AND IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND SOMETHING REMINDS YOU, YOU WISH YOU HAD STAYED. YOU CAN PLAN FOR A CHANGE IN WEATHER AND TOWN BUT I NEVER PLANNED ON YOU CHANGING YOUR MIND. and i hope the sun shines,
White walls and giant panes of glass encompassed the room that the brunette was walking around in. Artifacts were hung artfully on the wall or arranged in shelves within the glass structures for everyone to see. Gwen could never understand the need to lock away treasures like this, she wanted so badly to be able to touch and feel things from the past. She could understand though, there were people that would steal these items if they thought they could; thus they were locked away. Knowing about history is important in preventing it from repeating. Yet no matter how hard humanity tries, history always seems to repeat itself. In the few hours that she had managed to find free of her work, Gwen had came here to the Zucherman Museum. She loved to come and stare at the objects from centuries ago, to make up stories in her head about how they were used and why.
For once Gwendolyn was thankful that no one she knew was actually here. She didn't have to play a game of avoiding people that worked for her father. Despite the fact that she was a grown adult, or as grown as a twenty-three year old woman could be, her father still felt the need to send people out to watch her like a hawk. He was too paranoid for his own good, so there were times that Gwen tried to slip away. Today had been one of them. Standing in the Ancient Egyptian wing of the museum, the brunette pressed her hand gently to the class enclosure in front of her. She was staring at a bracelet, the gold stark against the black cloth. Rubies, emeralds and onyx decorated the face, showing that it was worn by someone with power. Probably the wife of a pharaoh. Her mind let her transport herself back to that time, all those generations ago.
Every object that her eyes glanced over was another piece of their historic past falling into place for the young woman. She was transported to a time that was so far away that Gwen got lost in her surroundings. No longer was she aware of where she was or what she was doing as she let her fingers run over the glass in front of her. Her world was disappearing and she was letting her imagination transport her to a place well beyond her time. She was in the body of the royal, the person with all the power. It's times like this that Gwen wishes she could escape forever, that she could go back in time and be someone important. Her father says she's vital to his work and since its all she's ever known she doesn't question him. There has to be something more out there for her than spending her entire life hunting down supernatural beings.

YOU GOT A FAST CAR Is it fast enough so we can fly away? We gotta make a decision: Leave tonight or live and die this way. I remember when we were drivin', Drivin' in your car-- Speeds so fast I felt like I was drunk. City lights lay out before us, And your arm felt nice wrapped round my shoulder. And I, I had a feelin' that I belonged, And I, I had a feelin' I could be someone, Be someone, be someone ------------------------

With his shoulder bag firmly wrapped around him - Noah strode to the one place that he loved most but unfortunately hadn't had the time recently to visit. The museum used to be the one place you could find him. He would always retreat to the rather large building engulfed with old artifacts when something was on his mind and of course - something was always on Noah's mind. College although seemed to be what took up most of his time and with midterms drawing nearer his mind was too consumed in papers to do any activities that he wanted. Until today. Noah forced himself to drop the pen he was crazily writing a paper with and just roll back in the chair with content. The paper was not finished but he promised himself he would get to it later after when he took a breather.
He got ready - pulling on a white shirt with pin stripes running through-out. His hand reached in his closet retrieving a black tie which he promptly put on and over that grabbing a gray vest that snugly fit over. Noah's style of style was modern yet old time. Not many college students dressed like him and he enjoyed that. Noah looked at the time silently cursing himself in his head. Since his journey to the museum had been so long he hadn't the slightest clue anymore of when they actually closed. He quickly grabbed his cup of coffee, placing the lid firmly on top for no spills and bounded out the door quickly to set off to his destination. As he walked he had this feeling of excitement. He was rather the studious type - excelling in college greatly so far. He always started his work with the intentions of finishing it that very day until today. Today he was being daring - taking the risk of getting partial credit. Once in front of the museum he stood in awe for a few moments. It looked bigger to him. His excitement grew thinking that maybe they added on or had more exhibits within. He took hold of the rather large bronze handle of the door.
Once inside he could surely see that the museum had some work done. Things were not in the places where he remembered them. Like the giant colonial soldiers that practically welcomed you right when you walked in. They were moved and in their place was just giant open space which displayed the various halls you could break off into - signs above stating where each one went. The egyptian exhibit was one of his favorites - next to medieval of course. He decided he would venture down that hall first and take a peek to see if they had any new egyptian glyphs. He went walking down the right hall and was immediately taken in by the abundance of egyptian artifacts that seemed to have doubled since the last time he was there. His jaw even fell open at first before he found himself glued to one of the displays. While deep gazing in the mirror he saw a figure out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head slightly to see the person clearer - a female, Gwendolyn. A smirk came to his face instinctively and he quietly made his way over to her - making sure not to make a single sound. His wolf techniques clearly showing through. Once behind her he leaned forward a bit so that his mouth was just inches from her ear. "Didn't really take you for the museum type." He whispered softly.

So lost had Gwen been in the delusion that her mind was creating that she barely felt the presence of the man that was so close to her. It wasn't until he whispered words into her ear that she was brought back to reality. Turning slightly, letting her eyes graze over the person that was invading her personal space, Gwen smiled. It had been a while since she had seen Noah, after all she had left him alone in the dark. "There's a lot about me that no one knows. This is my escape, the place where I feel the most human." The words were spoken quietly as she turned back to the glass case in front of her. Why did she suddenly wish she had lived thousands of years ago? Maybe if she had been the wife of a pharaoh she would have had a better life. Maybe then she would truly understand her role in the world, her duty in life and have been somewhat happy. Without looking back at Noah she spoke again softer this time. "Did you ever wonder what it would be like to live in the Egyptian times? To know if you would have been a pharaoh, servant, priestess or just a simple farmer. To be respected and feared all the while knowing your true destiny?"
Gwen knew she was revealing more about herself than she should, giving away secret insights about her attitude and what was bothering her but she knew Noah. They weren't exactly friends, after what they shared she wasn't exactly sure where she stood with him but seeing him again brought up emotions she had pushed far away. Emotions were weakness, that's what her father used to tell her. They were something the enemy could use against you and showing them made people weak. She hated that, wanted to simple be able to feel like a normal young adult would feel. Yet here she was allowing her emotions to escape into the dream reality she wished she was in with a guy she hadn't seen in quite a long time. If she had been more aware of her surroundings perhaps Gwendolyn would have realized that she never heard Noah approaching and that was something to be concerned about. With the tile floor of the museum it was almost impossible not to hear someone walking around.
"What brings you out here?" She asked again, this time turning to face him and letting him see her emotions for the first time. Gwen was tired of shutting herself up behind a wall, she wanted people to see her as human, as a living feeling young woman who was simply confused about what she was doing. There was a fear in her, a fear that every day she would encounter someone that would end her life. Maybe that would be case but it shouldn't stop her from embracing the day as it comes. Today she was taking charge, was going to do things that were against her norm. If she suffered for it, so be it, but at least she would learn what it meant to e human for once in her short life. .
