Following their return to the premiership, West Ham are set to make an audacious bid for old boy Frank Lampard, who is set to be released by Chelsea. Lampard is also being eyed by Sp*rs though, and is thought to favour a move to White Hart Lane

West Ham are poised to make a move for Sunderland midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady.
Elmohamady, 24, has failed to make any impact at the Stadium of Light since Martin O'Neill took charge last season. The Egyptian midfielder is keen to stay in the Premier League and regain the form which saw him become a regular under former boss Steve Bruce. Sam Allardyce is planning to bring in at least four new players during the summer following his side's promotion and wants players with top-flight experience. With Henri Lansbury returning to Arsenal following his loan spell and both Julien Faubert and Papa Bouba Diop being released by the club this week, the West Ham boss is looking to bolster his midfield. Allardyce would like to get his business done in the transfer market as early as possible and looks set to make a move for Elmohamady in the next few weeks.

West Ham are hoping to finalise a permanent deal for Sunderland defender George McCartney following their promotion into the Premier League.
McCartney has failed to secure a regular first team place at the Stadium of Light and jumped at the chance to re-join the east London club on a season-long loan back in August. The former Northern Ireland international played a major role in helping West Ham gain promotion back into the Premier League and would now love the chance to stay at Upton Park. West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has already started to make plans for life in the Premier League and hopes the club can agree a deal with Sunderland to bring McCartney to Upton Park on a permanent basis.
