your final year ;
Harry Potter was born in the year 1980, but that's not where we want to be. No, let's go back further. Here is where we want to be. It's March of the year 1978, dolls. The infamous Marauders are in their seventh & final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry; the first war against the Dark Lord is about to begin. The Hogwarts students are joined by some guests this year. What role will you play & where will you end up?
It's all in your hands now.

good aim, alice "Moment in history: Hadley catches note without having to pretend to lean ridiculously far to see the board. Anyways. I was adding a decorative border around my notebook, so I'd say I'm bored as well. This whole week has been rather dull. But there's nothing new there, of course. I have no doubt that yours was exciting, though -- what was this I heard about a detention for singing? Bravo, if there's any truth to to the rumor; breaking out into song during class is one of those aspirations few actually have the backbone to follow. Especially in front of McGonagall. Sentiments squared, doll. <3"

good catch, hadleyhaha! well, all those chaser skills come in handy for other things. like throwing and catching notes, for instance. congrats, though, on this moment in history. you'll have to show me that border when you're finished. you've always been a bit more artsy than i have. oh yes. my infamous singing session. yeah, someone dared me to get up in class and break out into song. i'm getting records and chocolate out of it, though. but i'm stuck in detention with mcgonagall now. not looking forward to that. but the person who dared me .. well. i can't say much about him. i told him he needs to get detention with me.
not that anything will happen during detention!

just luck, alice "You'd think so, but alas. I believe it's become too much of an instinct to look around for stray bludgers before I try grabbing the paper. It's an amazing waste of ink, actually. I'll no doubt have to borrow some parchment later to re-copy the little notes still visible on it. Darling, please. If I know you at all, it's that -- by indirectly demanding in this sentence -- you will be writing about this mysterious boy like a madwoman in the next minute. Either way, I'll prompt you further. The detention was worth it, I'll bet. Though the day I'm convinced to accept a dare for the sake of a cute boy is the day Binns becomes anything but tedious. Especially if there's chocolate involved. Which you'll be giving me a piece of, by the way. I'm almost out of my current stock. Oh, kidding."

i say skill, hadleyoh, no, i know what you mean. i have to make sure no one has their wand up at the ready to send a bludger-paper ball at me. ever since last year and getting put in the hospital wing after that slytherin vs gryffindor match.
i finally found out that it was felan, but eh. well, an amazing-looking waste of ink from what i can see. though, you know. we're both short. whatever. you know me a little too well, i think. this mysterious boy .. oh boy. he's always been there, and yet i didn't bother to talk to him until history of magic class sometime last week. i dropped my quill. he held it for ransom for some quidditch gloves. oh, but haddie - he's just .. gorgeous. i can't help it. we're causing havoc now. i shouldn't gush like this. argh, reputation to crush on everyone to uphold. but he's just .. y'know, gorgeous. definitely well worth it. if i don't get my chocolate from him, i'm going to hold him against his will. and of course i'll share some chocolate! don't worry, i'm too nice not to share.

we'll pretend you're right, alice "I missed that match, I remember. In hindsight, I'd have much rather seen the action than do that extra coursework. Not that I take any sort of morbid joy out of seeing my friends knocked from their brooms or anything. Ahaha. Love you, doll. I would not classify what you've said so far as gushing; it would be more comparable to a trickle. So. Spill. I will not write anything further until you reveal more than the uneven trades that his boy has forced you to conduct -- this secondhand excitement is always savored. Moreso than those future chocolates. Okay, I lied. You don't have to tell me everything if this is a secret. I'd understand. Truly. ( ... Sorry, Alice. I had to give you the guilt trip. Had to. ) <3 Now, honestly. I'll just crumple this and throw it to you now."haddie.

pretend, haddie?yes, you did. you came by the hospital wing though, to make sure i was still alive. aw, i love you too, darling! really, i do. i'm trying to! but i'm not sure if i should say his name. it's a really really big secret. and i can't tell you yet. maybe you can figure him out before i need to tell you. and with the persuasion of chocolates that i'll be receiving from him. well. he's tall. first off. i'd have to say well over six feet. ( which, in this case, is tall ) he's got dark hair. a very .. er. attractive jaw. oh, haddie, i seriously think this boy could rival the already very gorgeous guys here at hogwarts. ( the standard being sirius black and his little brother, but they're both sort of .. weird for me, but whatever) he's just so .. wow. he's very into quidditch - c'mon, i wouldn't want to date him if he didn't. but he's in a different house! and dating people in other houses .. well, that tends to turn messy really quick. i don't know what to do. i don't know if he even feels the same way about me. he's quite the flirt. thanks for the guilt trip - but i can't tell you his name yet. but you know him so well! hey, let's see if i can catch it!

fine. you're always right, alice "If you had died, I would have had to murder someone. And probably would have ended up killed instead, but that's beside the point.
Oh, come on I'll trust that it's very secret-worthy. Oh, clues? Brilliant. Tall. No surprise there given that there's no one shorter than me. Dark hair. Hm. I'll have to scope out everyone in the school and make a list. ... Attractive jaw? Oh, you're smitten all right. Don't let either of them hear you say that. ;o Quidditch? I wholeheartedly approve thus far, then. I've never cared much for house rivalries, myself, but us eagles don't have to worry much about the constant red&green war. He's not a Slytherin by any chance? Alice Edgecomb, don't make me give you a pep-talk. Well, actually. Let me say this: you are a charming girl and could easily win any boy's heart. So there. Stop worrying. Now ... dark hair, good jaw, tall. I can only think of literary characters from muggle literature at the moment. Wonder what that says about me. Need a life, much?"had.

