This is turning into something that is going to cause disharmony and distraction to the England team in the Euros. Instead of getting behind the team there will be constant speculation and commentary in the press for the wrong reasons.

Personally I think Hodgson has made a big mistake in the way he has handled this. His comments "for footballing reasons" have left him open to speculation and interpretation. "what footballing reasons?" as Rio rightly asks.

Why not come out and say it. He wants John Terry in the team and Rio has a suspect injury record. Having them both in the team causes him a headache.

Well guess what Roy. You now have an even bigger headache.

I'm sorry but Hodgson is the wrong personality to manage England. We needed a strong manager who is bigger than the collective egos in the team and bang some heads together. If you want to play for England you leave all other baggage behind and concentrate on the team and play with whoever you are picked with.

I don't see how he can leave Ferdinand out now that Cahill is injured and pick an untested kid for the team? something really not quite right here.

Roy's the England manager and he has the right to choose his team. He certainly shouldn't be made to justify his team choice by the gutter press and Rio Ferdinand's agent. Who did you want, Rentaquote 'Arry, who's now floundering around trying to save his career? Don't judge Hodgson till after the Euros, and please don't be swayed by the red tops. Remember Graham Taylor? I never want to see that kind of journalism again but it's started already.

Ferdinand should have gone to the Euros, even a case for Anton could be argued.

It is Hodgson choice though and he has to live with what he has done, it may turn out ok or it may be a disaster.

With out Rio though who will be doing the videos ? wink.gif

My objections to Hodgson are purely for footballing reasons!

And I have never read a red top in my life. Humph.gif

Some will be surprised to know that I'm a fan of Woy. But feel he missed a trick in his team selection and apart from Rio, footballing reasons he should have also left Terry, shagging and racist reasons.

Anton is a bad shout, can't see him playing next to Terry anytime soon.

Kelly's choice as replacement is another area where the press can drive in their softly softly hate campaign. Not so much Kelly but the replacement pool.

Tomkins should have been selected for experience as he is going into that England set up next season!
