ones. The most infamous is a popular brothel. The authorities can't prove that it's a brothel and more than just a strip club, but everyone knows. Crime is also high here. Bunker is mostly progressive and liberal, unlike most of the conservative neighbors. Vampires seem to be drawn to this area. There are several small covens that have made their homes here, some new and some having been there for years. They fight with each other for hunting territory like supernatural gangs. (real-life city reference: Brownsville, Texas, real-life city landscape reference: 1900s "Storyville" New Orleans, Louisiana)
ELVERN, TEXAS: This city is much richer than Redgrove, more suburb and urban city than small ranch town; even though it is about the same size. This town is next to La Trampa Del Diablo, about a ten minute drive north from La Trampa. It is about an hour drive east from Redgrove. Ever since oil was discovered in Elvern, it transformed the small town from a rancher area to a wealthy oil town. Almost everyone here still works for the oil company. It has made Elvern into one of the richest towns in the area. This is a widely conservative area. Known as a great place to raise a family. You wouldn't know from the idyllic appearance of Elvern, but the city is being plagued by the undead. Someone or something is raising many, many people from their graves. (real-life city reference: Beaumont, Texas; real-life landscape reference: Southlake, Texas)
LA TRAMPA DEL DIABLO, TEXAS: To get to this town, drive down the Main Road (highway in Redgrove that runs straight through the city) for many miles until you reach La Trampa DeL Diablo. It's about a forty-five minute drive east from Redgrove to La Trampa Del Diablo. The city's name is often just shortened to 'La Trampa'. This city is right next to the border and, like Redgrove, is still a ranching town. Most of the residents here are both Spanish and English speaking, since the population of Mexican-Americans is very high. Most of the families have lived there for generations. Their high school, Vicente Guerrero High School, is sports rivals with Redgrove High School. La Trampa is more of an urban city than Redgrove, less residential. The ranching areas are on the outskirts of La Trampa, while their inner city is at the center. Though it is around the same size as Redgrove, they have a much larger nightlife and more traditional "city" feel. The area is widely conservative. La Trampa, though most people don't know it, has many were-communities and families. (real-life landscape reference: El Paso, Texas, real-life city reference: Reno, Nevada)
PICKFORD, TEXAS: Pickford makes itself famous mostly for its college: Texas State University, Pickford. The college has brought many small businesses here, lots of cheap housing and apartments for students. It is a progressive, liberal city with a small town feel. Most people from Elvern, Bunker, La Trampa and Redgrove will attend this college. Though it is a small college, it is a popular choice among the locals who wants to live close to home. This city is the closest to Redgrove of the four surrounding towns; only a twenty minute drive West on the Main Road. Though most people don't know it, Pickford has a very large witch population. This town, of the five towns mentioned, is the most diverse when it comes to income level: having lower, middle and upper class people living there. (real-life landscape reference: Las Cruces, New Mexico, real-life college reference: California State University, Fullerton)
I tried to include a certain populace of supernatural creatures in each city, like how Redgrove has tons of skinwalkers. More information can be added to each city, but that is the overall look of them. Please vote for ONE. Just one. Help me out, guys. I know it's hard to choose sometimes but flip a coin or something. HELP A GUY OUT, DUDE.
Next on the agenda, I asked you all if you wanted a "map" of Redgrove. This "map" is really just a thread that will describe the appearance and location of different places in Redgrove, maybe with a simple literal map to go along with it for reference. This should help everyone know where everything is in Redgrove-verse. This will be exceptionally helpful for when we build up the other towns, which will also have their own maps. I will probably end up doing most of this, but feel free to add your own ideas and such to places. Send me a private message about this if you want. Y'all know I love your ideas. Plus, if your character has a home or a shop or something, you can send me a little description about it so it can be included on the "Map". If not, I'll just reference what the shop is and who runs it. You guys seemed to like this idea, so I'll get that made.
The next questions were about things we already have on the site: the canons and the site skin. I asked if you all think we have too many canons. People said no, but I still feel like I need to update it and remove some of the unfinished canons. I didn't really get too many opinions on the skins, except that people like the quick log-in, so I'll assume there isn't anything bothering people too much. If you want to let me know anonymously any issues you have with the skins, or something you want to see/don't want to see, send me an anonymous message on my Tumblr account here. Make sure to click 'Ask anonymously'. If you want to let me known something and don't care if you are anonymous or not, send me a private message to this account. All opinions matter. This isn't just my site, you guys. I love to hear your input and it isn't rude at all.
Speaking of the site skins, as you may have noticed, I updated the site with our newest one called Poltergeist. In order to make the loading time of the pages shorter, I made the sidebar smaller. I added a new thing called the News Box. It only shows up on the main page. If you click on the bar, it will show a header bar with news about the site; character requests, character awards, upcoming events/subplots, updates... If you click it again, it will hide the News Box. Also, on the sidebar, there is a button that you can click that will link you to the Administrator account so you can send me a private message if you have a question. The site links have been moved to the header image to save space. If you have any problems or comments about the skin, please let me know.
In conclusion, please tell me in a private message to this account a.) if you want to be in charge of the Thread List b.) which one city you want to see next and c.) if your character has a shop or house, describe the location if you want it one the Map.
