ZAAAAAAAAP!!! CRAAAAAAAAASSSHHHH!!!
"Kaidis... Kaidis?!!"
A 12 year Digimon Tamer named Daniel Cole looked on from behind some wooden crates as his Digimon partner Kaidis the Cyberdramon fought a giant Demon-like Digimon. The monster had fired a powerful attack at Kaidis who had been thrown straight through one of the castle walls on impact. Daniel gritted his teeth and clenched his fists as he wondered what had become of his partner. When the dust had settled Kaidis stood there as bold as ever and snarled at their enemy who only chuckled.
"So... Still think you and your 'pet' stand a chance?"
"Grrrr...! I'm nobodys pet! DESOLATION CLAW!!!"
Kaidis lunged once again but the Evil Digimon fired beam of evil energy so bright that Daniel had to shield his eyes. Only when the light faded he didn't like what he saw.
"Kaidis...? No... NOOO!!"
The Cyberdramon was now in the demons grasp and was deleting rapidly. Daniel looked on in horror for a while longer before having to dive out of the way as the demon smashed the crates that he had been stood behind. As black orb-like objects fell from the crates the Demon took one of them and growled down at Daniel who could no longer speak for such overwhelming fear.
"Hehe... Who should never have under-estimated me boy! All who do must pay the price! For all eternity! HAHAHAHA!!!"
The demon grabbed Daniel and held the orb to his throat. Just then, what was left of Kaidis struggled free from the demons grasp and threw himself around his tamer.
The viral energy contained within the orb slipped through the dying Digimon and into Daniel. There was a terrible scream as an almighty pain shot through Daniel and his Digimon was finally no more than just data particles and he blacked out. That was all Daniel Cole remembered about that terrible day...

"Huh...? Ahh! Not that... Dream again..."
It had been 4 years since the incident and he couldn't even remember the name of the Demon Digimon but the damage had been done. Daniel had indeed paid the price. He was no longer Human... Though he could become Human again from time to time most of the time he was in viral form. He felt such a monster that for all that time he never once returned to his home in the real world. Daniel Cole had been reported missing but had since been presumed dead. As far as he was concerned though Daniel was dead. He now went by the alias of 'Bosch' so that no other tamer that crossed his path would recognise the name. Not that he met many others since he was so determined to hide his hideous form. He remembered the demons words which had haunted him ever since that day
"Hehehe... You should neer haveunderestimated me boy!"
Bosch lay in a forest clearing which was usually quiet. Today was different though. He had found a Digimon egg which had come floating down a river and had been drawn to it. He had since rescued it and was clutching it tightly in his glowing orange claws. He sat up and held it tightly to his chest for a moment until he could have sworn that it had moved.
"Huh-?What?"
He immedietly dropped the egg as it began to crack and hatch. A familiar looking face peered from the egg for a moment before an unseen force caused it to evolve straight to the rookie level. Bosch fell back and tried to cry out in surprise but nothing came out. He was sure he recognised this Digimon but something was different about it. It looked like Monodramon which was the rookie form of his Cyberdramon but it was black with red horns and golden claws. There was only one way to be certain.
"Is that you...? Kaidis...?"
The BlackMonodramon looked at him awkwardly for a moment before bursting into tears and throwing hisarms around Bosch.
"IT IS YOU, I KNEW IT!! I knew the virus would have changed you too but I didn't think I would ever see you again! I don't care what you look like! I just wanted to see you!"
"Kaidis..."
Bosch could only look back at what had become of his Digimon partner. It had been four years and neither had seen each other since the infection. But now here they were as a gentle wind blew through the clearing both could feel that this would be a new beginning...

