THE PLOT

welcome to pioche, nevada. population? too small to count. as one of nevada's oldest and most historical towns, it's a town with many secrets and many hidden treasures. but chances are you've never heard of this small town, and to be frank, that's exactly the way the residents like it. you see, the once extremely prosperous silver mining town is well off the beaten track. the residents are like one big family, with everyone knowing each other and gossip spreading like wildfire. but a recent excavation of the entire state of nevada lead to the government notice of a large empty stretch of desert in pioche's backyard, and now the nevada government is practically salivating at the thought of placing a highway right through the outskirts of town. a short cut from from wells in north nevada down to las vegas, saving an hour off the current road trip time? who could ask for anything better? the entire state has been buzzing about it, putting pioche back on the map. with developers coming into town to place their bids on the construction project and architects wanting to modernize the town as quickly as possible, the people of pioche are just pissed off. and rightfully so. why does the government think they can just walk in and change everything that's been working so perfectly in the past? this is their town, and their determined to let it be known. and if anyone thinks they can change their mind, or change their town? well, you can expect the people to organize an UPRISING.

it's currently march in pioche, and the winter season is drawing to a close. the temperature is hovering right around 65 degrees, and everyone couldn't possibly be happier. the schools are being released for spring break, and families are planning vacations in and out of pioche. and watch out for those tourists, as many developers are attempting to sneak into town to get their development plans ready for construction in late spring.
