I was thinking we should have a thread where people can introduce themselves and say where they fit into all this stuff. That way people can then get to know who they should talk to from their city etc. So to kick this all off I'll start.

Hi, I'm MissMenolly. Aka Menolly or Karen. I live in Auckland and I'm a big geek for sci-fi and fantasy stuff. I'm a nerdy gamer and into all sorts of weird and wonderful hobbies.

I organised the 2006 and 2007 Serenity screenings in Auckland, NZ. I moderate a yahoogroup for the BrowncoatsNZ and run an events blog.

I'm planning to organise the Auckland 2008 event, but we are seriously looking at an alternative to a screening due to "hidden costs" we have struck at both screenings and a number of comments from fans saying every year is a wee bit too much. We are looking at holding a Shindig, a costumed evening event where we can have an excuse to wear a "posh frock" and mingle and get to know other fans.

So far ideas chucked around include a car costumed treasure hunt around the city ending up at a venue for a party, a games afternoon (pub quiz, board games of a sci-fi/Firefly nature), costume parade, BBQ, screening all the other bits and pieces instead (fan music video clips, bloopers, Done the Impossible, Mosquito etc)

We are working on fundraising atm.

So if you are in New Zealand and in Auckland, hi... and if not, hi anyway :)

From me :ph43r: (just so I can use a Ninja)

Great idea Karen.

I'm Miranda. I found out about CSTS about 2 weeks before the first Adelaide event in 2006. i managed to offer my help to make some tshirts, and on the night. I offered my help again in 2007, to find that our brave 2006 organiser was headed overseas, and was offered the mantle, which i have proudly worn for 2007, trebling our donation to EN. I am shouldering that mantle once again in 2008, having met some amazing people in 2007, who are coming along for the ride. I've also helped set up the CSTSANZ concept along with Jenskijen. On top of that, I am also an assistant to the global coordinator, Beth, and the global forum admin.

Besides the CSTS stuff, I am currently doing a PhD in cancer and also teaching med tutes, having previously taught uni practicals. between that, most of my time is taken up, but i do like to go out to see movies, and when i have time, play or host parties for my wii

Hi I am ChingTing (chinese for dragonfly) and live in Canberra
I have been on SOZ since November and met Jenski Jen and others in Jan.
I am running a big SCA Uni event in mid July and so cannot devote to CSTS in Canberra but could assist someone else here to run it but Canberra is SMALL[SIZE=1] so prolly not happening though we do have a Chinese restaurant here in Weedon Close[SIZE=7]
which could be humorous. :D

Hi I'm Philip, also known as pmguy1987 from Serenity Oz forums and philip.mitchell on the Bellflower forums. I found out about CSTS from the Serenity Oz Forums and have attended both years (2006 and 2007) and offered my help with last years screening.
I'm looking forward to getting more involved with this years CSTS.

I am a full time student doing Diploma in Screen (Film and Television) at tafe this year. I've made a short film last year as part of my course for Certificate IV in Screen. Also work part time at EzyDVD. My interests include movies and tv, playing video games, going out, making movies etc.

Hey everyone My name is Simon. I found out about this wonderful event shortly before 2007 event and was the only guy to dress up for it (though admitedly i didnt put much effort in) and am now unofficialy the official CSTS helper monkey for adelaide.

Im currently working on moving in to a computer science degree at adelaide university and am a fairly general geek. There's not much that I don't do, Scifi, Computers, Anime, Roleplaying etc.

I'm Melissa, another Adelaide person AND another uni person doing a science degree (it's like we're all conveniently in the one place, or something...)

I like Terry Pratchett, zombie films, and comic books. I was at last years CSTS Adelaide (dressed as a paramedic - obscure costumes FTW), and despite not having seen all of Buffy, I'm also a helper monkey.

My name is Steve. I am not a Uni dude, but i am from Adelaide.
I am your friendly Admin and Web Designer, running my own small web Design Business from home.

I am aslo Miranda's big brother so I will try not to say too much that would embarrass her. I will be somewhat silent on the forums, as I am only background support.

I have only seen the first few eps of Firefly, so bear with me as I know very little about Serenity.

I hope you all enjoy using these forums. Any feedback is always welcome.

I'm James. Been to both Adelaide CSTS screenings so far, helping out on the day with the 2007 event.

Unfortunately, this year I can't make it at all as the event is on a friday and now living in the Riverland it's a little hard.

Hi. I'm Colsy (or Andrew if you so wish). I found out about the Adelaide 2007 screening through a random addage on myspace since i had serenity listed under favorite movies (probably). I liked the concept of what was going on and supported it. I couldn't make it in person unfortunately due to it being in Adelaide and me being in Perth. I forwarded on all bulletins about the event though and tried to get my over east friends interested. Looking forward to this years event in which (if money permits) i may travel to the adelaide screening (god knows i need a holiday before my final semester of uni), or I will be at the Perth one if it goes ahead!

Hi! My name is Lisa and I live in Western Sydney. I became a Serenity fan at last year's CSTS screening in Sydney... Ki (amillion2one) dragged me along to it, in hoping that she'd convert... and she succeeded. ;) I have both Serenity and the Firefly series on DVD!! lol

Hola!
I'm Amanda, which is my forum name, but my real name is, er, Amanda. Unoriginal, I know. Anyways, I am in Melbourne, and have been a fan of the Serenity universe since Firefly was shown on channel Seven here in Melbourne at 1am in the morning waaaay back in 2004. I work in media monitoring, which basically means I get to watch and listen and read lots of dodgy news reports. In my real life, I love everything to do with sci -fi, acting, writing, and music. I also adore watching movies and Dvds (dub video dub ), and thanks to Buffy Season 8 and The Watchmen, started getting to the world da Comic, Graphic Novel if you will. The Kino in Melbourne is an awesome theatre btw, it has the most. comfortable. seats. ever.[I]

cheers Browncoats.... :D
