Real World

The heatwave that had been washing through the city had been unbearable, so the sudden turn was a welcome reprieve. The morning air was brisk, cool, and refreshing for once. Typically Macrae would be staying inside, at least till his mother woke up to take him to the Dojo to train. But with the cool air for the first time in almost two months he was not going to waste this opportunity to take a nice long cool walk. He got changed and grabbed his bag of spare clothing and he took off on his first long walk of the last month or so. He was glad his mom had the car but he was more glad she had been willing to give him rides before now. He took his time, he had left an hour before he had to be there so he could enjoy the trip this time. Had it still been the heat wave, which was likely to arrive later today or tomorrow. He knew he could take the time for today because the next time might be after school started in a few weeks. He headed toward Dojo seeing it on the end of the street and he smiled as he saw several of his classmates had already arrived.

He smiled and moved toward the dojo in a jog, he called out to them and a few waved to them. He spoke to a few of them as he got to the doors and entered. He knew the Dojo was no place for fooling around but he knew his friends. He asked if they had their cards, and a few of them nodded and others said they would just watch. He set up the game for during their break session during their training. Macrae was not above bragging he was good at the game but he was not the best out of them but he was close. He was also one of the best in the class with the kendo stick. He knew that he could own a few kids with that stick if he had to.

Soon enough their break came, after each kid had a few welts thanks to the sticks and a careless action or two. Macrae had a welt on his cheek where Anathalia had moved to strike at him and stop, though the stick kept going more then expected and caught him across the cheek bone. It had hurt but he knew it was an accident, but he did make sure everyone knew he was the better, his pride would not allow him to be second best if it could be helped.

Now they where playing the card game, he was using a Agumon rookie card and was setting up an evolution chain to get him to ultimate in a few turns and take down his classmates digimon in that same turn. He was doing well, but when his classmate cut his chain short he had to begin to figure out what else to do, to recreate his chain. His classmates where calling out suggestions, and some he had to use as they where just good, but he hated to have to be helped.

After their break he and the class worked hard, but one of the boys looked down that he had lost, and he had rechallenged Macrae to another round tonight, after 7 at the park, where they could play a full game without all the house rules, which where designed for a speedy game. The teacher was always trying to discourage their interest in this card game and his friends and him just laughed it off, they liked it as a way to relax. Macrae had accepted the challenge of course, he said he would still win. After all he had to keep up with his pride and his ego. He knew he was good but he was always worried he would fail which made him try even harder.

After returning home he found that his mother had left, with a small meal left in the stove. She did this now and then, after his father had passed two years ago his mother had begun dating the last few months, or at least going out with people while not technically dates she told him it still felt like that to him. He unpeeled the wrap and began to eat right out of the pan as he was the only one eating it, it was ok to do that according to the house rules. He kept glancing at the cloak, he knew he could slip back in from the game before his mom came home. He wrote a note and put it on the fridge. ‘Thanks for the grub mom, it was wonderful. Love you, Macrae’ he left the note in red ink on the fridge with his digimon magnet. He knew she would like that, after all they rarely got to see one another unless it was during drives or on the rare night she did not go out and he did not have a massive flood of stuff to do like the summer homework.

Macrae moved to his room grabbing a box of cards from his closet before he moved to sit on his floor and spilled them out. He would go through them, reconstructing the desk from class to better fit with a full play and official rule set up. He brought out his card scanner, it would relay information of the card to him, as well as keep track of things such as bonuses and penalties. He worried that his opponent was going to pull a trick on him and he needed to be ready. He finished up his deck within an hour and a half, he was very dedicated to being exact.

As he got up and got ready to go he heard a ringing sound, and realized it was the phone on the wall. He went to pick it up and he heard his mother ask out “Hello?” And he said “Hi mom.” The talk was not much just a back and forth about her being out late, she was with her friend Elena and they where having fun, she would be home before to late, but she said she wanted him in bed early because they had to go to Grandma’s in the morning. He told her he would be in bed before she got home tonight. She told him she loved him and he said he loved her too, and for her to have fun and not worry so much. After he hang up he had to run out, locking the door before he left but he began to run to the park, a few blocks away.

By the time he got there the other kid, Joey, was already waiting for him and he smirked suggesting that he thought he had chickened out, but it was not mean spirited it was just a mind game and Macrae knew it and he didn’t mind but he did the whole your mom joke just to get him back. The two had known one another for four years so there was not a lot of hate or anything there, just liked to compete and hated to lose. Joey and Macrae took to the spot inside one of the climbing houses, where the wind would not wipe around and blow the cards away. It was a popular spot to duel one another during time at the park years ago.

