ah, fair verona. no, not that verona. this is the verona
in new york. it's a decently sized city made up of about 100,000 citizens located in
upper new york. there's a rumor among the citizens that verona is the city of love
because of the shared name with the hometown of romeo and juliet. however,
their logic is a bit skewed. love and luck from a city's name where two people
died? sure, they were in love, but come on! they died! some love story that is.
but still, verona is a city. lives do go on here, away from the sappy romance. the
citizens are restaurant owners, starving artists, heirs to the largest business in
upper new york. and for some extremely odd reason, their lives seem to reflect
shakespeare's novels. let's just hope yours isn't hamlet or macbeth. welcome to
verona.

verona's arena
perhaps one of verona's most famous attractions. it is located just outside of the cities walls. the arena is a roman amphitheatre; the only one in new york. the interior is open to the public, and hosts a large amount of theater and musical functions.

the hub for businesses. several businesses are located along this busy street. two major oil companies, castelli and montague, are at opposite ends. at 5:00 pm, it is common to see black suits swarm from the doors to head home.

hudson river art gallery
this small gallery promotes young artists. it holds a series of one-man shows that last up to two weeks. it makes a spectacular place for up-and-coming artists. also, it is a favorite for first dates, as it does not charge to get in.

the best italian food in verona. incredibly elegant, this restaurant is decorated in tasteful style. covered in frescos, the restaurant also boasts an elaborate ceiling. one of il desco's classics is escalope of liver in recioto and pear sauce. for dessert, choose melon slices with port granita. definitely a first date pick.

the best place to get drunk. the owner serves up cheap beer and doesn't ever cut anyone off. the bar itself is dim and dirty, but that doesn't ever stop anyone from entering.

perhaps not the most glamourous of places, but certainly the cheapest. depending on the apartment, some can be nice, and some cannot. it all depends on how well you shop, and how much you make.

a step up from an apartment, these are usually tucked in a nice quiet street. they range from extravagant to cozy, and are warm in the summer and chilly in the winter. families are very welcome.

the best hotel in verona. it is a small luxery hotel that is located in the heart of verona and owned by two full-blood italians. both tasteful and expensive, the rooms were recently refurnished. definitely a must visit.