The happy reunion was soon cut short when a grumpy looking Tapirmon slowly emerged from a nearby hole. It was clear that it was annoyed at being woken up. Just as it was about to complain it caught site of Bosch in his Viral form
"Hmph! How many times do I have to tell you good for nothing 'Tamers' to let me-WHOAH!! What the heack is that?! You're no ordinary Tamer. You're some kinda FREAK!"
Bosch looked away and tried to ignore it. This was why he tried not to show himself. Kaidis however was very angry and stormed towards Tapirmon.
"Hey! You leave my Tamer outta this! We've only just found each other again so give us a break or shove off!"
"Pah! I didn't ask for any cheek. Come to think of it I could use some extra data... Come on! Let's fight! Let's see how well a Digimon can fight when their Tamer is a monster!"
"GRR! You expect me to go east after saying that!"
As the two Digimon bickered Bosch glanced over and saw something shiny within thhe shell of Kaidis egg. He made a grab for it and came across what looked like a Digivice. It was certainly different from the one he had all those years ago but nevertheless he slowly rose to his feet and faced the Digimon.
"Just take him on Kaidis! If he's so desperate for a fight then you better give him one!"

Tapirmon was the first to make his move. It dashed foreward but Kaidis got in there first and struck it with his Black knuckle (-25) Tapirmon took the hit and was pushed backwards. It then narrowed it's eyes and retaliated with deleting Virus. With Kaidis now being the virus type this attack seemed to hurt more than usual (30). Bosch continues tro watch from a safe distance. He would love to have cheered Kaidis on like he used to but there was too much on his mind. He stared at his claws as he wondered to himself how a Tamer could possibly help when he wasn't even Human anymore... Kaidis was already starting to wear out. He glanced over towards Bosch with a slightly worried expression.
"He's awfully strong for a Rookie... What's wrong with me? I can't even Digivolve!"
Tapirmon saw his chance and ran in for the kill. Bosch saw this and yelled.
"Kaidis look out!!
Though Bosch himself had no idea why he had such a thing on him but he was just glad he did. Tapirmon strikes again.
"Deleting Virus!"
"Critical crunch!!"
Kaidis took the hit (-30) and bared his teeth and used Critical crunch. He clamped his jaws around Tapirmon who desperatly tried to shake him off (-30). The two square up once again while Bosch continues to watch from a distance...

Kaidis watched the Tapirmon for a little longer before running in for another Black knuckle (-25). Tapirmon was about to retaliate when dark energy began to swirl around Kaidis who closed his eyes and focused. Bosch looked puzzled for he had never seen this when Kaidis was a regular Monodramon but then again he never saw much of Monodramon because he was usually Cyberdramon. Tapirmon dismissed this and charged forward.
"Deleti-!"
"DARK HELIX!!"
Kaidis opened his eyes as the energy which surrounded him shot foreward and engulfed Tapirmon. There was a cry from Tapirmon which was suddenly cut off. As the Darkness subsided all that was left of Tapirmon was floating particles of data. Kaidis focused once agian and the data was absorbed into him. As he did so Bosch slowly approached where the Tapirmon once stood and picked up 30 bits. He then turned back to Kaidis.
"Well... It looks like we're gonna have to start from scratch. But if we got so far once then we can do it again right?"
"Of course! We'll find a way round it Daniel."
Bosch sighed.
"Yeah... Could I just ask you a favour though. If we meet any other tamers. Which I hope we don't but that's not the point. Could you call me Bosch? It's just in case somebody recognises the name and I couldn't possibly face any family or friends. Not looking like this..."
Kaidis gave Bosch a sympathetic look before smiling reassuringly.
"Will do! So what are we gonna now, Bosch?!"
"Well... Now that I 've found you my time for hiding is over. I can now face this world once again. Come... Let's find a good training spot. One day the time will come for revenge and we both need to be stronger than we've ever been. Let's go..."
Kaidis looked a little unsure at first. Though he could remember bits and pieces of that time he to had fogotten the great demon Digimons name. He then nodded his head slightly as they both left the clearing and wandered deep into the forest...