The duel was not long, in fact Joey had a good bit of cards and comboed them well causing a lot of damage. The battle ended with him winning, but only just and Joey saying his card reader was broken and added something wrong. Macrae called him a bad loser and offered to use Joey’s card reader to show it was not a mistake. Joey said no and called him a dick and took off, just sad he had lost after all his hard work. Macrae was relieved as he had thought he was going to lose before he pulled a very lucky combo and won out, he had only been one card away from loss, but his pride would not let him say that when he spoke of this he would call it a landslide victory. He knew it would tick off his friend Joey but he could live with that for now.

As he looked through the combo he used, to be sure he did not cheat, because after all he could not win by cheating he would never allow that his own honor would not allow for it. He slide the second to last card of the combo through the device and as he picked up the final card, his digimon card he noticed it was not the right card. He dropped the card to the mat and looked around but could not find the card, after searching and not finding it he frowned picking up the blue card as it was in his hand. “What on earth is this?” He asked and he decided to clear the combo and slide the card through to see what card it was.

The reader began to run, digits and letters flashed over the screen faster and faster until it seemed to crash with – symbols across the screen before going black. He frowned fearing he broke it, maybe Joey had slipped him a funny card to fry his reader. The reader began to glow, which of course caused Macrae to drop the thing as if it had gotten red hot. As the reader hit the ground and bounced back up to hand height and he caught it, as if it where coming back to him. The device continued to glow and began to shift and change in his hand till it finished and the glowing stopped. In his hand was a black and silver device with a set of purple buttons and a purple line design along it. “What in the hell?” He asked confused and more then a little frightened.

Macrae rushed home, the device locked away inside his card box and he was freaking out. He dropped the box beside his pc as he yanked out the chair and brought up a search engine. He typed in digivice and only got the standard selection of toys and still shots from the animes. He was looking for a photo like his reader had become. He looked for a photo of anything like that but found nothing. He flipped open the box and almost jumped when he saw the screen was bright white and glowing. “Well what the hell is this all about?” He said to himself and he picked it up, wondering what it was doing. After all, all that stuff in the shows where just pretend right? He felt the digivice warm his hand and he looked to the pc as it happened, a small box appeared on the screen, a small map it seemed had opened up. He could see three places labeled on the screen.

The map was an island it seemed, a rather large one, the three spots where all over the map. He looked around the map and read the small names with it. Endless Plains was one, it was taking up most of the western side of the island and it looked flat and expansive. The Flare Crater was less explained, a series of tunnels maybe, the map was not that detailed and he did not know map markers well so he was unsure of it all. And lastly the only one highlighted in what was Native Forest. That was shown by trees and he understood that, plus the name gave it away, A forest. It seemed to be on the same side of the island as the Endless Plains, and seemed to fade into in some way. He was curious, the forests he had seen in the show where impressive and beautiful in some cases. He wondered if this was a program he had installed and forgotten about.

He moved his curser over to the words Native Forest which turned gold as the curser scrolled over them and floated there. He took a deep breath, though not really sure why, and clutched the device in his hand as he clicked the name and waited for whatever to happen.

Digital World

The light had been blinding, and it all happened so fast that Macrae didn’t remember it at all clearly. The world felt like it was spinning and if he had been told he had fallen into a roller coaster and got spun around he would believe it. He felt like his head was still spinning even as he felt the soil under his hands but he still felt like he was floating and spinning freely in space. He kept his eyes squeezed shut, afraid to open them and afraid he would vomit if he dared to open his eyes even a little. He finally started to breath, not really noticing he had not taken a breath since he landed wherever he had landed.

After his first breath he knew he was not in his home or even outside his home. He slowly opened his eyes, the light hurt his eyes, after all hadn’t it been dark a few minutes ago? He thought to himself and he slowly pushed off the ground, his clothes where different was the first thing he had noticed as the collar had changed, it was higher then normal almost around his nose in height as well as orange. He slowly got up and dusted himself off and he noticed the digivice was in his hand. He had noticed the digivice was fitted for his hand almost and it looked like it was brand new still. He liked the design but as he had seen there was nothing like it in the world.

