Mirage Island is a strange place even by Digital World standards. It is rarely visited by outsiders, and those who inhabit it rarely find a means of leaving. The world beyond believes it to be a myth, and tells stories of a land ever over the horizon, seen but unreachable, brilliant myth.

Not so myth for those who have been summoned to it, without clear purpose but with very clear threats. For Mirage Island is not just another continent in the Digital World, but the convergence of destiny and of defiance, and more than that, the key to the Digital World's annihilation.

A sprawling metropolis located in a pocket dimension accessible from the Void, Adelphia City occasionally crosses over to Mirage Island for approximately two weeks. These two weeks are treated as a massive celebration -- and tourist trap -- by Adelphia City natives, who set up the Dance of Bleeding Swords, a combat festival that lasts nearly the length of Adelphia City's presence.