Kaidis face suddenly lit up and he rushed to catch up with his Tamer.
"Hey! Couldn't you at least call home. You know just to let them know you're okay or something?"
No can do. Don't forget what I just told you now."
"But don't you think this is real unfair on everybody... Maybe they'll-."
"LOOK! We've already discussed this. I am NOT going home! End of story!"
"Awww..."
Kaidis stared down at the ground and carried on walking. Bosch took a few more steps before frowning and raising an arm in front of Kaidis so that he would stop.
"You here that...? You better take these so we can investigate. Come on."
Bosch tossed a couple of HP chips to Kaidis who caught and ate them. As they got closer they could see a Wormon bullying a group of Floramon. The Floramon
obviously didn't want to know and were trying to walk away but Wormmon wouldn't let them go. as Bosh and Kaidis got closer Wormmn glanced behind him. More than enough distraction for the Floramon to escape.
"Drat they got away! Oh well... You look much stronger anyway. Your data will be better than those twerps. Bring it on!"

"Silk thread!"
"Critical crunch!"
The two attacks hit home. As Kaidis struggled free from the threads he thrashed around with Wormmon in his mouth. Kaidis then threw him across the battlefield and the Wormmon hit a far wall. Wormon jumped to his feet and curled into a ball for random roll which Kaidis blocks with arm defence. Wormmon is knocked back but is coming for him again. Kaidis then lunges for a second critical crunch. Wormmon is tossed aside and he jumps to his feet once again. Another Silk thread is fired but Kaidis uses Grand wall which prevents any damage. He then slashes at Wormmon with his Black knuckle attack. Bosch continues to watch the fight from a distance but he can see that Kaidis is starting to wear out. Kaidis however remains strong and goes in again. he is knocked back with random roll which deals more damage. Kaidis is bowled over but he jumps to his feet once again before focusing once agan. Wormmon is rolloing in his direction once again but just as he's about to hit, Kaidis uses Dark helix. The fight could go either way from here but which way...

Bosch gritted his teeth and looked on. Could Kaidis possibly win? Perhaps it was about time that he intervened... He stepped from the shadows and slowly approached. The Wormmon saw him and sighed.
"Hmmm... Another one of those... If I were much stronger I would put you out of your misery myself. Ah well... This data should be a decent contribution. RANDOM ROLL!"
"Kaidis he's coming look out!"
Kaidis leapt in front of Bosch and used Arm guard to knock Wormmon back. As Wormmon was sent rolling backwards Kaidis lunged and used Black knuckle once again. He only got the chance to do this once before Wormmon retaliated and ran him over. A frustrated Kaids finally bit him with Critical crunch which finished him off. Kaidis took the data and a couple of things that Wormmon had been carrying and returned to Bosch.
"Ummm... Here. He dropped these..."
Kaidis handed over 10 Bits and a healing chip1. Bosch however had something else on his mind.
"Another one of those... Does this mean that there's more than me out there who ended up like this? Anyway you look exhausted. Take this and I'll see if I can find some more on the way."
"Okay. Say... He sure put up a fight for a Rookie. So did the one before him. Tapirmon that is. I'm sure the Rookies around here were a lot weaker than that. Maybe there's a lot more data round here now or something. Let's get going before Wormmons friends show up!"
They continue their journey to Flare crater...