He looked around then, pocketing the digivice for now. He knew he had time to see to it later but right now he was shocked by the surroundings. The trees where thick, or at least thicker then he was used to. There where trees every few feet or so and bushes and wild ferns all over the ground. He seemed to be on a foot path, as the ground under his foot had been worn and dusty, the path was beaten in my what looked like years of foot traffic. He kicked at the dirt and the dust floated up to his nose and he squeezed. It was now that he had noticed his bright blue hair and he watched the locks fall in front of his face and he was surprised he now had blue hair, what a weird dream this was becoming.

That was what he figured this was, an elaborate dream that he had yet to wake up from yet. This could not be real, it couldn’t be because the digital world was just from a tv show, games maybe, but it could not be real. He looked around still unsure of what else to think to make sense of any of this, he had suddenly arrived in a new area, with new clothing and blue hair. He knew this was not his style, though his hands seemed the same, the same small feint scars where there. He needed to figure out what was going on, just in case this was not a dream, but if it was not a dream then this was going to make a hell of a lot more interesting.

He looked around again and he moved to the tree closet to him and he touched it gently stroking the bark and feeling it under hand. It felt real, it felt rough to the touch and he wondered if maybe he was just somewhere having a delusional episode, maybe his mom had found him laying in a puddle of drool and sent him off to the nice building with the padded rooms and the awesome jackets. But no that could not be it, wouldn’t he remember something about his break down, something that trigger it or whatever. And he had a feeling this was not something inside his own mind he was not this creative after all.

He moved toward the path again and he noticed that something seemed to be coming down the path, really far away, or maybe just small. He didn’t really know what it was but he moved around and he spotted a fallen branch, it was thankfully mostly straight and he knocked off a few small branches and made it look somewhat like a very crappy kendo stick. He wanted to be ready to have some form of a weapon to protect himself from any form of attack after all he was very good with his kendo training. But as he stepped back onto the path he noticed the figure was closer then he thought, it was just smaller then he thought. From what little he could see of the figure it was purple and small, and seemed to have pointed ears, though not like those of a rabbit as they where slightly bent back as well.

The creature finally spotted a few dozen feet from him and it looked as nervous about him being there as he was of it. The digimon was easy to identify, an Impmon, though he was not sure much about the digimon, after all he used the card yes but in the tamer show he had been a real jerk. The Impmon it seemed was worried the same about Macrae. “Who are you?’ He asked his attitude was the same but he didn’t seem to have the jersey accent, it wasn’t really one he could pinpoint but it was an accent. “I’m…” He started and decided to not use his real name, best not to use a regular name right now “Marrow, my name is Marrow” He said trying to throw on an attitude for it to make it seem real. Impmon raised a brow at his name and he laughed “That’s the dumbest name I have ever heard” he said and his laughter began to raise higher as he stood there. Marrow, as he had named himself only a moment ago, replied “Says the guy who is tiny as can be and has the stupidest name in history.. Imp Monster.. Wow really original.” He teased the little thing.

The Impmon frowned and he launched himself at the tamer. Marrow waited for Impmon to get in close before ducking down and letting impmon fly over his head as Impmon had tried to jump on his chest. Marrow rose to his feet with his stick in front of him “Dada Boom!” The young digimon called out and launched a handful of fire at him. He ducked to the right, sliding down to his knee on the right side and as the impmon charged at him again. He rose a little and he spun around and slammed the Impmon across the midsection and caused him to fly back a few feet. The little impmon bounced off the ground and rolled to his feet firing an Infernal Tunnel at him. He saw the tornado of flames coming at him and he jumped to the right and skid across the ground making a mess of his clothing.

As he coughed from the dirt flooding the air around him and Impmon laughed again forming a small fireball at his finger tip. Marrow got up coughing a bit and he spun the fake kendo stick, which had scorch marks from the heat now. He stood up and Impmon charged him again launching the fireball. He smacked it down with the stick which ignited. Impmon had launched the fireball mid air, hoping to flip over him as he ducked the fireball. Marrow smacked the little impmon between the eyes with the flaming stick and sent him slamming into the ground blinking confused by the action.

“Now your going to stop tha… ouch!” He cried out and tossed the flaming stick away his heats catching to much heat to hold it easily. Impmon had a blackened mark on his forehead and a bruise across his chest. “Why did you attack me dummy” He said wincing and blowing on his hands to cool them. The Impmon struggled to his feet though h seemed dizzy and sat back down “you called my name stupid” He said a very childish thing to say but hadn’t Marrow also been offended he had not liked his made up name. “Sorry” Marrow said after that “I was just angry at you for laughing at me” He explained.

