THE PLOT

For more in depth plot information visit our website or our site wiki.
Warning: Contains Revelations spoilers!

Deep in the heart of NYC, among the high-end shops and ritzy museums, lies a secret hundreds of years in the making. The rich and powerful are not as they seem. In fact, they are from an ancient lineage, that of the Blue Bloods. They are vampires whose memories have been preserved for thousands of years through reincarnation, making them extremely smart, strong, and lethal. They have more power than you can imagine... but something is hunting them. The Croatans, vampires that feed on others of their kind, are moving to attack, and for now it seems Blue Bloods no longer hold rank at the top of the food chain.

The New York Blood Bank Committee, a coven of vampires disguised as the upper class, is the head of the underground vampire society in NYC. It is comprised of the Blue Bloods, the most extravagant among us: celebrities, senators, the ridiculously rich... the vampires, angels cast out of Heaven by God himself for siding with Lucifer. But when an ancient enemy returns, their reign is put in danger. The young vampires are at risk, being killed by something unknown. The Committee calls a meeting for all the fledgling vampires to tell them the truth about what has been lurking in the back of their minds.

Some already suspect, having felt the cravings for the blood that they can only find in raw meat, having seen the blue lines forming on their arms. Turn down the lights and their blue blood glows through their veins. At first some refuse to believe what they are, thinking that the Committee must be crazy. I mean come on... Where are the cameras? You can stop now! But slowly they discover that half-way to the back of their mouths they have pointed incisors that they can extend on command. And that's not all. Some can force their way into the minds of the weak and make them obey.

In addition to gaining powers, the memories of their immortal vampire minds begin to return, bringing flashbacks of other times and places, centuries older than themselves. Though this new world is exciting, but it isn't all power and fun. Something is after the Blue Bloods... and it isn't the first time. This has happened before.

Back in the times of the settlement of Plymouth, where the Blue Bloods landed via the Mayflower, the Blue Bloods were fleeing a force in Europe. When they arrived, they desperately hoped that their young ones would be safe, but what they feared most was also present in America. The Croatans, or Silver Bloods, the vampires who continued to side with Lucifer after their Fall from Grace, followed and soon began their hunt. They wiped out entire villages. They fed on other vampires, stealing their life force, draining them and absorbing their memories, their souls becoming trapped for eternity within the silver blood in the Croatans' veins.

Two years ago, the Committee finally saw the truth. The Croatans were back and gaining strength. The vampires dethroned their leader, Charles Force, for trying to pass the Croatans off as myth for centuries. Instead, the Blue Bloods turned to Lawrence Van Alen, who swore to fight their enemy vigilantly until they were safe again. Unfortunately, last year, Lawrence was slaughtered along with the rest of the High Committee. Wardens, Elders, anyone who could have helped the Blue Bloods to victory have been killed.

What's more, Lucifer himself, the leader of the Silver Bloods, has returned and broken his brother Leviathan from his Blue Blood prison. Together, the siblings have vowed to rid the world of Blue Bloods and take revenge on the God who expelled them from heaven thousands of years ago. Will the Blue Bloods survive the inevitable war ahead of them, or will they perish? The ending to this tale has yet to be revealed.

THE RACES

More detailed explanations of every race listed below can be found in the Novel Guide.

In Blue Bloods there are two types of vampires,
those that follow a code and those that do not:
BLUE BLOODS and CROATANS.

The elite of society. All have great wealth from investing, starring in films and photo spreads, and by holding government jobs. They are vampires, but they are not without a code. They do not feed off of other vampires. They do not even feed off of humans consecutively, having to wait 48 hours between drinks, and they never drain their victims dry.

They live forever, but not always at the same time or as the same person. Their blood is thousands of years old -- spanning back to the beginning of time when as followers of Lucifer they were banished from heaven to live out their immortal lives on earth. The Blue Bloods are merely fallen angels reborn with one soul purpose: to once again be admitted into Paradise.

Unfortunately, every generation of Blue Bloods pushes the race farther from that goal. Their parties are extravagant. Many choose to flaunt their wealth and power instead of using it for good. Some have lost their way, but in the eyes of the world, they are merely average socialites. What humans would think to look right under their noses for immortal creatures.

Also known as Silver Bloods, the vampires that refuse to be tamed. They are animal-like, taking what they want when they want it. They feed off other vampires and suck their life force, devouring their souls to gain their abilities and strength. By doing so, Silver Bloods become demented. Their minds become a prison for the spirits of the Blue Bloods they consume, driving them to insanity.