Bosch found some more healing chips and fed them to Kaidis as they continued along the path. They had reached the edge of the forest when Bosch suddenly stopped and ducked behind some trees. He beckoned for Kaidis to join him and he did so rather curiously. Before Kaidis could say anything though Bosch answered the question that he was expecting his partner to as.
"Tamers... Remember what I told you about them... we'll wait here until they leave..."
"Oh... Okay
Kaidis whispered back as they watched two boys and a girl talking, laughing and carrying on. Not too far away from them was a BlackAgumon, an Elecmon, and a Kudamon who had stopped to admire the scenery. The first of the boys had longish hair tied back in a ponytail and was staring at a map while the second who had spikey dark hair and a pair of neon yellow goggles on his forehead and was leaning against a wall was the first to speak.
"Are you sure we've come to the right place. This doesn't look like Flare crater to me. For starters it's not even hot!"
The boy with the map only shrugged his shoulders and continued to study. The girl on tye other hand shook her head, scanned the area for a moment and sighed.
"Native forest... We don't want to be staying here too much longer. For one it's full of bugs and creepy crawlys. And for a second it's getting dark and what about that monster that's been spotted here on a night? That'll be coming out soon and I don't want to be standing in it's path when it does."
The goggle boy scoffed.
"Hey Lighten up already! We've got Digimon to protect us remember? No evil Digimon around here's gonna hurt us when we've got them!"
"But... when I came here once with just Fox and I saw it! Even I could tell that this was no digimon!"
Bosch meanwhile frowned and turned to Kaidis.
"Monster...? Not a Digimon...? Does this mean that I Haven't been careful enough?"
"Beats me. How do you know they're even on about you?"
Just then guy with the map lowered the map and smiled sheepishly.
"Ummm sorry guys... I've uh... Brought the wrong map..."
His friends jaws dropped in disbelief and they were about to make a scene when the boy who had just spoken stood on Bosch's carelessly placed claws and without thinking the moment the boy moved his foot Bosch leapt into the air and yelled.
"YEEOOOOOOW!!!"
Kaidis gritted his teeth as the girl screamed and the two boys stared with identical expressions. This had also atracted the attention of their Digimon...

The three Tamers tried to speak but no sound came out. They couldn't even run for they were frozen with fear. Even the goggle boy who seemed fairly hard at first. This hurt Bosch but all he could do was try and reason with them.
"Hey... Come on... I'm not gonna hurt any of you..."
"Of course you're not! I'm here and I'm gonna make sure you don't!"
Bosch whirled round and saw the Black Agumon lunging for him but Kaidis stepped between them and blocked him. BlackAgumon narrowed his eyes and just as it looked like things were going to get ugly betwee them the goggle boy finally spoke.
"That's enough! You heard it Spike."
Spike the BlackAgumon stepped back with a face like thunder. The Kudamon was next to approach only he wasn't so aggressive. He sniffed at Bosch and Kaidis for a while before glancing nervously towards the girl.
"It's him alright... But what about the Digimon. Is it a Monodramon.
The girl took out a lilac D-ARC and was about to check the data but the ponytailed boy had already beaten her to it.
"BlackMonodramon... Rookie level, Virus type. Your not that wrong though. It seems that this 'was' a Monodramon but it was infected by some sort of Virus and this..."
The boy slowly approached Bosch. The Elecmon followed and though it didn't seem so sure it seemed pretty adamant to stick with its Tamer. The boy looked Bosch up and down with a pitying expression and finished his sentence.
"Was a Human Tamer!"
His friends gasped but Bosch only stared at the ground. His secret was out but the goggle boy was still unsure.
"You gotta be kidding me! How do Tamers just become monsters like this!"
Bosch kept his head down and mumbled. It was clear that the ponytailed boy knew an awful lot about the Digital world.
"It's a long story. and one I would rather not go into..."
The girl was still unsure what to think but the ponytailed boy only smiled and held out his hand to Bosch.
"Hi... I'm Akio. And this is my partner Buzz the Elecmon."
The Elecmon only bowed his head slightly and remained silent. Bosch however hesitated for a moment but eventually decided to take the hand regardless. There was no sense in hiding anything now plus it seemed that he could at least trust this Akio. Though he still kept his head down the fact that he was starting to trust them meant the world to Kaidis who could only look on awestruck...