The digivice in his pocket began to glow, the light so bright it produced a brilliant light out of his pocket and Impmon gasped “What is that?” He asked and Marrow shrugged pilling the digivice out, the light bathing out in all directions causing Impmon’s bruises and blackened mark faded away until they where gone completely. The little digimon stood up staring at him in show and confusion “That is a digivice” he said, his voice in awe. “It is?” He asked then smiled “Wha…” He stopped “I think I’ll call it a Mark VII, there are like six others right?” He asked which got a shrug from Impmon. “I don’t know, but it healed me” the digimon said blinking as it checked itself for the injuries that had been there from the moment before.

“What does that mean?” Marrow asked and Impmon was still in awe “I think..” He looked down embarrassed now “I think I am suppose to be your partner, why else could it heal me.” The Impmon said, wanting to kick himself for attacking his tamer like that, he deserved to stay hurt after that. “Really?” He asked and he noticed a fact he had ignored before, the card that had turned blue had been an Impmon card before it changed. He wondered if he was always meant to be with an Impmon or if he had swiped another digimon would that have been his partner?

“Well Impmon, let me guess, Native Forest?” He asked nodding along with Impmon “Ok Impmon let’s just let me get my bearings, I need a little bit of a moment. He moved to a near by tree and slide down it, Impmon moved to sit beside him in silence, annoyed with his behavior at trying to hurt his Tamer. “Well either this is one hell of a dream or it’s real, oh god”

"If it's a dream, we're both stuck in it... Though I don't think that that's the case" a man walked up from a few trees away, a puddle of water hovering over his shoulder. The man looked to be in his mid twenties, boasting an athletic physique and a kind smile.

"I hope I didn't startle you, my name's Addo. My partner here said he heard voices, and we both heard the ruckus so I thought we'd come over and see if everything was okay."

The puddle of water grew in size as it drifted lower to the ground. "Oh, sorry. This is my partner, Mikey" Addo pointed a thumb at the blob of water as it finished its transformation, taking on the shape of a tall, blue-furred, half-man half-rabbit being. One of its ears stood tall, while the other lopped over halfway up. The thing wore an unbuttoned vacation t-shirt and a pair of navy blue swim trunks. It didn't have a physique to be impressed by, as its stomach hung over its waistline a bit, but its six foot height and its aura of confidence seemed to give it a rather assertive disposition.

"Nice ta meetcha" it said with a smile, giving a friendly wave as it looked back and forth from the impmon to the boy.

"So, is everything alright over here?" Addo asked, suspiciously eying charred stick, and the rest of the area around, noticing that something must have been going on.

Marrow had been thinking quietly for those moments before Addo appeared out of no where. His mind had been going through the last night at the human world, while he didn’t want to believe this was really the digital world he could not deny he was sitting next to a impmon who had tried to deep fry him a few moments before. The Impmon who had no name of his own yet sat in silence beside him. The few moments before Addo arrived where tense and confusing for both of them. Marrow didn’t hold a grudge against his partner and Impmon felt that but he hated that he could have hurt his partner, especially since he was well aware he was created to be his partner and Marrow would need his help to survive this world. He looked up about to say something, but he noticed the movement out of the corner of his eye and turned to see what it was. Marrow was not as aware as his partner and he was about to say something when Addo spoke up from out of no where.

Impmon was on his feet first, though to be fair this was mostly due to the fact that he had smaller legs and could actually jump from his butt to his feet in an easy hope. Marrow rolled over and up to his feet and stood up, glancing to Impmon as he noticed the flicker of light. Impmon now held a small fireball at the tip of his finger. “No” Marrow said his tone was more collected then he thought it would have been and impmon tossed it up into the air and it burnt out instantly.

“Sorry about that” Marrow said and nodded “Honestly, I don’t think so either” he said and noticed the puddle of water floating over his shoulder. His eyes narrowed on it, not recalling any digimon off the top of his head that could do that. After Addo introduced himself and his digimon, Marrow nodded “I am Marrow, and this is Impmon, we haven’t decided on a proper name yet” He said to him watching the other digimon take proper shape. He was sure this was not a digimon he had ever seen before, and he had collected most of the digimon available in the card game. “Interesting” Marrow said looking over the digimon in front of him now, it was a curious thing to see, especially the clothing it had on, eccentric almost.

