Mercedes is everyone's best friend, people are always telling her their problems because she is a good listener. Mercedes can solve any problem life throws at her...which is why and her best friend Madeline keep the resort from falling apart, not that the other staff dont do their job. Mercedes is also the mother figure in the resort because she is the oldest. Mercedes can let the stress of co-running a five star resort and bringing up a self-destructive teenage girl get to her sometimes but at the end of the day she has always got her friends and a nice big bubble bath to help her relax from her hectic life.
history
Mercedes Elizabeth Hernandez was born and raised in San Francisco to Carlos Hernandez and his wife Elizabeth. When Mercedes was six her father died and left Elizabeth with a ton of bills and a growing girl to feed. Elizabeth had no choice but to work two jobs just to pay the mortgage, it was safe to say life was pretty bad. Over the years Elizabeth had a long line of boyfriends and Mercedes was starting to get frustrated with it because just when she would start getting close to having a father, Elizabeth would dump him and Mercedes would have to start getting to know another guy all over again so when Mercedes was old enough she packed her bags and moved away. Mercedes moved to new York to try to get into acting but after six years and only a couple of small acting parts she gave up acting and got a job at the plaza doing housekeeping. Mercedes had friends, she had a job that paid the bills, she had a nice little apartment that she loved AND she even had a guy that she REALLY liked...life was perfect. one day Mercedes was at work as usual when she got a phone call, it was her mothers lawyer saying her mother had passed away some years ago. Apparently Elizabeth had another baby, a daughter named Savannah, she was living with her stepfather but he was just sent to jail because he had been sexually abusing her since she was five and now she has not got anyone or anywhere to live and since Mercedes is her closest relative Mercedes is now her guardian. Mercedes packed up her life and moved back to San Francisco to look after Savannah but it was not easy trying to raise a very angry and disturbed 16 year old. Savannah did everything humanly possible to make Mercedes' life hell and after Savannah's fourth expulsion Mercedes had had enough so Mercedes packed up her and Savannah and Mercedes' good friend made line had gotten her a fantastic job in a brand new hotel on an island in Hawaii so now they have started life again in paradise. hi my name is Gemma. i am 26 and i have been roleplaying for 15+ years. my contact information is MSN or on here.
