The most encouraging thing when choosing on a member to become moderator is their level of activity.

I'd currently like a global moderator - willing to advertise and promote the site, as well as help any new members with questions they might have.

What I am not looking for is someone who wants the position just for the "power" (it's the internet, it isn't real, psssssht :P). It's important that you're laid back and passionate about role playing and writing.

If you're interested, please post in this thread with the following information;

Prior experience is NOT necessary! Everybody's got to start somewhere, right? I'd be happy to give you a rundown, and I'm pretty sure you couldn't break things too much from the mod panel. :grin:

I will also be requiring application staff to process the new members' applications and place them in their appropriate house, but at the moment that's not necessary.

I may also seek a co-admin to help me maintain the site, and fix the code that I inevitably break. But I am just looking for a moderator at this moment in time.

How often can you be online? Five days out of seven. (The weekends my dad becomes this over obsessed computer hog 0.0!)
Why do you want this job? I love helping out and doing the best I can when I join something. As a member I hope to put forth my best efforts in helping in anyway possible! You put the effort into makeing the site; I want to be able to put in the effort to help...the site in general. *nod* :heart:

How often can you be online?
Generally, I am online at least once a day, but the length of time varies depending on what's happening. On a normal day, I'm on for about 3 - 5 hours, though it can be much longer (Me = Insomniac with a laptop!)... On Fridays, though, I can only get on for about 30 mins - 1 hour.

Why do you want this job?
In the past I have been both a moderator and an admin. I enjoy the whole aspect of being able to make the forum a fun and exciting place to be, with as little conflict as possible. In real life and online I find it rewarding to help people in any way I can, and I especially love working with people to improve their roleplaying skills, which also helps me with my own. I become very attached to places where I roleplay, and doing anything to help is a great way to give back to the community :)

How often can you be online? I'm generally online at least once most everyday. How long and what time all depends on the day of the week, though. I have my laptop with me on class on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I get online during English; but I can't take it Tuesdays and Thursdays cause I also have to work after class.
Why do you want this job? I like helping out on sites that I'm on. I've been an avid roleplayer for years now and I've seen sites go down hill that had amazing potential, but admins and mods who didn't put the effort needed into the site. I'm a big fan of joining aspiring sites that haven't quite taken off yet too5, and I know the work it takes to get that far. I'm an admin on a friend's site, a mod on another's and am currently working on getting my own forum up and running, so I have the experience as well.

Surly and I will choose both a general moderator, and a moderator for processing new members' applications after a month of the site being active. (On the 24th March.) This will give us a chance to get to know you better, see for ourselves how often you're around and how you interact with other members.

It's never too late to apply for a staff position, as there'll be even more positions as the site expands. :)

How often can you be online?
Well, I'm online every day. (Sometimes just to check on things, and sometimes just to lurk.) Some days, I'm on longer than others, but every day for sure. (That is if there isn't an emergency, or some insanely long trombone thing. =))

Why do you want this job?
I'd like to think of myself as a responsible person, and a very helpful person. If someone has a question I will go out of my way to answer it; even if it requires a dreaded google search! (Oh, yes, I'm funny too. XD)

When given a job I make sure that I follow through with what has been asked of me. (Hooray for cliches!) Also, as a random side note I have a Sidekick so when on vacation I could still check up on things. =) Yay, for modern technology.

I'd like to think of myself as an innovative sort of person, also, and I could offer advice, or html assistance, or graphic assistance for that matter. I'm a geek, yes.

As another side note I'm EST, so I could be the one on when you GMT folk are away.

In short; I'm a happy, helpful fool, who loves to volunteer and do things for nothing in return. ^^ (Well, that's true on the internet.) Oh, and I adore role playing and writing. =)