Impmon nodded “Everything is ok” he finally said and Marrow looked over “Oh that.” He said and he chuckled a little bit “Well we had a bit of an incident” He said and pulled out his digivice “Let’s just say we didn’t get off on the right foot” He shrugged a bit “He tried to Bada Boom me a few times.” He said and Impmon looked down, embarrassed he had brought it up, but more embarrassed he had done something that stupid. “Don’t worry about it” Marrow told Impmon “No harm no foul” He said, ignoring the fact his skin still stung from the heat from the burnt branch.

“So, what do you know about this place?” He asked to Addo, he did kind of needed more intel then he had currently he wondered what he had fallen into. “By the way it really is nice to meet you, still a little thrown off from waking up here.” Marrow said to explain away why he had been a little off, he still needed to get his head wrapped around this out of this world situation.

"Partners will be... Well, partners" Addo smiled upon hearing all about the falling out. "Not too long ago Mikey tried telling me that This was a crest that would turn him into a super-digimon" he laughed as he held up a silver pendant in the shape of a crescent moon hugging a red sun.

"Don't rub it in" Mikey muttered grudgingly. He gave Addo a casual shove.

"As for this place, well, I've figured out that it's called 'Native Forest' and that it's pretty freakin big" Addo continued. "There's a tribe of usagikimon, like Mikey, up in one of the northern rivers that run down into the ocean to the south."

"If ya go there, just don't bring me up" Mikey added.

"Yeah... I don't think they're sore about it anymore, but we had a bit of an ordeal there a few weeks back" Addo explained. "Also, be careful about heading too far east too... You might not notice it right away, but the forest starts to lead into some kind of swampy marshland. We had a run-in with a punch of Goo-slinging slug things, and it wasn't easy to remove the stains..." Addo shot Mikey a slight glare, and Mikey responded with an innocent laugh and and a smile that didn't quite hide a guilty expression.

"I suppose, as a tamer you have one of these" Addo held out his digivice. It was very simplistic, being a basic rectangle in design with a small screen and a column of three buttons. "I already know that not all tamers have the same kind, but I'm afraid that's all I know. I've gotten different things to happen on here now and then when I push buttons, but as for working it, I'm still figuring that out."

"That's my bad" Mikey tilted his head to the side and scratched the back of his neck. "I was told most digimon partners can tell their tamers about stuff like that easy... But my birth was kinda... Well, it wasn't what it was supposed'ta be like, and I dunno a lot of stuff I probly should."

"It's all good though" Addo said reassuringly. "We're all learning here, and I'm sure I'll get the hang of this thing eventually, so no worries."

Addo turned his attention back to Marrow and Impmon. "So you said your partner's called an impmon? I've only run into one other tamer before, so please excuse my curiosity" Addo smiled genuinely. "But how did you end up here? I actually don't remember anything about how I got here, and the other tamer I met claimed to get stuck here while in a dream!"

Marrow listened and Impmon moved back to the tree, he had a clear line of sight between him and the new arrivals. He didn’t know how to be a partner so he was worrying, he didn’t like not being sure of himself and knowing exactly what to do when he had a job to complete. Marrow noticed that Impmon was nervous, though Impmon looked relaxed and almost cocky but he figured that was just his natural look. “Yeah, I think your talking about Numamon, throwing handfuls of poo” He said and he chuckled “So I hope you got it all off you” He said and he looked to Mikey and frowned “I know most digimon stuff but I have never heard of your kind of digimon.” He explained “And I will be weary of going to far north and to far east.” He said nodding and he knew he would have to ask about those guilty looks later, seemed a story was involved somewhere in there.

“Oh you mean like a Crest” He said motioning toward the necklace “Well all I know of Crests are they are typically things like Friendship and Love, and stuff like that, don’t know what a moon has to do with any of that.” He said smiling, Impmon watched them and he looked back to Addo “I know what is it called, Impmon confirmed my thought” He said “It seemed pretty big on the map” He said and he pulled out his Digivice “I call mine a Mark VII” He told him and he showed him the device, it was black and silver, with the purple buttons and design work near the buttons.

