Saint was having none of that. "Arizona probably doesn't have many vampires..." He mumbled, taking a glass of juice and taking a long swig. Jase had been doing so well with keeping smart ass remarks to himself the past few hours. Ah, if only he could stay like for the rest of eternity. Or, at least, Saint's chunk of it. Picking up a fork, he dug into his omelet, and went about explaining a few things.

"Alright, well, among us, Will is the strongest. He's also the biggest. Will's the alpha, you'll get to know him later. Lucian, his younger brother, is almost as strong as he is, and- when in some sort of jeopardy- a lot stronger. His strength seems to be tied to adrenalin or something of the sort. I'm the fastest, and the most agile, but Izza here has been known to beat me on occasion. I'm guessing that you'll probably lean more towards agility and speed, calculating both from what I saw last night, and the fact that you're smaller than the brothers. Around my size."

Finished with his little explanation, he took another swig of orange juice. "Any questions?"

Jase looked up at Saint as the other male spoke, electric blue eyes alight with curiosity despite the fact that he seemed to be keeping to the indifferent attitude. "No questions," He responded before taking a drink of his own juice and going back to his food.

Izza listened with a detached interest, naturally already knowing the facts. Her interest was more in her cousin's reactions as she observed them both, gaging to herself just how he was going to treat the situation. The girl couldn't really tell, but she had a feeling he might not be quite as agreeable as they might have liked. Or maybe too indifferent and uncaring.

With a sigh, she went back to her food without comment, still silently observing. The blond looked to the window for a long minute, her brow furrowing as her body reacted in the same way it had the day before -- the hair on the back of her neck raising. "Do the mountains creep anyone else out, or am I even weirder than I already suspected?"

"Both, I'm assuming." Saint chewed on his eggs and finally swallowed, staring off at the mountains that made his skin crawl. Making a snap decision, he nodded. "We're going there. Today. Well, I am at least. You two can feel free to stay here. I just need to see what it is that's lurking about out there. If anything." Shooting Izza a look, he offered a small smile.

"And don't fret, mum. I won't get into any fights with wild grizzlies or anything." The last time Saint had gone off by himself, he'd ended up attacked by a grizzlie, and they'd had it out in the middle of the freaking forest. Actually, he'd done that so far with a bear, a wolf, and a moose.

Izza rolled her eyes, taking another bite of her omelet. "I'm going, too, whether he is or not." She nodded toward Jase. "My curiosity's piqued." She grinned widely at his mention of grizzlies, remembering one of the three incidents all too well in which he'd fought a wild animal. "Don't worry, I'll be there to protect you should one decide to sneak up on you." The blond grinned teasingly before looking at her cousin once again. "You gonna check it out with us?"

Jase shrugged, eying her for a second from the corner of his eye. "Sure, why not. Might as well," He responded after seeming to consider the options. He didn't really want to be left to hang around here and entertain himself for who knew how long. Though it would give him an opportunity to go back to sleep, if only for a little bit.

Saint nodded happily, glad- though he'd never admit it out loud- that he wouldn't be making the trip to the mountains alone. Shoving himself back from the table, he grabbed his now empty plate and cup and walked over to drop them in the sink. At that moment, Tay bounded into the kitchen, walking over to sniff and lick Izza's arm before moving on to give Jase the same treatment.

For a moment, Saint watched the malamute. On some bizarre plane, he envied her. She was so... simple. Living a life that was controlled by simply when she had to go to the bathroom, and when she wanted to eat. He sighed, tossing those thoughts away.

"So, which first? Mountains or testing?"

Izza looked down upon feeling a tongue against her arm where her sleeve had been rolled up, smiling at Tay and watching her greet Jase in the same way before turning to finish off her omelet. "Well, mornin', Tay. And that, would be up to you, Jase," The blond commented, grabbing her cup of barely-touched juice and taking a long drink.

Jase glaced to Tay with a small smile before looking back to his cousin and Saint. "I'll be honest and say I'd rather avoid the testing as long as possible. I say mountains first," He answered as he stood and sat his dishes in the sink.

"It will happen eventually, you know. Whether we're the ones who test you or not," Izza responded, givng him a dark grin before venturing to the sink to sit her dishes in it as well. The girl looked at the sink dejectedly for a second, knowing she'd probably be the one to take the initiative to do dishes again. "But I'm fine with heading to the mountains first, personally."

Saint nodded, running a hand through his tousled black locks. "Well, mountains first it is. Guess there's no use in getting dressed..." He thought about it, tapping his fingers on the counter. Finally, he sighed, and walked over to Tay, rubbing her back. "Well, we're going out now, okay Tay? And we're going to be gone for a few hours. Aaaand, to tell you the truth, I'm kind of worried. Don't let anyone eat you." Nodding, he sauntered into the yard.

