His mind had been buzzing this whole week, making it rather hard in order for him to think clearly. The snow. The fight.. there was so much in which the man was trying his best in order to understand. As much as he wanted in order to think about what was happening, it seemed difficult at the moment. He wanted to be the type who could walk about the area and attempt to think about what had happened. After London, he had asked Penelope to be his girlfriend. It was the right thing in order to do, especially because of the fact that he had kissed her yet, there was another theory that lingered within his head. Anna. While leaning against the railing, he let out a moan as he thought of the young woman. Why you may ask? There was a feeling that something was wrong with her. Every time she was around him, it seemed as her nerves had acted up. She seemed nervous around him, always trying her best in order to hide her face from him. It made him ponder a thought at the moment, something in which he never would have thought about before. Couldn’t it be a potential? Was there something about Anna in which he didn’t know? It was something in which he was hoping that he would be able to understand today and get to the bottom of whatever was happening. There had to been a reason for it all and, at the moment, he seemed to have the slightest idea as to why.

Anna had feelings for him.

Rubbing the back of his neck, he tried his best in order to think about what could be done at the moment. He knew that he needed to tell the woman at the moment, especially with everything that had been happening lately. As for what the woman would think about him, he really didn’t want to know. For some reason, he had a feeling that the woman wouldn’t be too happy whenever she found out with the fact that he was dating her boss. Yes, that was not something in which he was looking forwards to. Why couldn’t things just be simple at the moment? Oh right, because nothing was simple – there was nothing which seemed to have provided any sort of simplicity. As a matter of fact, he would just have to deal with it. The man was the one who had brought them into it and therefore, he would have to deal with it. Pushing himself away from the railing, he shoved his hands within the pockets of his jacket as he continued to roam across the pier, humming lightly to himself as he tried his best in order to think about the situations that were at hand. He was going to have to face her and deal with the fact that he was not in love with her and instead, was in love with someone else. Yes, that would work well whenever it came to telling Anna about the situation that he was faced with.

As he continued to walk, he just hummed to himself, trying to calm all the nerves that were flowing within his bloodstream. Only when he reached a certain area, he stopped and turned himself around in order to look at the waves, watching as they crashed about the area. It made him closed his eyes before speaking to himself. “What am I doing? Why couldn’t I just.. disappear right now..” That was the easy way in order to get out though, right now he would have to just deal with it. Opening his eyes slowly, he grabbed his phone before taking it out, allowing his eyes to scan it. Earlier on today he has texted Anna, asking her to meet him here. As for receiving anything back, there was nothing however, he expected the woman to be here. Anna was not the type of person who would let him down. It just wasn’t her personality and therefore, he was hoping that she would come. As for if she didn’t, well he would just have to wait a little bit longer and see what would happen. Maybe soon she would come along and help him out. Maybe, just maybe, he would get to see the young woman’s face. It was important that she came in order to speak to him but he knew her well.

At least, that is what he was hoping for.

Anna-Lee Jacobs - December 10, 2011 10:31 PM (GMT)
Anna was besides herself. The moment it happened all she could do was stare down at the greenish aged tinge of her cell phone screen. Anna had just come home from an all too tiring day of errands, on her one day off work of course. Her father was already down for her regular nap, grocery shopping done, apartment cleaned, and a run to target for other things had rendered Anna to drift into her room and automatically kick off her shoes. As was her habit, Anna always before of thinking of anything else, put on a record. Sure she could play music from her computer, but Anna was in love with vinyl. Today seemed to be Maryanne Faithful day. Anna loved music from the mod 60's, and Maryanne's Faithful's "This Little Bird" was a perfect example of the genre

As she sank into her bed, to tired with the day and about to nap a buzz from her phone turned everything around. At first she didn't recognize the number. Anna opened the text, and there it was. In perfect text font. Tristan. An invitation. TRISTAN BOIVIN HAD TEXTED HER AND INVITED HER TO MEET. Anna shot up like a pistol at a race from her bed and stared at the text for who knows how long. She couldn't believe it. All that affection from afar, all those longing stares as she served him his coffee...he noticed. And, since of course Anna all to excited to think of much else interpreted Tristan's invitation as a date. For once life ...it was happening to her. Anna could almost cry, so over the moon.

Anna's crush over Tristan seemed to litter her fantasies with what could be. Tristan was every little thing Anna could envision as perfection in man. Anna had fallen hard and fast for really, a fantasy. Too nervous to speak to Tristan and although on friendly terms Anna hardly knew the guy. Still, when crushes happen they happen almost violently and without warning. The day she had met Tristan, Anna nearly spilled over his coffee while handing it to him. He was of course terrible english and gentlemanly about it. How could a girl like Anna not fall stupidly in love? Her days were dull when she didn't have him to look forward too. Anna would hope he'd come in or she'd bump into him some place. Little did she knew that Tristan was actually dating her boss from another job.