Impmon moved toward him “Put that away, what if it got lost” He said to him trying to be a good partner and Marrow just laughed a little “Calm down little man, not going to lose it anytime soon” He said and he slide it back inside his pocket. “And I don’t know if that whole birth thing is right or not, too new.” He said and Impmon shrugged “I just remember being born with the knowledge that I had to find my Tamer, I know a few things but not a whole lot about a whole lot.” He explained and looked to the two of them “And it’s fine man, I am pretty cool after all” Impmon said, again cocky and obviously loving the attention. Marrow realized both of them had issues with Pride and that may come back to bite them in the ass later.

“Well I was playing the Digimon Card Game with a friend of mine, but after I won I got called a cheater, so I began to check my combo.” He started “Except my Impmon card changed into this weird blue card, when I slide it through my Card Reader the reader changed into my digivice” He told him and then looked between the digimon wondering again if he had slide another card would he have a different partner. “When I got home I went to find out if I could find anything like it online” He continued to explain not sure about how well he was telling this story. “So I found the digivices from the anime and the games but nothing that fit mine”

“Then I brought it out and the thing began to glow, after that a little pop up, well popped up on the screen and showed a map.” He said and tried to draw the map in the air “It had three places light up, Flare Crater, Endless Plains, and here at the Native Forest, I clicked on Native Forest and woke up here.” He finished then added “Thought I felt like I had fell through space spinning out of control, I still feel a little dizzy.” He added chucking a little bit as Impmon rolled his eyes “Ok marrow, enough” he said worried he would say to much and make a fool of himself. “Basically he doesn’t know I would be surprised if there was any reason to it” Impmon joked about a bit.

Marrow shrugged “So how did you get here then?” He asked “If you want I mean.”

"Actually, I don't know how I got here" Addo admitted. "The last thing I remember was partying with some friends, and then waking up in this forest. At first I was wondering if I'd gotten drunk, or if I was tripping or something, but I quickly came to terms with the reality of the situation. I ran into this guy (Addo points at Mikey) a few minutes after getting here, and we've been together since."

"Yup yup!" Mikey reached over and gave Addo a noogie, that Addo forced his way out of a moment later replying with a frown.

"It's cool that you know about these guys, digimon, I mean. I played a game online where I took care of a monster pet, but it wasn't like the things I've met here. As far as I know there's never been a card-game either" Addo said with a laugh. "I guess you were pretty lucky, wherever you got sucked in from, getting to know a bit about this place before hand!"

"Sept' me!" Mikey's face lit up into a proud smile. "He said he didn't know nothin 'bout me! That’s because I’m the coolest digimon ever" he laughed jokingly.

"Oh that's true, but this is a unique place all on its own. I guess its not surprising that someone might run into new stuff here" Addo reasoned. "So, now that you're here, d'ya got any plans? I heard a rumor a while back that there's this amazing place where there's a pond or something that magically generates water to feed one of the streams here in the forest. They say you can see all kinds of weird stuff if you look in its waters! That's part of why I've been traveling along the streams here; I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of it!"

Marrow listened to Addo explain that he did not remember when he got here. He figured that might be some sort of safety device, something to help keep the people brought him from suffering traumatic shock or something. Which given how they seemed to all arrive here might be a good thing. He watched as Addo pointed to Mikey and explained how the two had met up and he nodded “Seems not dissimilar” He replied meaning dissimilar to the meeting of Impmon and himself. Thought he doubted they had attacked one another, though he felt that might have been needed to establish a bond between them as prideful as they where. He knew he did not want a weak partner, and he figured Impmon did not want a weak tamer, so this was something both required to establish the right bond.

“I guess it is, guess I don’t need as much of a wiki feature on this digivice to tell me about who they are and so on.” He said and looked to Mikey again “It seems to me, you might be a data anomaly or just a Digimon that was created after the establishment of the information I had.” He explained, smirking as he knew this would bug the digimon, and he did not know why but he liked that idea as much as he did. Impmon had stood silent for now and he chuckled as Marrow’s comment “Maybe, I’ve never heard of his type, but I don’t know all of them just a few locals, like Floramon, Mushroomon and stuff like that.” He explained and he pointed off down the trail “Oh that reminds me!” He said suddenly “I saw a fight, well maybe battle is the right word, It was an Apemon against a Gorillamon they where blasting holes all over the place, so I got out of there.”

Marrow nodded, that was an interesting idea, but he would want to see that scene later, to see an actual battle scene and find out what happened and who won. But when Addo mentioned that he had heard a rumor. He recalled that Addo has said he had been here weeks. “So what have you noticed in those weeks, aside from the rumor I mean?” He asked hoping he was being clear about that. “And what kind of weird stuff, did you head anything specific about it?” He asked though he was worried about what he might find should he look for the water later one.