Hazel eyes roamed the expanse of the mountains, Saint breathing slow and even. Something was out there, watching him, and waiting. He knew, in the deepest pits of his self, that if they journeyed into the mountains today, that they were going to find something. Maybe they wouldn't be attacked. In fact, he was almost sure it wouldn't be anything physical, otherwise he never would have asked the others is they wanted to come. He just knew that something was going down today.

Removing his shirt and then his pants, he looked back into the house. "Come on you guys! It's show time!"

Deep within that mountain range, a monster waited hungrily beside her mate.

Izza stared out the window at the mountains for a long moment as Saint went to the malamute. She could sense that something wasn't right, and it made the weird feeling that settled in the pit of her stomach every time she just looked in the mountain's direction worse when she thought on it. The blond couldn't quite decipher what it was she was feeling. A sense of foreboding. And there was a bit of fear mixed in there that she refused to acknowledge, let alone let the others know of it.

Snapping out of her thoughts upon hearing the eldest male's shout, the girl started outside, Jase already ahead of her. She pulled her hoodie over her head before shedding of her pajamas, grinning madly at the other two before taking off in a run. She leaped into the air, looking as if to do a dive straight into the ground, and changed into her wolf form before her paws hit the snow.

Jase shed of his own clothing with wary trust, watching as Izza changed before doing so himself and taking off after her. I have a really bad feeling about this.

The black wolf came up beside the other two, wary and alert. I as well. So, here's the deal. I'll go in front, Jase you keep middle left, and Izza you stay on back right." It was the defense formation Will had taught them back when it was just the Hite brothers and himself. The order in which you stood was according to when you turned, the oldest in front, middle in the back, and the last between them.

Without waiting for an acceptance of his plan, Saint took off at a run that the other two could easily keep up with. But still, he'd reached the outskirts of the mountains in very little time, and stopped, all hairs on his body standing on end. [i]Do you guys... hear that?

It was an odd sound really. A twirring in the air. Like maybe... a fan had been turned on.

Izza nodded, falling to the back as the other two took off in front of her. Her hackles were raised as her dark eyes scanned the area around her, ever wary of her surroundings. The sense of foreboding grew stronger the closer to the mountains they got, and she shook herself as she ran, trying to rid of the feeling.

Both of the younger wolves came to a halt behind the eldest, staring up into the mountains. Jase crouched, more out of instinct than anything, and tensed as if ready to spring. I do. He had a feeling that they might be getting themselves into more trouble than could be handled, but he didn't voice the thoughts. He didn't know the extent of his own ability, let alone that of his two comrades.

Izza looked as if she was fighting the natural urge to take up the same position as her cousin. Same here. Shall we... check it out? Even to herself, the tone of thought she sent to them was slightly unsettled. Her dark eyes trained on the shadows of the mountains, trying to pick out a general area the noise seemed to be coming from.

[OOC;; Eep. I'm on while my friend's sleeping. She's got crappy Internet Explorer, so I'm sorry if my spelling is weird. I'm used to the check on Mozilla.]

Saint paced back and forth, hairs rising and falling with every ragged breath he drew in through the wolf-mutated lungs. Those black eyes pierced on the even blacker night, and a flash of something was seen that moment. Something... beautiful. As he stood between his friends and almost certain terror, a glint beamed in him, something he'd forgotten was there. He realized he felt... needed. And for one strange moment, he envied Will the alpha possition for the first time.

Stretching, he turned his head to look first at Jase and then at Izza. The white female got the longer lasting look, and he licked his lips, a small smile appearing when he looked back into the woods. The twirring now, he suddenly realized, was laughter. Demented, but laughter nonetheless. Saint sent that thought to the others, taking a step that sent him so close his nose was litterally brushing the base of the rocky creation, covered in glistening snow.

I say we check it out. Have some news to bring back to Will to make up for not telling him about Jase earlier. But don't come if you don't want to. I can only say, Izza, that you'll be the safest. White coat and all. Blends in day time. He didn't voice the other reason she was safest, though it was there and available. Both males would rather die that see her get hurt. Caveman-ish, in a way, but it was the truth.

[ooc; Ohhh, I hate IE. It needs spell check.]

Izza stared up at the mountains for a long moment before looking back to Saint when he turned his head to her. She met his eyes, then glanced once more to the structures before them as he realized what the twirring noise was. Then it's definitely someone up there. If not more than one someones, The female deduced, as much to herself as the two males. She studied the peaks for another moment, nodding. I can hold my own, you know, She offered, tone soft, easily reading into the second reason that she would be safest should she go. Which she intended to.

Jase looked to Saint before looking to his cousin. Well, let's go then, He commented, nodding in the direction of the peaks. He wasn't near as sure of it as he tried to sound, but he didn't acknowledge the fact. Rising from the crouch he was in, the male tried to force himself to relax slightly. A deeper form of the demented laughter joined the first, however, sending a chill down his spine and making it near impossible not to be alarmed.
