This is a play-by-post roleplay based on the BioWare game, Dragon Age, most specifically revolving around the plot of Dragon Age 2. It follows Hawke's adventures through Kirkwall as he rises to champion, taking place right after the Hawkes have reached Kirkwall.Both original and canon characters are accepted. These characters will have their own impact upon the plot and may even change its course. The board and its owners are not affiliated with BioWare or EA Games. Please register under whatever username you would like. The staff will change your username to that of your character once he/she is approved.

This forum-based roleplay allows both original and canon characters, and follows Hawke's adventures through Kirkwall, starting with his meeting with Varric. There is a lot to do in Kirkwall, and plenty of open roleplays. Please register with your intended character name. Hightown
Hightown is where the upper class of Kirkwall dwell. People here feel safe, not because the city's walls are impregnable, but because an invader would need to scale the stairs from Lowtown in order to reach them. The wealthy often forget, however, that those stairs are also their only escape.

Lowtown
Lowtown is a vast maze of shantytowns and labyrinthine corridors, all clustered around the busy man-made harbor. It is literally a pit where the slaves were once quartered, but residents comfort themselves with the thought that as poor off as they are, at least they do not live in Darktown.

Darktown
Darktown is a den of inequity, where only the most pitiable souls dwell. They say it is only a step up from the Elven Alienage, but at least the Alienage isn't polluted with chokedamp that covers the streets in a toxic fog. Many Fereldan refugees have fled into Darktown in desperation, finding the gates of Kirkwall firmly shut.

The Gallows
Statues of tortured slaves fill the Gallows courtyard. These were not monuments to slaves suffering, but meant to break them. Executions took place here daily in this massive prison. Since the crowning of Divine Justinia I, the Gallows have been used as the home of Kirkwall's Circle.

The Free Marches
The Free Marches is a collective name given to a wealthy group of city-states. They are considered the breadbasket of Thedas. On here, this encompasses all cities of the Free Marches, except for Kirkwall.

The Deep Roads
The dwarves once had a great empire beneath the continent, with this massive network of roads passing throughout Thedas. Now, these are filled with darkspawn and corruption, with Orzammar and Kal-Sharok being the only surviving dwarven thaigs.

The Fade
The Fade is a metaphysical realm that is part of Thedas, yet is seperated by the Veil. The spirits change the landscape to emulate what they see in the minds of mortal dreamers. The Black City is omnipresent in the skies of the Fade, seen from a distance no matter where one looks.
