A lone figure walked through the streets of Malumne as the sun began to set over the village. The boy knew he would need lodging for the night, but if worse came to worse he would simply camp out in the woods near by. He knew them well enough to feel comfortable sleeping there. That itself could seem odd as the lad did not have a pair of wings sprouting from his back like the locals. No he wasn't a fairy, he was a dragon. One that was very far from home, or what would normally be considered his home. He had no house to call home, and that was the way he liked it. Always moving, always restless.
Coming upon an Inn and Tavern he handed his horse to the stable hand and went inside. It was a typical weekend night, a mixed company of patrons littered the large, loud room. Ryuu took a seat in his favorite corner, he was a regular and all knew he liked to be left alone. A woman came over and placed a mug on the table in front of him. Slowly his hand wrapped around the handle of the mug while the other placed a few coins on the table in payment. His amber eyes moved across the room, surveying it, taking in the different customers. There was no one of interest there, mainly faeries and an elf or two.
However, a groups of about five dragons walked in. Ryuu looked up, slightly surprised. A group like that could only man trouble. A small smirk formed on the boy's face as he leaned back against the wall, his hat tipped over his eyes. Things could possibly get interesting. The group sat at the table next to his and began talking in hushed tones. Ryuu however could hear every word they said. The smirk on his face quickly turned to a frown. Slavers. His eyes glanced down at the large S burned into his fore arm.
He thought to ignore them, but it seemed they planned to raid the village that very night. Ryuu felt his anger begin to rise. This town was filled with nothing but kind and gentle folk. Despite the fact he looked just like his father who had been known to raid the town often in the past, they did not bother him, and in turn he did not bother them. At that moment he decided he would have to do something, but what he heard next forced him to sit there longer. They were looking for someone in particular. A female fairy with one dragon wing? That sounded like nonsense, maybe it was just them talking in code.

Elizabeth had been having a hard time sleeping since she had met Dylan and his brother. The boy worried her still and she was concerned that he was even still actually alive anymore. Something bad pushed at her bones, her very heart strings that seemed to still quiver under the pressure. Something was going to happen and she just didn't know what. She only hoped she was being her usual paranoid self and that nothing was. But ever since her escape she had been afraid for her family, especially for her dear sister who she cared for more than anything in the world. Except perhaps now this Dylan boy who had just come out of the blue like he had. And what was she to do with him? Perhaps she would see him again some day. She didn't know and she definitely didn't want to start caring too much. Whenever that happened she tended to get into big trouble.
She had been about to doze off when she heard something terrible happen outside. Noises pierced her very aware ears and she jumped at the exploding sounds around her. What was going on out there? She rushed towards the window and gasped. Dragons..everywhere. She knew those figures even in the darkness better than anything. Panic automatically pushed through her and a shiver of fright woke her to the world outside. Screams and fire plagued around her and she knew no one here stood a chance. What could they be after? She didn't even know but she did know that she had to get her family out of there. And if anything else she would at least get her sister to some kind of safety.
She rushed about the safety, yelling to anyone who listened. "The raid..they're here. Everybody please..move..We have to get out of here before they burn the whole village down." She yelled breathlessly, gathering up a few materials as best as she could. Food, water, clothes. She didn't know how long they would be gone but she tossed them all into something of a bag before trying to find her sister, wherever she was. "MARIE! PLEASE! Come on , where are you?!"

Just as he was finishing his mug of ale, and deciding what to do. Ryuu heard a loud noise outside. It was happening. This didn't make sense, it was far to early in the night for a raid. Just then the five dragons sitting next to him jumped up and started attacking the people in the tavern. His eyes opened wide as flames grew in the room. He rose from his seat, everything seemingly moving in slow motion. His first instinct was to approach the dragons, but no. He needed to help get these people to safety. He grabbed as few woman and shoved them through the door.
He turned back to the tavern, the dragons already having captured a large amount of the occupants. Bitting his lip he turned to go, but something made him stop. "Fireball!" He heard the small voice call to him from above. Looking up he saw a young fairy hanging from a light fixture, out of reach of the dragons, but in the way of the growing fire. "Fuck.." He had no choice but to get up there. Climbing onto a table he grabbed on to a ledge and hoisted himself up. The fire was already growing on the ledge but the young dragon ignored it, and called to the child to fly to him.
After retrieving the child he jumped out of the closest window into the chaotic streets. His first thing was to get the kid to safety and anyone else he could possibly help. Whistling he called his horse to him and put the boy in the saddle. Smacking the horse across the rump he ran off to help all he could. He spotted a dragon approaching on a house and tackled him. Wrestling with the larger man he head butted him, knocking him out before dashing into the house. Immediately he spotted a girl hiding under a table and picked her up. Thinking the house was clear he turned to leave, carrying the wriggling girl under his arm.
Again he was stopped from leaving by screaming, this time though it was not for him. Ryuu followed the voice up the steps and found another female, one who was wasting time by putting possessions in a bag. He grabbed her by the hand and began to drag her away. There was no time for this foolishness. It was amazing the house wasn't ablaze yet. He began his decent down the stairs, one fairy under his arm, the other in tow. It was then he realized the fairy he was dragging out wasn't any other fairy, she was a female with one dragon wing. The dragons hadn't been speaking in code. He swore loudly. This would not be easy.