Still Anna seemed to beam with a happiness she'd never know. In high school although she didn't know it then or even now boy regarded her as pretty but too, "little miss perfect" to ask on a date. This resulted in Anna's low self esteem. Like today, back then Anna's life revolved around work. Nothing had changed, except Anna's ever growing loneliness. Anna had never gone a date. The one boy she did date in High School, was a cocky boy who pretty much forced himself into a relationship with Anna. It lasted less than a month once the boy figured out that Anna would never put out. Anna would practically giddy with the idea of Tristan asking her out on a real date. As she bounded for the closet, Anna's shoulders slumped at the discovery that Anna had nothing to impress Tristan with. All her clothes were ...not so great.

A call to a friend, and a borrowed dress later Anna readied herself. She showered quicker than she had ever showered, even watched a youtube video on how to put on make up in a retro fashion way. Anna had never primped and prepared this much in her life. Her wildest dream was coming true. Anna, as she finished looked at herself in the mirror. Her father already awake and wondering what his daughter had got up too wheeled himself in. One look at his daughter and his mouth dropped. He'd never seen his daughter like this, Anna who so selflessly sacrificed everything for him. She looked so happy, Anna's father couldn't help but gush over his little girl. He assured Anna that Tristan didn't have a chance and he would surely fall for her. Anna for the first time in her life, felt pretty.

Saying her quick goodbye's she climbed into her beat up old 60's pick up and drove to the pier. It being rather cold, from the aftermath of the storm Anna put on her heaviest coat. White gloves dressed her hands, as she walked over to the standing man. She couldn't help but smile at the figure standing before her. He of course was painfully handsome as always. Shyly she clears her throat, "So..of the places to meet why the pier?"She couldn't think of what else to say. Anna grinned ignorantly as she walked up closer to Tristan.

The man never expected what would have happened at t he moment so while he was looking out at the ocean, he had never seen what had happened. Anna, the young woman whom he decided in order to talk to today, had come to greet him. It was something in which he wasn’t expecting at all. So while his eyes were looking out at the ocean, he allowed his eyes to wander as he tried his best in order to figure out what could have been said at the moment. Of course, there were a couple of things though at the moment, he knew that the best thing in order to do was to keep quiet and make sure that everything was going to be okay. As for what he was going to say at the moment, it was all being repeated constantly within his mind at the moment. Everything needed to be planned out accordingly and therefore, it made it difficult at the moment. He knew that she had feelings for him and yet, he needed to take her heart and shatter it into a million pieces. Perhaps that was something in which he shouldn’t have done at the moment and yet, he had to do it. There was something else that was happening within his life which wouldn’t allow him in order to have feelings for her.

Penelope has appeared in his life and they seemed to have had this certain connection that no one else had.

It was only then in which he heard the voice of Anna, causing him to flinch as thought had been whipped by something. Taking in a deep breath, he turned his head to look at the woman, his mouth opened in order to say something if only the words hadn’t gotten stuck within his throat. His eyes landed upon the form of Anna and his mouth closed quickly. No, she really didn’t believe that this was a date at the moment, did she? This couldn’t have been happening at all. He didn’t want her in order to think that. Rubbing the back of his neck, he tried his best in order to figure out what could be said and yet, it seemed so hard. “Anna..” He was finally able to speak thankfully, especially with the trouble that could have occurred if he didn’t. Raising his hand up to the back of his neck, he rubbed it gently, trying his best in order to figure out what sort of compliment he should have given her. Oh, he should have had Penelope help him out with this. He wasn’t good whenever it came to breaking women’s hearts. “I must admit that you look lovely today though, I wasn’t expecting you to actually come being dressed like this.” Then again, he really didn’t know what he was expecting from her.

Allowing the silence to linger about them, the man soon remember the question that the woman had decided in order to ask him. She wanted to know why the man had decided in order to choose this place of all places. Well, it was something in which he couldn’t help. There was just something about the ocean in which the man thought was calming. Hell, even his date with Penelope was somewhere near the ocean. It was the one thing which seemed to have helped him out whenever it came to his nerves. Maybe it was something in which he should have done more often. “Why did I decide in order to be here?” He paused for a moment as he tried his best in order to figure out what he could say at the moment. It needed to be something witty at the moment. “Well, to be honest, the ocean had this.. calming effect on me. You see, it is charming in order to watch the waves as they roll into the beach. Hell, if I had enough money, I would have a house on the beach, just so I could watch the waves before the sun popped up. Sounds sort of crazy, now doesn’t it?” It was a question in which he thought was crazy but then again, maybe she didn’t think so.