haha, still not even true, haddiewell, that's why i'll be the auror. i'll do all the hard nasty stuff, darling. it's very secret-worthy. are those enough clues? i mean, i could try to give you more.
he's a gorgeous slytherin! i think he's in your house, actually.
god, i'm such a liar. you're going to see right through this oh, hadders. ( oh, god, that was a BAD nickname. you've earned yourself an alice in wonderland reference pass. go on, i won't yell at you. ) thanks for those lovely words. and i know that if you really wanted your prince charming will come and sweep you off your feet! tee hee, that was so corny. just compile the list and go hunt for the guy i keep talking about.
is it good muggle literature? pass it on to me and i'll read it! what are we suppose to be doing in this class anyhow? the teacher looks like she fell asleep, haddie.

well, you're still the one with the right answer. "This poor attempt at diverting me from the truth is not working in the least Alice in Wonderland, I'd say that we're all mad here, but I believe it's just you. You think he's in Ravenclaw? Pah. Do you know how long it will take to create a mental list of every tall, dark, and handsomely-jawed male in this school? Or how it would look if I kept a written list? I can see the restraining orders now were anyone to ever view the log. And it would all be your fault. And by the way, I savored the reference pass very much, thank you. I still think the allusion is rather endearing, myself. Then again, I can't talk with the way my name can be made to fit one of the characters.
Mad Hadder. I could crucio myself. & nah, I think I'll resign myself to a fate as an old hag with a penchant for owl-keeping. I'll live on a roof somewhere and have them carry messages to you.
Very good, actually; the majority of their classics are. Beats me, actually. I'd find the class rather pointless if it weren't for the rare lessons where we actually learn something interesting.
Like what, I cannot say. But knowing what a refrigerator and a television is helps in conversations. Oh well. Gives us the opportunity to toss more notes."

crazy little haddieit's not like i can completely remember these things, haddie!
actually, i know a whole lot more than i think. he loves the falcons - and he's not happy that i met hamish macfarlan well, it'd probably take you a while - mental or written. there are a lot of tall, dark, handsomely-jawed males in this school.
all the more to keep you from finding out who he is it would be my fault - sorry! haha, i bet you loved it. seriously, i don't let just anyone do that to me. ... i think it's only you so far. but the next time someone else tries to make a reference, i'll bop them over the head and say, 'that's hadley territory!' that's because i love you. <3 y'know, hun, that's pretty depressing. say! i bet i could hook you up with some nice boy. i know what kind of boys you're into. you're right - there are rare instances where this class is interesting ..
refrigerators and televisions are now very fascinating. i want to own one of each. the more notes, the better.

we're twins in the mentally insane category. "There are probably five that meet the description in this class alone. The mission shall become an epic at this rate. Expect me to narrow the list down to one boy in about . . . oh, say, eight years? I'll have to present the list of crossed-off names ( and the singular circled one ) to you at the Ministry or the quidditch pitch, though it could put your profession in jeopardy. You know, associating with a crazed bird woman and all. Physical violence for the sake of my territory? What an honor. I pity the poor student who uses the nickname. Not depressing if I develop a love for the feathered creatures between now and . . . never, really. I can barely stand my owl. Perhaps I'll change owls to hippogriffs instead. They're much more intimidating. I wouldn't have to tell youngsters to get off my lawn roof. And ahhhh! Merlin's beard, being set up with someone would be a disaster for the both of us. Don't put two people through such pain. I wouldn't even want to be hooked up with myself. I'm a drama queen. Really, it's a nice thought, but I'm afraid any boy would feel jealous hah when neglected for my books or broom. Or, you know; I'm more timid than a house elf, hence my objection. I'll satisfy myself with novel-reading hippogriffs.
What is my kind though? But really. If I find out that you referred a boy to me, I'll . . . do something. I don't know what yet. But I'll figure something out. Be afraid. Anyhow. I'll stop rambling, or else it might become habit. The other instances are horribly dreary though, so I wouldn't count on anything captivating for the next month or so. This class rivals Divination for last place. Agreed."

too true, haddiehold on, lemme see. ... yep, there's about five in here that fit that description. sadly, it's none of these boys.
i'm pretty sure felan doesn't take muggle studies eight years? haddie, you obviously don't trust your own judgment. you'll get it done in a few months, i'm certain. and you won't be bird crazed if i've got anything to do with it. of course i'd bring out physical violence. only hadders ( THAT HORRIBLE NICKNAME AGAIN. free pass once more ) can say that i'm alice in wonderland. well, y'know. hippogriffs are lovely and intelligent. better choice indeed. i'll set you up! i know this smart boy, crazy about quidditch too! and he's a seventh year. very lovely, but he's a bit nuts in the head. still completely adorable. you'd love him! i'll ask him if he's seen you around. and ask him what he thinks of you. you will love it. well, i think we should stop tossing these notes. i'm beginning to think i'm wasting too much parchment. oh yes. divination = pointless. at least this class has points every once in a while.

using my free pass for an extra note instead. "and for the name butchering. Alice in Wonderland! Apparently my threat did not leave the mark it was supposed to. So. Not-so-very-angry-but-still-meant-to-be-intimidating-and-full-of-warning caps. DON'T YOU DARE SET ME UP WITH ANYONE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, YOU SCHEMING ... SCHEMER.
The thank you kind of killed it, and it was already dead. There. No more parchment to be used. I'll see you after class, missy."