As Kaidis watched he could suddenly feel something watching them. As he glanced round he could see an entire army of Wormmon heading straight for them. He frowned and glanced over towards Bosch.
"Umm, Bosch... We got company. And they don't look too friendly either..."
Before anyone could act they were all completly surounded. Another Larvae-like Digimon stepped foreward.
"I am Kunemon. Leader of the Native forest worms! You will pay for the death of our comrade! We're gonna take you on right now! I'd love to see you beat all of us!"
Kunemon and the group of Wormmon stepped foreward kaidis took a fighting stance. Akio stepped back as the goggle boy turned to Bosch.
"Just out of curiosity... Did you really kill a Wormmon?"
"Uhhh..."
"Not to worry. We'll deal with the other Wormmon. You concentrate on the leader."
Bosch nodded as he and Kaidis turned to face Kunemon. The Wormmon all lunged but Spike, Buzz and Fox jumped into the fray to keep them distracted. Kunemon took his best fighting stance and sneered.
"Hmph! I don't need that lot. I'm more than enough to take the likes of you out. let's go FREAK!"
"You know... Even after four years it still hurts when they say that..."
Kunemon fired his speeding thread at Bosch but Kaidis jumped in the way and took the damage. An angered Kaidis then caught Kunemon in a Critical crunch and tossed him to one side. Bosch could see that Kunemon was quite tough for a rookie and was relieved that they didn't have to face all those Wormmon as well. He had already used 3 Healing chips after their encounter with the first Wormmon so he had five left which he quickly made sure he had on him so he could use them if neccassary. As Kunemon lunged a second time, Kaids knocked him away with Black knuckle which caused him to flinch. Kaidis then tried to grab him but Kunemons speeding thread knocked him into a far wall. As the Digimon of the other three tamers struggled to tackle the Wormmon the Girl glanced over towards Bosch's battle with a look of genuine concern.
"It's not looking too good is it...? Maybe we should help him."
Akio shook his head.
"Let's just leave him to it... I'm sure it'll all work out in the end."
As the fight raged on Kaidis jumped to his feet and used critical crunch. Bosch was unsure as to how much more Kaidis would be able to take so he tossed Kaidis a couple of healing chips. Kaidis caught them and wolfed them down because Kunemon was coming again. This time he attempted to use Poison winder which Kaids blocked with Grand wall. Kaidis narrowed his eyes at Kunemon. It was clear that this was going to get ugly...

Kaidis was struggling to stand. Kunemon was far to tough for a regular Rookie and wasn't sure if he was going to make it. Bosch slowly approached and crouched down beside his partner.
"Kaidis... You can't give up just yet. Remember back when we were just an ordinary tamer and his Digimon. You never let me down once. I however was overconfident and paid the price. It's all my fault you got hurt back then. But it's not too late to put things right, for you at least. So what do you say... I'll give you a couple more of these and you win this one not just for me... But for yourself, okay?"
Kaidis frowned but realised that Bosch was right. Bosch handed him a couple more healing chips which he ate before finally replying."
"Okay... Let's go."
Buzz the Elecmon waved them over.
"Hey! I made sure he didn't try anything while you two were busy!"
"Thanks. I think he's ready now anyway. LOOK OUT!!"
Buzz whirled round just in time to avoid being caught in the web of another Wormmon. Kaidis growled and lunged for Kunemon once again. Kunemon began to use speeding thread but this time Kaidis was ready. Before the thread had time to hit him he grabbed Kunemon in his mouth and thrashed before throwing him against a tree. Kunemons second attempt hit home but Kaidis wasn't going down so easy next time. He knocked Kunemon away with his Black knuckle and powered up for Dark Helix. an angry Kunemon fired his Poison winder as Kaidis lunged with one last Critical crunch. Both Digimon were incredibly exhausted so Bosch wasn't sure if he could bare to watch but did so anyway. They both cried out fell into some tall grass. there was a shower of Data but who's data.
"Kaidis...?"
As the tension rose The other Tamers had also stopped what they were doing in order to find out what had happened. Just then a smug looking face peered from the top of the grass. It was black and dragon-like. Kaidis had won but only just...