It was so hard to tell.

Anna-Lee Jacobs - December 13, 2011 01:43 AM (GMT)
As Tristan turned and faced her, the sun was at his back and created this blinding aura about him. He was like...a white knight. Or so, Anna viewed Tristan as, the white knight of her dreams. She practically swooned as he looked at her. Anna hugged her small clutch against her chest, having small internal panic if she looked good enough to impress him. As he spoke Anna felt herself melt, why was he so perfect. So perfect and here he was with her. Tristan could have anyone he wanted and yet, he picked this place with all its natural beauty and wanted Anna as company. She felt herself living a dream.

Anna took one brave step forward to be nearer to Tristan. She didn't want to infringe on his personal space. Although she had many a day dream about infringing his personal space...really nice day dreams in fact. The small wrapped box making a lump within Anna's small clutch. Fishing it out while Tristan spoke she holds the small thing in her hand. Practically, shaking with excitement wanting to give the small token to man Anna felt herself falling for. As he spoke, Anna just relented ever more to the vision of Tristan she had in her mind. As he spoke about the ocean she too looked out to it's vast blue infinity. Even in the cold, the ocean seem relentless beautiful. She understood Tristan's love for it completely.

"Oh, I absolutely agree Tristan. It's...it's perfect. It makes sense you'd like it. I mean, you're perfect so.."Anna's voice gave way to a shy mumble. Blushing all over as Anna tried to find the fortitude to speak up. "It doesn't sound crazy. I someday you do get that house on the beach. I'm starting to believe the impossible is possible. I mean...here we are. You. Me. Tristan...could I just speak, because if I don't get this all out now I'll never have enough courage again."Stepping closer, Anna suddenly exhilarated with her own boldness takes Tristan's hand in her's. Within Tristan's open palm she places her painstakingly picked gift. "I wanted to give you a little something. You know for Christmas. It's not much, but it's been in my family for a bit and I thought you should have. My dad had them, my grand father, and so and so on. And I wanted to give them to you because well...you're the most special person I could think of. In fact..."Anna takes in and let's out a big breath bracing herself for the flood gates of her emotions to finally be out into the light.

Anna hadn't let go of Tristan's hand. She was so wonderfully lost within it's warmth. "I think I'm falling in love with you. I know we just friends, and don't know a lot about each other, but I've never felt so passionately about a person. Since I first saw you, the day you walked into the cafe I've never been able to stop thinking of you. I never thought a person like you could exist, someone so charming, kind, and well...you. Then you came into the cafe and it all changed. I can't believe we're here just you and me, that you would even notice how much I care about you. And...I think, I mean by you asking me here well...that you feel the same way."Anna was lost in puppy love. Holding Tristan' hand against her, and looking longingly into his eyes. Ignorance was bliss.

The man wasn’t expecting the woman to take a step towards him and hold out something within her hand. Blinking slowly, he looked down at the box, gulping lightly with a fear of what it could have been. He really didn’t know. Holding out his hand, he would only be surprise when the woman grabbed onto his hand and put the present into it. “Err.. thank you..” He whispered, taking his fingers as he began to carefully unwrap the present that he had. It revealed a box, which caused him in order to furrow his brother together. Alright, this was going to get complicated, now wasn’t it? It was something that the man assumed. After taking in a deep breath, he couldn’t help but to open the box, fumbling inside of it for whatever the woman had decided to get him. He was curious as to what it was and whether or not it was something that he already had, not that he would judge the woman for it. As a matter of fact, he would have been far more grateful than what one would have imagined. He just wanted to know what it was. After pulling out the pieces of paper which seemed to have been stuffed in there, there was something which caught his eye. Inside of the box looked to have been something which looked to have been made out of medal. Upon closer inspection, he figured out what it was: cufflinks.

What the hell?