They are very powerful and uninhibited. Little is known about them today, in the modern world, but when America was discovered they killed Blue Bloods in the masses. After a few decades, the deaths dwindled, and the Blue Bloods began to feel safe... at least until now. A Croatan is back, and is creating more Silver Bloods to follow him. No Blue Blood is safe from mortality anymore. Not even the wisest and most powerful among them.

In the world of Blue Bloods there are three types of humans:
RED BLOODS, FAMILIARS, and CONDUITS.

Humans who are unaware of the vampire race and live like any normal person would. Red Bloods go out clubbing and attend school. They buy from high end shops and stare up at the billboards in Times Square, not even conscious of the hidden society within their midst. Vampires surround them. The most beautiful celebrities and even senators are Blue Bloods, and most Red Bloods never even know it.

Those that give of themselves to vampires: sometimes willingly, sometimes because they are under a vampire's spell. Familiars are sources of food for vampires and, once taken, cannot be claimed by any other Blue Blood. By taking a familiar, a Blue Blood creates a bond with that person, linking the two for eternity. From the first bite on, a familiar will be inexplicably consumed by thoughts of the Blue Blood that claimed them.

Their reaction is something that resembles love, but many Blue Bloods would attest that it is more like obsession. This result helps Blue Bloods access their familiars for blood at any time. Many familiars and Blue Bloods are mistaken for couples, and some are... in the eyes of the humans, but familiars are never allowed to be life partners. Familiars can only be used once every 48 hours because blood letting exhausts the body; however, not all vampires obey this rule, and sometimes familiars are abused.

Human families that are traditionally assigned to protect vampires lines. Unfortunately, in their hubris, many Blue Blood families assume that they are too strong to need protecting. Only certain Blue Blood families still keep Conduits, who are assigned to vampires at birth.

Those who aren't connected to a family either fade out of the Conduit world or work in the Repository of History, below The Bank and Block 122, to keep the Blue Bloods' history safe from prying eyes. Conduits can also work as doctors, lawyers, accountants, or financiers, either for a specific family, or for the Blue Blood world as a whole.

Conduits are guardians and protectors, but they are also looked down upon by most Blue Bloods as nothing more than servants. However, not all Conduits are mistreated. Most assigned Conduits and Blue Bloods are best friends. Some see the injustice in the way Conduits are treated.
NOTICE! Whether you are a Conduit is something designated at birth. Either you are born into a family of Conduits or you are not: the ancient practice is passed down through tradition and taught from an early age.

SANGRE SUB-PLOTS
HERE IS A LIST OF THE SITE WIDE HAPPENINGS.

COMMITTEE DEATHS, SUB-PLOT ONE

A letter was sent out to all the NYC Blue Blood families carrying news of death and destruction. The Committee members, including Dorothea Rockefeller, Brooks Stewart, Cushing Carondolet, Nan Cutler, Dashiell Van Horn, Esme Schlumberger, Edmunch Oelrich, Eliza Dupont, and regis Lawrence Van Alen were murdered by a hoard of Croatans in Brazil. While the red blood papers may claim that they died en route in a horrific plane crash, this is nothing more than a cover-up, orchestrated by the few remaining Elders.

REBUILDING THE COMMITTEE, SUB-PLOT TWO

Georgiana Swift and Horace Wright have been self-appointed to rule the conclave in its time of crisis. They are well qualified Elders with great prestige in Blue Blood society, next in line to assume power after the deaths of the committee members. Their transition has gone fluidly, and they were well received during this time, for they restored order to chaos, although for how long remains to be seen.

CONDUIT TRAINING, SUB-PLOT THREE

As a result of the ever present Croatan threat it has been decided that Conduits will be given more rigorous training, including the study of the old language. They will be given a greater arsenal to combat the forces of Lucifer's army. While many Blue Bloods hold great prejudice towards conduit families and therefore deplore the very idea of this practice, it is nevertheless necessary in these harsh times.

MONSTERS IN THE MAFIA, SUB-PLOT FOUR

The Croatans have a headquarters in Italy, disguised as the Italian Mafia. They specialize in weapons, drug trafficking and anything else they can get their hands on... but that's mostly a cover for something more sinister. What people don't know is that they also deal in blood. Say a Blue Blood or Croatan wants to order in. Well... Raffaelo Lombardi, the current head hancho will arrange a red blood to be delivered, and provide clean up, for a hefty fee of course. Of course this must remain hidden from the Committee and is extremely illegal in Blue Blood Society. The Committee finds it abusive and risky to their safety. For now, the committee has yet to find out. Raffe and his band of Croatans were presumed dead hundreds of years ago. The Committee thinks the Italian mafia's underhanded deeds are the work of humans.
