He much prefers the silence of a library or a quiet nook near the beach than the loud and rowdy Nicky's. It was not so much that he does not enjoy the company of others as much as the loud pulsing of the music really hurts his ears. Being a werewolf he hears much more than the average human does, and therefore things too loud in volume and din make his ears ring. Silence is a key part to who he is. Having a tough childhood and loosing people important to him has shaped him into the man he is.
<p>Like most people there are two sides to everyone, a side the world sees and a side that is kept buried deep. Isaac likes to let the world see the 'human' side of him. While he openly hates anyone that does not take kindly to his werwolf status he does not overtly try to make enemies. He is smart and suave but tends to judge people based on first interactions. HIs mother's leaving is partly to blame for the way he views the world, though he would not change it even if he was given the chance. Isaac wants the world to see a quiet guy that knows how to stay calm under pressure. Someone that could potentially be the next president of the United States. His goals are much more simple, have a loving family first.
<p>His wolf side is the part of himself that he loves the most, the part that is kept hidden. Like so many of his kind he is victim to the hunger and the rage. He loves to eat and eat, hiding his thirst for raw meat with barely cooked burgers or steaks. Rarely does anyone encounter the rage, the fury that he can unleash. There has only been one known time and that was so long ago. Isaac works hard to stay calm, to avoid situations that could lead to him loosing his grip on reality.

<div style="background-color: #222; width: 380px; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; height: 150px;"><div style="width: 360px;">Isaac Sydney Malick was born the eldest son to Dominik and Danika Malick. At first his family life was fine, his parents were attentive and loving, making sure he had everything he wanted. It was an easy way to live, what with wealthy parents and the like. His father had owned a general contractor business and his mother was a college professor at the University of North Carolina, Raleigh Campus. For the first three years of his life things were great.
<p>When he was three, Isaac got to meet his little brother Damien. He barely understood the concept of another sibling and did not understand why his parents spent so much time with the squishy humanoid thing and little time with him. It was to be expected at that age that he wouldn't fully grasp the concept of siblings. Though as he grew older he understood the importance of being a big brother. Isaac quickly grew to love Damien almost as much as he loved his parents. Perhaps that was not such a good thing, for fate always has a way to change our lives.
<p>At the age of nine, one of the worst tragedies that a young child could go through happened. Damien who was six at the time and Isaac were on a boating trip with their cub scout's group. It was just supposed to be a week long adventure in a private cove that was owned by their Cub Scout den leader. The first day went off fine, thought it took a full day to reach the cove by boat. Once everyone was on shore they started putting up their tents and readying a camp fire. What they didn't know was that some smugglers had found the cove and not realizing it was owned by anyone had set up shop. They came from out of nowhere and started shooting towards the children. Isaac had been too far away from Damien to pull him to safety and the six year old took a bullet to the head and one to the chest. They were too far away to reach a hospital in time and without cell signals. The death of his brother had set Isaac into a terrible rage, enough so that the other boys had to tackle him to the ground to keep him from running off.
<p>The knowledge of loosing their youngest son had set Isaac's father off, causing him to change against his will. For so long he had hidden the fact that he was a werewolf, that it came as a rather nasty shock to his wife. Danika could not wrap her mind around the fact that her husband was not human, that he was a creature and so she left, Not only had Syd lost his baby brother but his mom all but abandoned them. He learned quickly that much of the world viewed them as abominations, thought they were all horrid creatures that did not deserve to live. It was at the age of nine that his cynical view of humans started to form.
<p>It was not long after his wife left, Dominik moved the family to the town of New Orleans. He had a brother there that could help him look after Isaac. The immersion into the lycan pack was not easy for him, though he found he loved his relatives. Things were tougher though as his father had to sell the business and take a job as a carpenter. Syd was sent to public school, where he tended to stay on the fringes. He never ventured too far to get to know people but would not ignore them if they approached him. He was learning to deal with the wolf, to tame the beast and hide the signs that pointed to his lineage. It was fairly easy to do until the fateful day he went walking in the woods. The air smelled off, like charcoal and the thick heady scent of smoke. He hated the smell of smoke so he went to investigate. A house at the edge of the woods was on fire and it appeared that there was someone trapped inside. The sensible thing would have been to call 911 but he doubted if anyone could make it in time. So he did what he could, he ran throughout he house until he found the blond girl that was trapped and he pulled her from the fire.
<p>Isaac never took the time to study her, or to understand the significance of what happened. If he had perhaps he would have noticed the girl around Spenser's when he started attending. Though he spends much of his time searching for the one girl that will accept him for the werewolf and not the human, someone the exact opposite of his mother.