Blinking slowly, he took each one out and held it into his hands, not noticing that Anna was still holding onto his hand. It wasn’t something that he was expecting from her. When the woman said something about it being in her family for a long time, it caused his eyes to look up at the woman, a frown forming upon his face. No, this was not something in which he could accept at the moment. Not if it was from the family. “Anna, I cannot accept this if it is from the family. It is a heirloom and therefore..” Too bad for him, the man was unable to finish the sentence that he would have loved to day. Instead, the words were wiped from his lips when Anna did something rather brash. She was a bit too close to him and Tristan could feel his palms sweating. Blinking slowly, he could feel his heart drop into the pit of his stomach when the floodgates of the woman decided to open, pouring out all of the emotions that she had for him. It was enough to cause him enough pain as is. He could feel his heart aching as he stood there, as frozen as could be as he tried his best in order to figure out how to deal with the situation. No, he couldn’t love Anna. The man was in love with someone else and therefore, loving another would only make it difficult for her. If only he didn’t have to deal with this!

With no words being able to come out of his throat, he began to back up, shaking his head wildly as he tried his best in order to convince the woman that she couldn’t be falling in love with him. What was he supposed to say to her. “I’m sorry Anna but I cannot accept either this gift or your love. There is someone else who I love.. someone who I am committed to. I’m sorry but.. it isn’t something that I can do. I wish I could.. I wish I could love you as much as you love me but yet I cannot. My heart.. my soul has decided in order to choose someone else. It has decided to love someone else..” He could feel his heart pounding against his chest a she tried his best in order to ignore what was happening at the moment. It was not something in which he wanted at all. He wanted to love and admire the woman and yet, his heart wouldn’t allow it. Instead, it had decided in order to love another, someone in which the women knew about. And this caused him a good amount of pain, enough pain to nearly cause tears to swell into the woman’s eyes. “I love Penelope.. I love John. The one woman who you call your boss, I call my lover. My equal. I am so sorry Anna however, I cannot love you as much as I love her. Please.. understand..”

What else could he say?

Anna-Lee Jacobs - December 27, 2011 09:17 PM (GMT)
Everything, all of it played out like some fantasy made reality. The man she had idealized for so long, was finally stepping into reality. In so many ways Anna was a virgin. She was virgin of experiences. Not much changed within Anna's world. She lived in dreams, all she couldn't do in real life. That is why at this present moment, it felt a lot like waking dream. Being with Tristan seemed the most logical and beautiful dream come true. Had she won the cosmic lottery? Anna didn't know, but she did feel lucky to be held within Tristan's gaze. The way she looked at Tristan was of utter devotion and adoration.

She was blinded by his kindness and his gentility. His good looks helped too. What made Tristan so different from all other crushes, was that somehow destiny had conspired to intertwine the two together so Anna didn't have a choice but face her fear of the opposite sex. Anna believed in signs, universal symbols. Tristan's kindness, Anna had interpreted as actual romantic interest. His treatment of her Anna couldn't help but romanticize. As if he was her white prince, come to whisk her away. Little did she know that the tangled web of life and love was filled with poisonous pit falls. She was doomed the moment she saw him. Anna was to experience a pain harsher than any bodily wound.

Blue orb eyes lighting up at his shock of her gift. "No no, Tristan have them! I want you too! "Puppy love was rather a potent thing. As Tristan backed away slowly, Anna as if compelled by an invisible lasso could only follow. Her smile extended ear to ear, thinking that Tristan would be touched by the gesture. Everything was so simple in youth. Anna had the gaze of inexperience, she was defenseless to the cruelties of love. What happened next...time stopped.

It slowly painfully as Anna heard what came out of Tristan's mouth. Her smile faded away like the wilting of a flower. Her expression morphed into one of a torture victim, a hand at her chest to clutch at what she was sure felt like a crushing deep within her chest. Anna breathed in deeply as she processed the information. Tears welled, and fell before Anna couldn't even fathom them forming. It was like the decent of bomb, a slow whistle....then a grizzle boom. Anna felt like her heart had actually been cut out of her, as if someone had punched right in the stomach. She looks at Tristan blankly, turning on her heels making a mad dash back into her car. All she felt like doing was dissolving, dissolving into nothingness . How could she have been so stupid? She rushed to her truck as fast as her feet could carry her there, leaving Tristan at the pier. Within her truck, Anna just fell apart. Sobbing uncontrollably, the pain in her chest making it hard to breathe. Mascara ran from her face in black rivers down her cheeks. Curling up into a ball in the long passengers seat.

He should have known that this wasn’t something in which he should have done. Yes, the man figured that the young woman would have had some sort of reaction to the fact that he basically just turned her down and yet, he wasn’t expecting something like this. As a matter of fact, the man was expecting the woman in order to be a bit more understanding with what he had said. Too bad for him, he should have figured out that it wasn’t going to be the case with her. So it was only with her reaction in which he couldn’t help but to blink, he eyes just looking at the woman, his mouth opening as he tried his best in order to figure out what could be said to her at the moment. What would be able to calm the woman’s nerves about him not feeling the same way? It was hard to tell and yet, the man wanted to actually comfort the woman and have her understand though it didn’t seemed as though it was going to happen anytime soon. With his mouth opened, his was about ready in order to speak when suddenly, she ran off on him, leaving him standing there, trying his best in order to figure out what could have done. He couldn’t just allow the woman in order to run off without him explaining himself. The man wanted to say one thing, wanted to make sure that the woman was comforted with the situation that he had thrown at her.