Impmon had not heard of that before so he was also curious about this spring. “Well we should get off the trail or something, who knows what might come barreling down the path.” He said and moved to the side of the trail and Marrow followed to stand beside him and he looked over to the two others. “So did you see anything, find it I mean?” He asked and he looked around to be sure nothing was ambushing them anytime soon.

Mikey was indeed a bit perturbed by the comment, though he tried not to show it. He liked feeling special, and even though he realized that it was unrealistic to be considered 'special' all the time, and possibly not beneficial, he still liked to try.

"Ya don't need ta worry. You got me here" Mikey said pointing to his ears. "If somethin comes runnin' I'll hear it way before it gets here!"

(((Because I just told you about Mikey's hearing, you can RP him picking up on a sound during your posts if you want, since you're the thread leader you can use that if you want a way to introduce an enemy or some other type of occurrence into the RP ^_^)))

"Yeah, no need to worry when we've got Mikey here, unless whatever it is happens to float or something" Addo added. "As for the rumor, I told you everything I knew. I'm really curious myself, so that's why i'm looking for it. I haven't found it yet, and don't know anything about its location other than that it has a stream running from it." Addo gave a disappointed shrug.

Marrow was just a very cautious by nature it seemed he was worried about this fight that happened that Impmon had seen. An Apemon fighting Gorillamon was a bad idea, Apemons where by nature creatures that ran in tribes so a one on one fight against a Gorillamon was a bad idea. He looked to the others finally registering what was being said and so on. He shook his head, embarrassed he had drifted like that. Impmon on the other hand had not seemed to slip off like that, instead he was very attentive and he looked to Marrow. “He said that if anything was to come toward us he would hear it.” Gesturing to Mikey. Marrow nodded “yeah of course, makes sense.” He said and his eyes moved to the direction of Impmon’s arrival several minutes ago.

When he noticed Addo was back to mentioning the rumor he listened up, but found it disappointing that he had no more info on it. He was curious as to what it could be and more so if it was something they could use to return home. He had left a life back there, and he was sure everyone else had as well. Though another aspect of this world seemed to be in effect he felt disconnected from that world, that life as if it where happening to someone else and he was remembering it like one would a movie that had seen to many times.

“Alright, well I suppose if I hear more intelligence on it I could pass it along and see what it is really all about.” He said with a slight shrug. He was never good at this, his old friends he knew and he could relax and be informal with but this was no such time for that. “So, question from the newbie” He said “Eating, Sleeping, Etc. do we do that here?” He asked not sure if this was exactly like the show and so on. After all this was all data, how could they eat any of it? Impmon shrugged “Well Digimon don’t really eat like humans do, we have the predator and prey nature, but it just causes battles not really eating of one another, unless you count something like Data Assimilation as a form of it.” He added, meaning when a digimon defeated another and loaded their data assimilating it into their own code.

What Mikey would hear, in the distance but moving in their direction for sure was cracking of tree branches and heavy foot falls, and every now and then what would sound like a muffled explosion. The foilage around them was good for absorbing sound which made sense, but it also left them with limited knowledge of the approach of other threats, or allies. He frowned wishing his Digivice had a radar or something, he wondered if he could find a feature to purchase apps or the like for their Digivice over time. He looked to Impmon who didn’t hear the sound yet but he felt the heavy foot falls, but could not tell where. “I feel something.” He looked to the ground and if they watched very closely the small pebbles, that where barely bigger then grains of sand where bouncing off the ground ever so slightly before falling back to the ground again which made him frown “Damn”

(Think I'll jump in. I may not be on for a day or 2, however, due to Irene)

The footsteps didn't belong to anything hostile, though what emerged was completely...bewildering. It was certainly an anthropomorphic canine, but it was not only clothed...it also had two swords. Its hazel eyes certainly seemed uneasy, but they didn't appear to have a lust to kill.

The canine wasn't alone, as soon four digimon came to its side. One could easily identify the Agumon, and the angelic Veemon was certainly something to behold, but the green dragon and black snake were probably not recognizable. All five stayed where they were, looking the two tamers and their partners over, before the canine ultimately spoke.

"Landing on this is certainly something else. I remember when I wound up here, I was constantly looking for a way back home. So far, however, in the time I've been here, I've found no exit. You're stuck here for the time being."

