Barry White - August 24, 2010 04:18 PM (GMT)
Undisc amount paid by us for him as well, makes you wonder how much we're down on him? :dunno:

Grays-hammer - August 24, 2010 04:19 PM (GMT)
Well sell him and keep Benni FFS

Grays-hammer - August 24, 2010 04:21 PM (GMT)
West Ham have sold Alessandro Diamanti to Brescia for 2.2m euros (£1.8m).

The 27-year-old forward had cost the Hammers £6m when they signed him 12 months ago from Livorno and scored eight goals, including four penalties.

But he played only 17 minutes of boss Avram Grant's first two games in charge, having featured on 29 occasions for the Upton Park club in 2009-2010.

A West Ham statement said the sale would "release space in the squad for another player to be brought in."

Brescia won the last promotion spot to Serie A after winning a play-off against Torino at the end of last season.

Should they do enough this season to remain in Italy's top flight for another term, another 300,000 euros (£245,000) will be payable to West Ham.

The Hammers added in their statement: "Diamanti faced stiff competition for a first-team place with the arrivals of Pable Barrera, Thomas Hitzlsperger and Frederic Piquionne."

The club concluded its release by revealing it "could unveil more exciting new faces before the transfer window shuts [on 31 August]."

West Ham, with no points from their first two Premier League games this season, were linked with a move for Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro

Its lunacy

Sell a genuinely exciting face at a £4 million loss (as I remember he cost £6 mill funded jointly by sbobet and the sale of Collins)

And we know any replacement will not be exciting despite the official statement.

Ben_The_Hammer - August 24, 2010 05:12 PM (GMT)
Blatantely made a loss on him!!!

I just wonder how much?

Hmmm, clearly wasnt in the first team plans!

bedshammer - August 24, 2010 06:35 PM (GMT)
If we made a loss on him, could it possibly be that Duckers, Zola and Nani paid over the odds for him in the fisrt place?

One word. Savio.

The_Swede_Escape - August 25, 2010 02:43 PM (GMT)
if we now dont buy Carlos Tevez to take over HIS number 32 shirt... and if we do not get him for about 30 quid... Golivan will not be on my christmas card list

Hammerofthescots - August 25, 2010 04:23 PM (GMT)
HOTS is disapointed. Thought Diamond Geezer could be the next Di canio or the First Diamanti if he proved better. some lovely touches and the only one in the team to be able to do something creative from a dead ball situation. Shame he didn't work out.

Back to clogging the ball down the middle I guess. :dunno:

Which fucking idiot allowed this to occur?
He was the only one in the team that could play football FFS.

Is Avram on a mission to fuck us up? Did we prevent him winning the PL at the Chavs?

Beginning to think we have a yes man of the highest order and the two D are picking the first team with advise from KB.

This is as bad a sale as Collins and Zamora.

Hammers Dad - August 27, 2010 07:20 AM (GMT)
I agree Gibs
There was rumblings about the cost of Diamanti when the 2 Daves bought the club and it was obvious they weren't impressed

Tom Bowler - June 21, 2012 04:59 PM (GMT)
Did we have any clause in case he puts England out the Euros

bedshammer - June 21, 2012 07:05 PM (GMT)
Brescia still owe us for him.

Hammerofthescots - June 25, 2012 10:32 AM (GMT)
Classic comment I heard during the match against Italy yesterday when Diamanti curled one that hit the post:

"It would be somewhat ironic if England were undone by a West Ham reject!"

Well it made me smile ( not when he put away the penalty though!)

Still can't understand why we let him go. :humph:

Gib's 'appy 'ammer - June 25, 2012 07:01 PM (GMT)
why was he a reject?
he like the rest of the ities played us off the park.
Reject my arse, our management couldn't cope with a technically superior footballer!
Lets hope BFS buys a couple of wops!

Hammers to Sue Brescia

Italy international Diamanti, who scored the winning penalty in Sunday night's shoot-out victory over England in Kiev, signed for the Hammers in August 2009 from Livorno for £6million.

However, he was allowed to move back to Italy after just one season in the English Premier League.

It is, though, the player's subsequent transfer to Bologna in a co-ownership deal following Brescia's relegation to Serie B that has left the Hammers incensed.

In July 2011, West Ham asked for Diamanti's registration by the Italian Football Federation to be suspended as they had not yet been paid the latest installment of the £2million transfer fee.

West Ham co-owner David Gold said on Twitter: "We sold Diamanti to Brescia because he was desperate to return to Italy.

"He was then sold to Bologna. We are suing Brescia for the money."

Italy international Alessandro Diamanti has committed his future to Bologna by signing a new long-term deal at the club.

The 29-year-old former West Ham man could effectively see out his career at the Stadio Renati Dall'Ara after penning a five-year contract.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Bologna have reached an agreement with Alessandro Diamanti to prolong his contract until June 30, 2017."

Diamanti enjoyed a hugely impressive season with the Rossoblu, scoring seven Serie A goals and forcing his way into Italy's Euro 2012 squad.

The left-footed forward scored the winning penalty in the Azzurri's 4-2 shoot-out victory over England in the quarter-final of that tournament.

Now can we have our money??