Shit, this was not something that he had planned at all.

“Look at what you have done to her..” He whispered to himself, running his fingers through his hair while his eyes looked out towards the ocean, a small amount of depression seeming to linger upon his chest. He never would have thought that the woman would have run off on him but he needed to fix the situation. Tristan needed to make sure that everything was going to be alright. Yes, he had caused the problem, something which actually made him feel horrible, but he was more than willing in order to fix it. It was something in which the man had to do for the woman at the moment. He needed to make sure that she understood the reason why. So after letting out a gentle sigh, the man slowly began to make his way towards the parking lot, wanting to try to find Anna and speak to her one on one. He was certain that the woman would hate him and yet, she just needed to know about it. The woman just had to know. There were so many things in order to explain. When he finally made his way into the parking lot, he looked about the area, trying his best in order to find the woman. Where the hell could she had possible wandered off to?

With only a few moments of wandering about like some sort of lost dog, his eyes picked up Anna’s truck in which sobbing was coming from it. Furrowing his brows, he made his way towards the truck, stopping right next to it and staring inside. Keeping silent at the moment, he just stared at her for only a second before raising one hand and gently tapping upon the woman’s window, not wanting to frighten her. After tapping on the window for a few moments, he allowed his hand in order to fall towards his side, his eyes looked at her, hoping in order for the woman to listen to what he had to say to her. God, why did this have to happen to him of all the people? “Anna, would you please listen to me? There are a couple of things in which I want to tell you and I think it is important if I tell you these things..” Yes, he thought that this was probably one of the most important things in which he could have possibly told the woman at the moment. Would she actually listen to him at the moment? It was going to be hard in order to say what he actually wanted to say to her and yes, it was important at the moment. The man needed to make sure that the woman understood what he was going through at the moment.

“I know that I have hurt you but I really didn’t know your feelings for me – I assumed, but didn’t know. If you would have told me about it, maybe things would have been different however, I cannot change the way that my heart feels at the moment. Penelope makes me feel as though.. well, it’s hard in order for me to explain but she makes me feel as though I belong with her. I understand if you are angry with me about this however, I cannot change my feelings..” He paused for a moment, allowing his mind to run as the man tried his best in order to figure out what he could actually say to the woman at the moment. There was something in which he could have said though, was it the right words in order to say? He was certain that they were probably better than anything else. Great, she would hate him. “You know, they say that if you love something, you should let it go. Perhaps, you should do me the favor and do the same..” His words feel silent as he just stood there, waiting to see what the woman would say at the moment. What could have been said by the woman? At the moment, he was hoping for her to just understand.

Anna-Lee Jacobs - January 9, 2012 07:00 PM (GMT)
It was the eeriest circumstance, her all curled up in the long front seat of her truck and Tristan tapping at her window saying God knows what. It was as if it was all happening in slow motion. All she felt was cold, cold and broken. This was Anna's first forray into heart break. Her only relationship was so long ago it hardly counted. Still, that was doomed from the start and when the boy did break up with Anna it was hardly something to cry over. She was glad it was over, but this...this was all together a different beast.

Anna blinded by the running of her mascara and tears. Anna trembled within herself, blinking to perhaps clear up her vision. Sure she heard the tapping Tristan. Anna couldn't even look at him, too afraid if she did she just might dissolved into nothing. The tiny drips of an oncoming freezing rain kept Anna company. It would seem Tristan wasn't keen on common sense. His next words just stung all the more, he didn't need to say them he could have just left. Anna wish he did. That he would have just felt her rather than go on and on about how much or how great his love for John was. Next was the King of stupid things to say, 'if you love something let it go." In that exact moment, Anna felt something else besides the crippling pain of first heart break. Hate. She hated him. Anna didn't think it possible, but there it was. Now he was pressuming that he was the one so put out, that she should just get over it.

Anna sniffled through some more terribly audible sobs. "LEAVE. LEAVE ME ALONE TRISTAN. SHUT UP. LEAVE ME ALONE. STEP AWAY FROM MY TRUCK! NOW!"Anna clicked open her phone and rushed through her phone bank. She needed someone to come get her . She was in no state to drive.