Kaidis staggered towards Bosch and collapsed. Bosch quickly caught his partner who glanced back up towards him.
"Well... He was surpisingly strong but I guess we did it..."
"Yeah... I'm just relieved that you're okay. You really scared me back there."
Kaidis only grinned and picked himself up as Bosch faced the other Tamers again. There was a breif pause before Akio rolled his eyes and spoke.
"Well...? Are you two gonna introduce yourselves or what?"
There was a breif pause before the girl finally stepped foreward and spoke.
"Um... Hello there... My name is... Sakura. And this is Fox. He's a Kudamon..."
"Howdy!"
Fox looked up with big bright eyes. It was clear that he was no longer afraid of them but Sakura was still unsure. The goggle boy seemed to be distracted by something but he finally turned round and introduced himself.
"It's Katsu... My BlackAgumon is called Spike..."
Spike only gave a small wave but he too was distracted. The last of the Wormmon had been taken care of so they could finally rest. Katsu glanced over towards a small cave nearby and turned back to the others. Bosch in particular.
"Well... We can't take 'him' any further with his Digimon in that condition. Let's rest here for a while. I'm starting to recognise the area now and we're not actually that far from one of the entrance to Flare crater. Let's go."
They headed for the cave but Bosch was certain that he saw Sakura flinch at the mention of Flare crater. Maybe she was afraid...? Once inside they quickly settled down with Digimon in one corner and the humans (And Humanoid) in another...

Very soon all four Digimon were fast asleep in a heap at the opposite side of the cave to where their Tamers were resting. Katsu watched the Digimon for a moment and laughed. Bosch smiled shyly and began talking to Katsu but neither of them looked each other in the eye.
"Haha! Look at them all.You know once I'd been stuck here in the Digital world for so long I just gave up keeping track of time. It goes a lot faster here then it does in the Real world. I just eat when I'm hungry and sleep when I'm tired. That's all there is to it really...
Yeah...? My Sister Sakura and I decided to become Equinox agents so we could get some money. That's where we met Akio. But enough on us three. What about you? How long have you been like this?"
Bosch frowned.
"Four years... It was a little accident. I tried to play hero and not only did I change but so did my Digimon. He suffered because of me and now I can't even show myself to the Real world anymore..."
Sakura looked up and interrupted.
"Four whole years?! That must be over a century or two in Digital time. I'm sure one day you'll find the courage to show yourself. Just take your time. Perhaps we could help.What's your name?"
"Bosch. That's what I call myself now. I don't actually remember my name before that day..."
"Oh... That's too bad..."
Bosch turned away from Sakura and said no more. That was a big lie and he knew it. But he still didn't feel ready to fully reveal himself just yet... But regardless of this they couldn't act until the Digimon were awake...

As the Tamers were talking the Digimon were slowly starting to wake up. Buzz was the first and he gave himself a good stretch. Spike and Fox opened there eyes sleepily before slowly rising to his feet. Kaidis is the last to rise. With a yawn he glanced over towards Bosch.
"(Yawn) I sure needed that! I feel ready to take on whatever waits for us in Flare crater!"
Bosch only smiled as Katsu scanned the area. Just then Katsus his face lit up.
"And We're in luck! This very gave leads to Flare crater! Looks like a worn out Digimon isn't neccesarily bad news after all! Let's go people!"
Katsu raced ahead followed by Spike. Akio gave a sigh and followed with Buzz. Sakura however hesitated. Bosch slowly approached and was careful not to frighten her.
"You okay...?"
Sakura only laughed nervously.
"Oh yeah... Let's just get this over with hmmm...?"
Bosch bit his lip as Sakura scooped Fox and went deeper with the boys. Kaidis then tugged at Bosch's arm.
"Come on. We better get going ourselves!"
Bosch nodded and soon they were off. As they went deeper into the cave they could feel the temperature rising. Once at the other side they came through the opening to find a land full of fire. Geysers and lava...