So there was her sister. She had thrown the bag around her shoulders for supplies for the long journey and had been about to find her parents when she saw her sister being held by a terrible looking stranger. SHe stopped cold for a second, fear coursing through her like a gush of cold wind. No! Her sister.....she had just walked past her. Why would she have been hiding under the table? Her sister was braver than that and Lizzie knew it. She would have to yell at her for it later. Before she knew it the strange man grabbed for her as well, pulling her along. No, this wasn't happening again. She had grown stronger since the last time she had been taken and she wasn't going to let it happen again. She shrieked a piercing scream in hopes to startle him and pulled away as best as she could, finding his grasp hard to pull from.
Instead she jumped and spun towards him, kicking him hard in the guts as she tried to wrench free. She was more worried about her poor sister who seemed more afraid than ever. "Marie !Get out of here!" She shouted, hoping she would actually listen to her for once. If anybody didn't deserve the hell Lizzie had been through, it was little Marie. She was too innocent to know the horrors of the dragons just yet and Elizabeth wasn't about to risk her finding out the hard way either. She wanted her sister to keep her wings intact as well as her dignity. She could only hope that he would let go of her before she did something even worse.
The grip was loosening a little but not enough for her. She wasn't about to be dragged anywhere, not of her own accord. She aimed again with the kick ,this time hitting for the groin as hard as she possibly could. That ought to give her time to run and grab for her sister as well. She would only hope that her parents would get out all right on their own because the house was beginning to fall in on them. She had no time to think of the treasures she was losing from the raid. All she cared about now was getting the hell away from there and in one piece.

Ryuu continued to drag the fairy along, trying to get her out of the now burning house. She was putting up some resistance but in the end she would probably just end up wearing herself out more. Great that means I'll probably end up carrying her until I find my horse. His train of thought was interrupted by her shrieking. He was a bounty hunter, women's obnoxious screams no longer startled him. Though he would admit she was on top of his list of obnoxious screamers. His response to the scream was to simply yank her harder. He wasn't going to let her go just because she screamed in his ear.
Then came with the kick to the gut. She had to be one of the ones who thought they could fight. He grumbled and pulled her along by her foot that she kicked with. Getting out of the house was his number one priority right now, and he didn't care how he got them out. The girl under his arm began to squirm more as her sister urged her to get away. He forcefully poked the girl in the side, making her go limp. Ryuu hadn't hurt her, simply used pressure points to make her relax in a way. Tossing the younger one over his shoulder, it freed up both of his hands to deal with the feisty one.
He was just about to grab her with his other hand he felt her foot connect with his groin. He was in pain, but he didn't let himself double over as was his natural instinct. No he simply let out a deep breath and rolled his eyes. The thought of turning her in his self for the reward. But the thought was gone as soon as the pain was. He was trying to do something right, for once. His hand gripped her by the back of her neck and he lifted her from the floor. Beams of wood were beginning to fall down around them. There was no more time to waist.
Finally he carried both girls out of the house and into the street. Quickly looking around he headed to the trees for cover. "Hey that boy has the girl! Get them!" Ryuu swore loudly and put Elizabeth under his arm and ran off at full speed, the other dragons right on his heels. He made a few sharp turns and came out an alley into the woods. He stopped for a moment and pulled up a door from the ground. He placed the younger girl inside the small room and closed the door down again. He shifted Lizzie's weight and started running again, hearing voices grow closer.

Elizabeth had hoped to run when she made the hit connect as best as she could. She was surprised it even connected and that he hadn't fallen on the floor. Curses...why did these things always seem to happen to her? She shouted and knew she couldn't be heard above all the din around the village anyway. The house was coming down in pieces, her body dotted already with the ash from the debris. She was coughing, getting weaker and weaker by the second from the intense smoke surrounding them. Fear only managed to keep her going and the sharp rush of adrenaline that willed her to stay standing.
She felt the stranger grab her by the neck this time, pinching at her nerves in a dangerous fashion. She tried to scream again but the scream only came out in a helpless cough and she hated herself for it too. She hated being weak or being seen as weak. She barely felt able to fight back anymore once he had grabbed her neck and started pulling her towards him. She was rushed out of the house, her arms flailing around as if a wildflower in the wind and she only had concern now for her sister who had kept quiet all this time.
She heard them run towards a room and felt her sister leave her. SHe started pulling away again frantically, screaming hoarsely and pounding against his back in anger and desperation. No! She couldn't just leave her sister behind! She wouldn't know if her sister would be taken captive or not just leaving her there and she couldn't survive on her own. She wasn't strong enough.
"MARIE! NO! YOU BASTARD!" She pounded at his back as hard as she could, kicking and trying to free herself from the speed of the horse. Finally, she plunged towards the ground as the horse kept moving. SHe immediately regretted it once she fell but took off running as soon as she hit the ground again. She wasn't about to leave her sister stranded. Not here.