"Oh! Are you some kind of Kikourimon?" Addo asked the canine, having had seen something similar as a partner digimon of another acquaintance, though the one he had seen before had light blue fur and a rather pompous attitude. "And don't worry about me. I don't really have a reason to search for a way back. I like it here more, and I don't wanna leave if I don't have to."

"Are ya sure you should be talkin to them?" Mikey whispered to Addo, seeming to bear some type of aversion to the canine, which may be completely natural for something that is indeed part rabbit. Mikey moved to step a bit behind Addo, who understood why. He had acted that way when they encountered the Kikourimon before.

"They seem alright. I think we'll be fine just talking to them" Addo reassured, but still let Mikey keep his position behind him. Addo smiled and looked the strange group over. "My name's Addo, and this is my partner Mikey. Its, uh, nice to meet you all." Although Addo was looking at the whole group, he seemed to only be addressing the canine, as the canine was the only one so far that he could be sure was able to talk.

Marrow looked to Impmon to see if he could feel what was coming. As it turned out Impmon had been wrong, or seemed to be when he noticed the arrival of five figures from the forest. Impmon jumped back as he had not been looking that way so when he turned and saw what Marrow had he had been startled. He frowned at himself because again he had proven himself a coward and a weakling and it bothered him. The look of the Canine was off for him while he wore a scarf like thing, this digimon wore clothing and carried weapons. He noticed two of the digimon and Marrow nodded when he met Impmon’s gaze.

“An Agumon, and some version of Veemon?” He asked watching the Angelic one “Someone glitch a aero wing card?” He asked again off the tv show where Guilmon had been given the wings for a few moments during a fight. “My name is Marrow and this is Impmon” He introduced himself, standing there watching them. The green dragon and black snake where in fact something he had never seen before. “What an interesting group you have” Impmon added “I’ve never seen anything like you guys” He said to the three, minus the Veemon and Agumon. Marrow rolled his eyes slightly at the rude comment, never be rude when someone could attack you for it. “Pardon him, he is new” He said and swatted the back of his head, though only catching the tips of his ears and not very hard at that.

He looked from ancient to Addo as he meantioned another digimon he had never heard of before. “Kikourimon?” He asked “Ok did I miss a few chapters in my complete guide to Digimon?” He asked now getting annoyed with all these new digimon, as he knew nothing of them and he felt a little stupid for it.

He took a breath and sighed “Guess all that knowledge is about as useful as it was back home.” He said and he did not fail to notice Ancient’s comment about being stuck here. “So how did it happen, what was the point of it?” He asked Ancient and Impmon watched Addo and Mikey. Impmon wondered about his behavior, after all he seemed to be afraid of these new arrivals. He didn’t know if he knew something he did not or he was just scared of them out of them being new and different.

“They don’t seem so bad” Impmon said, though he had originally wanted to say don’t seem so tough. But he got the feeling Marrow would smack him fully this time, or get down another stick and hit him with it. “Marrow.” Impmon said and Marrow replied with a nod “They don’t, so lets give them the benefit of the doubt” He said to Abbo’s partner and to himself. “It’s nice to meet you, can we have your names?” He didn’t want to seem so pushy but he was curious about them.

With complete sincerity, lacking any sarcasm what-so-ever, upon hearing the words, Addo turned to Marrow to ask "Where did you get a complete guide to Digimon? Forget about missing a few chapters, I wish I had that guide at all! Do you have an extra? Or could I glance at yours?"

"They're not so bad, no." There was a faint chuckle, airy, a bit high pitched-- probably female. "Just bad enough."

She slipped down from the trees in a sinuous looping motion, a small, pale white body flecked with gold looping easily through the air. She came to a stop hovering just about eye level with the tamers, and cast its gaze between them all.

She was, perhaps a bit oddly, an ermine, and she was, very obviously, not really meant to inhabit the forest. She was painfully visible now that she had moved down out of the thick of the trees, but she was also obviously unconcerned. Instead, she hung in the air, gaze darting between each of the newcomers in turn-- she didn't really bother looking to Ancient and his group. There was already a familiarity there.

"I thought I heard some voices," she said. "I only just dropped in... you guys are new here, then?" She smiled slightly, lifted her head. "Still having fun?"

She drifted through the air, her legs tucked tightly against her belly, her entire body going into the motion, almost swimming. She didn't get too close, though; there was a respect for personal space, too.

"Erm, Nihimon," she said.
